These settings doubled my speed and kept my sms and mms messages coming through. Hope it helps someone.
In the default at&t apn go down to apn type and change it to mms .
Hit menu and save.
Then go back and create new apn.
Name it whatever. Named mine hspa+
apn : phone
apn type : default,internet
everything else leave alone. Hit menu and save. Go back and highlight "select" the new apn you created "green dot on new one" and back all the way out and reboot phone.

Finally got a custom ROM on my phone, NFSFANs, and I must say I really like it, but for some reason I am unable to MMS. I looked through all the places i thought would be obvious settings, but i cant find anything
anyone else experience this?
same issue
i have been haveing the same issue on my touch pro, i dont see were to fix it when i try to send it starts to then says unable to send does any one know of a fix for this, i am useing Energy.HERMAN.23518.StandardM2.5_27.
use this
use this cab, it appears that messaging is still not ready for the new 2011 builds...
This will disable the HTC Messaging and take you back to the winmo messaging.
You also need the second cab to take your phone back to what sense2.1 used and it should work...
There is also a third file attached, that one you install by itself, you have to go to the "all messages" then you have to go to the menu>options>settings and put your settings.
Search on it a little more, If I find the full information again I will let you know. I read on it last night and got my wifes touch pro2 to mms again so this should work for you too...
Maybesz?
I beleive this may be what your after, these settings are carrier specfic in order to get MMS working
HKLM\Software\Arcsoft\Arcsoft MMS UA\Config\MM1 Default Setting Cricket MMS and Change WAP default Port 1&2 to 8080 and WAP Default Time Out to 10000

Under UI\Domain http://mms.mycricket.com/servlets/mms
Under UI\SizeLimit WAP1RecvLimit 1,2,3 set everything on that page (12 settings in all) 1024000 (this is part of your 1000K send and receive limit)
HKLM /software/arcsoft mms ua/config/UI
find EnableServerEdit and change it from 0 to 1
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Int ernet Settings Where it says Connections, Delete that entire string Hold down stylus on Connections circle it and delete it, This is what keeps the MMS from sending. Bad thing is every time you open explorer it re-writes this registry. To solve that many of us have just used something else besides Explorer. Like Opera, Firefox Mobile or Skyfire.
You can still use these browsers without writing the Connections Value. If you don’t want to use anything but Explorer, you are going to have to go into this registry file and delete the Connections string every time to send MMS or until someone comes up with a registry hack to Auto delete this value every time you close IE …Close Regedit.
Now go to your messages and click menu/MMS options and then click server and click add new. Add new or if you already have one called something else just click it and click edit...you need to change these settings to
Server Name Cricket
Gateway leave blank
Port Number 8080
Server address http://mms.mycricket.com/servlets/mms
Connect Via Cricket MMS
Sending limit (should be 1024000 if you changed these settings correctly in regedit)
Wap version Wap 2.0 (Wap 2.0 should be pre selected, if it is don’t touch it. If it keeps reverting back to 1.2 when you click close? Go back into regedit and select WapType 1 as mentioned previously, this forces it into WAP 2.0 without it MMS won’t work.) Now if you have more than 1 select the cricket one you just configured and hit set as default then go back to HKLM\Software\Arcsoft\Arcsoft MMS UA\Config\MM1\MMSCSetting\Cricket MMS and delete the other configuration, when you go back into settings CricKet should be the only one there and it should be default.
Start\Settings\Connections\Connections Under the General Tab Enter Cricket. Under the Modem Tab put in Cricket Mobile Web select modem to cellular line. Click next put in #777 to dial to Cricket, click next… User Name: [email protected] Password: cricket Domain: Leave Blank, click finish…under proxy settings, check these 2 boxes (this network connects to the internet, and this network uses a proxy server to connect to the internet) Proxy Server: wap.mycricket.com click advanced. The only thing with a value should be HTTP wap.mycricket.com:8080 the rest blank. Click ok and ok again, this ok should bring you back to the connections screen at the bottom click advanced. Click select networks. Under both drop downs select Cricket. Click Ok Go into Exceptions Click add new URL for each of the following settings you are going to need to click add new url again, these don’t all go under one “Add new URL” Block
*mms.mycricket.com/servlets/mms
*.mms.mycricket.com/servlets/mms
*mycricket.com/
*.mycricket.com/
*.mms.mycricket.com/

I have a new what i was told is an unlocked atrix on the sasktel network. i can call and text but i can't save my apn settngs to get my internet working. the wifi works fine but not the network one. please help, my provider won't
What are your current APN settings? Go to Settings >Wireless & networks > Mobile Networks>Access Point Names
Neither will mine. Unlocked Bell Atrix on MTS.
I have no APNs listed, and they never show up once saved.
Not sure what other network settings are..but I'm unlocked on Telus and my apn settings are: sp.telus.com
When I first entered them I had so.telus.com and had phone and SMS but no mobile data until I realized my typo.

Hello buddy,
i had the same problem and the solution that i found is to set a new apn and just set the following choices
1. Name
2. Apn
3. port
All other choices left blank.
I did that and it works perfect.

Tried that.....i can enter all the settings that is fine. but as soon as i click the menu button to "save" it goes back to the main page and shows no APN settings saved
Are you rooted?
If yes try to change the /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/telephony.db add the apn in there
no i am not rooted i did not want to do that till i knew i got everything running.
I tried and tried to get the Bell Atrix to work.
APN Manager: no luck
Network Info II: no effect when settings changed either in OS or APN manager.
Whenever an APN was typed in, it would "save" (proven by APN Manager) but not be selectable, it just disappears once menu-save.
Returned it and purchased a Nexus S, took all of a minute to get data working.

Perhaps i didn't explain correct.
Make a new apn change the first four choices and left the other unchanged(not blank)

i am rooted now. can you explain this method a little bit for me
i cant just change the first four because the MCC and the mnc are not registering i have to enter them manually. my provider says it is not reading them from the sim card for some reason. i rooted the phone now. i am going to try getting into it from there
The easiest way I found was download SQLite editor. Its a few dollars. Then open it and click yes for root. Go to dialer storage then telephony.DB. then carriers. Add your apn to the list. If eceything is correct it should work. If the phone does not read the mcc then you may be screwed though.

(all settings I left blank, leave blank, make sure you press menu, save to save)</br>
2) Enable Airplane Mode
(hold power button for three seconds, select Airplane Mode)
3) Open Root Explorer
4) Navigate to: /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/
5) Click on "telephony.db"** (this should open the db using SQLite Editor)
6) Select "carriers"
7) You should see a long list of APN settings for various carriers, Push the menu key to bring up the menu. Then goto new record and fill out the details from there. Make sure that the _id is sequential from the other records.
8) Press back twice to close the SQLite editor and you should be back in Root Explorer. Close Root Explorer.
9) Disable Airplane Mode

there is an _ID collum on the far left that goes from 1 to 80ish on my phone so when u fill that out im assuming you will have to make it sequential. 1 2 3 ... 85 etc etc

to keep root and install custom rom if that is also what you fancy
i am running miui 5.4. Everything is working as should, with the exception of MMS. After days of research and forum crawling like a crackhead, i have concluded that the apn settings is the problem, if i create a new apn and input the settings for us cellular (my carrier) then i am able to send and recieve MMS. It is only when i reboot my phone that it breaks again, and i am forced to re-enter the settings to send MMS. I am just curious if anyone has had a similar problem, and if there is a way to fix it so i dont have to enter these settings with every reboot
thanks in advance
try to flash nv white rabbit, all settings needed for qpst.
you can also change other settings under ##data#, ##DEBUG#.
mms spc was 500667 on my device. not the standard 000000
Trying to get MMS working on this phone using Straight Talk (AT&T).
Problem is that all my APN settings will save EXCEPT the "APN Type". It always reverts back to "default, hipri" even though I change it to "default, supl, mms". I know I'm saving it properly (not new to this whole phone stuff) and nothing is working.
Also, as a side issue...though I can't send MMS I can receive them sometimes...not all the time, but once in a while a MMS will somehow come through despite the APN Type reverting to "default,hipri"...so I don't know what's going on.
Saving the APN Type is top priority here though...any reason why it keeps changing back?
Wanted to see if this resolved the issue for anyone else.

** Always make a backup. A full system and personal data backup. At the very least backup personal data just in case something goes wrong, so you still have your pics and vids. **
Started with FreedomPop ROM. Switch to RingPlus. Activated service and updated PRL. 4g and mms were working at this point. Flashed to cyanogenmod 13 and I could make calls but not use 4g. If it set it to 3g in Settings -> Cellular Network Settings -> Preferred Network Type it would work without issues.
I flashed back to my FreedomPop ROP and updated PRL and Profile. Rebooted. Flashed back to CM13. Still no 4g.
Next I used oden 3.09 to flash stock 5.0.1 Lollipop ROM L720PUGOK3. Took forever to download and had to flash 3 times before it completed. Once setup, I updated PRL and Profile again. Rooted and installed TWRP. Flashed back to CM13. Still no 4g.
Tried to select APN from APN list in settings expect there is no APN list settings anywhere.
Tried to manually edit APN list but was not able to find a great details on how to modify the APN file. Its an XML file and it seemed too risky to manually edit with the lack of a good guide.
Next I used Change APN app. No APN's were listed so I manually entered in RingPlus APN. No APN was added to the list but I rebooted the phone. Still no 4g.
Next I installed Offline SIM APN Database. Selected, Search APN settings for this SIM. It informed me I had two APN's on my device. Both named Sprint World with the same exact settings. I selected one. Then I selected the third button from the top named Go TO Android APN Settings. Again, the APN list was blank. I selected the three dots or options button and selected Reset To Default. It asked permission to reset to the default APN. Immediately the 4g symbol showed up. Data was now working on 4g. I rebooted and 4g was still working.
I don't know if all or just some of the steps caused it to work. I'm not to eager to replicate the situation. If anyone is having the 4g issue and they have tried everything, please try these steps and let me know if it worked. Honestly, I think just doing the last step of resetting the APN to default just might fix it. IDK.
I would have just flashed to stock but CM13 is cool and small.
