i installed the galaxy task 14 rom.. pretty awesome
but! now my games have a black bar on top of screen like the resolution isnt right...
anyone had this same thing happen? and is there a fix?

Ronald
I use this ROM a lot... can't remember having seen this issue myself but try searching the task 14 ROM thread. It seems like I read about it somewhere and was an easy fix.
If you can read this it was sent using my GT-P7510.
hmmm
hey thanks for the fast reply!
hmm over a hundred pages... yikes
i guess ill start reading tonight... lol

Two many many posts and it night be easy to miss thats why you use search for that specific thread first.
But also, reading all there posts you'll learn things that could happen in the future and remember where to look.

wow
thanks for the advice! i signed up for the thread
couldnt find anything in the thread about my particular problem though..
but ive tried other games.. they dont have it... so i gather its a problem on the developer side of the game.. you would expect asphalt 6 to be well designed..weird
now on to finding out how to edit things that my 3g model with galaxy task is still a 3g model so games wont tell me im not compatible... build prop editing im guessing
just scared to just edit it.. i hope task 360 will feel better soon so i can ask him in person.. would be a nice addition to his thread to supply that extra file so people with 3tg model just loose 3g and not compatibility to games and such
im excited about this galaxy tab 10.1 its even better then i though it would be..

Task 14 was created by Task650, never heard of task 360. I think you're mixing up two different people, maybe ROMs too. Unless I'm missing a post some where, Task650 himself is feeling fine. It's a family member with Task650, but he welcomes questions if they aren't really stupid.

hey guys.
just pre-ordered my sIII. i'm a little disappointed that it has a menu button instead of a dedicated multi-task button. anybody know if we can reassign those buttons? do any roms support this? i'm surprised i haven't seen anybody mentioning this drawback on the sIII on the forums... unless i missed a thread or something. just under a month until i get it... can't wait!
thx
I agree, I'm suprised Samsung wont let us customize the stock rom more.
I'm used to having the menu button in the middle but, correct me if Im wrong, I dont think it can be moved.
Would these have to be reworked to work with the S3 or could I flash them without issue? I'd really like to enable native tethering and the screen rotation mod wouldn't be bad either! Thanks!

This will not work on our S3.
It is device-specific as it relies on modifying the framework files.
Just wait a bit more - now that the device is finally available in stores, we are likely to start seeing more dev's and mods releasing for this phone.
(also, you will mostly likely get stoned soon <and not the good kind of stoned> for posting this under DEV rather than under General Q&A)
Yea not to sound like a jerk but Q and A for questions like this next time please and thanks

Just seen this video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DR5sI7vxzr4
I was wondering if this going to be available for the AT&T i717 anytime soon? Any ROMs looking to implement it in any way?
I asked this same question here a day or so ago and was told a ROM like this would hard brick the Hell out of our phones.

Hmm.. if anyone else can explain further on why it would... the n7000 is jsut the international version of the i717, how much different could it be that would cause it to hard brick the phone.

The internals of the two phones are completely different. International uses a dual-core Exynos and ours uses a dual-core Snapdragon S3. Its similar to how a hybrid Camry and an all gasoline Camry work. They look the same on the outside, but once you pop the hood, its two different worlds. The parts from one won't necessarily work on the other.

If your that confident flash a n7000 ROM and find out.
Gots my beer goggles on!
The two phones have completely different hardware.
They already have multi-window/tasking video and web browsing apps in the market. Seems plausible to me that an app will come in the near future to do anything (vids, web, apps) in multiple windows... no need to flash an entire ROM.

The international version uses a Exynos based SoC for all of the core processing duties.
The need for LTE, which the Exynos didn't support, forced Samsung to use a Qualcomm based SoC with a LTE radio.
Because Samsung's Exynos now supports LTE, the international and North American versions will likely be one and the same from here on out.

This question has been asked a million times
search search search... no kidding a million times
Please learn from my misfortune...
I have hard-bricked my Samsung Note I717 by flashing an N7000 Hydracore "UNIVERSAL" kernel. Moral of the story: Never, Ever Flash Any Non-I717 Kernel!!!
I love reposting

Just type "multi window" or "Split Screen" into that little box in the upper right hand corner of the screen, the one with the magnifying glass, then hit enter. These threads have been made and your question, which was late to begin with, has been answered. Thank you and Welcome to XDA, home of the multi-thread about the same thing.
As of yet, and please correct me if I'm wrong, it is not possible to have multi-windows on the GNote. Please use the search function.

My question is this:
Is there anyway to port floating touch to Xperia Sole's brothers? In particular i'm interested in doing this for Xperia Go. due to his characteristics i think it would be great if you can use it with gloves!! I'm asking this because one of my closest friend is a Chef and bought the xperia go to use it in the kitchen but he always has gloves on so he dream of Glove Mode for his Xperia Go!
I know that there are some hardware issues, but i want to ask anyway. Hopefully a hell good dev here can try so!
Thanks in advance!

Your friend can use a conductive thread n make some knots of it on his gloves ! its a thread that can conduct charge and washes like a normal thread ... google " make a glove work with touch screen" u ll get it there... no need to develop anything for GO
Well its not about a developer spending hours and porting it. What you are talking about it like removing a hardware component and porting into your xperia go, which isnt possible right at this moment!
Xperia sola hosts dual touch sensors while all other phones just have one! Single capacitance and mutual capacitance touch sensors!
And one of those enable floating touch! Its not an app but a hardware!
For more info read about it on sony website! Hope it helped

ok thanks for the infos. it is just that for mine Galaxy s Plus they have done something similar by working on some touchscreen value. we have also an app now to control it. Here is the thread
so i was thinking it could be done.
thanks again!

Well yeah that may work as the app is used to increase the sensitivity of detecting electrical impulses which allows it to detect it a bit above the screen! Well thats what I think!
