[Q] [Q - Xperia U/P/GO] Porting Floating Touch from Sola - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

My question is this:
Is there anyway to port floating touch to Xperia Sole's brothers? In particular i'm interested in doing this for Xperia Go. due to his characteristics i think it would be great if you can use it with gloves!! I'm asking this because one of my closest friend is a Chef and bought the xperia go to use it in the kitchen but he always has gloves on so he dream of Glove Mode for his Xperia Go!
I know that there are some hardware issues, but i want to ask anyway. Hopefully a hell good dev here can try so!
Thanks in advance!

Your friend can use a conductive thread n make some knots of it on his gloves ! its a thread that can conduct charge and washes like a normal thread ... google " make a glove work with touch screen" u ll get it there... no need to develop anything for GO

Well its not about a developer spending hours and porting it. What you are talking about it like removing a hardware component and porting into your xperia go, which isnt possible right at this moment!
Xperia sola hosts dual touch sensors while all other phones just have one! Single capacitance and mutual capacitance touch sensors!
And one of those enable floating touch! Its not an app but a hardware!
For more info read about it on sony website! Hope it helped

ok thanks for the infos. it is just that for mine Galaxy s Plus they have done something similar by working on some touchscreen value. we have also an app now to control it. Here is the thread
so i was thinking it could be done.
thanks again!

Well yeah that may work as the app is used to increase the sensitivity of detecting electrical impulses which allows it to detect it a bit above the screen! Well thats what I think!

[Q] Changing Hue/Saturation/Gamma values on our displays

This is a development question, but I felt it should be in Q&A, so I hope some developer will see it.
Is there any way we can manipulate values like hue, saturation, gamma for our displays? Is it kernel/GPU/firmware/none of the above related?
Thanks in advance!

It is possible.
It's GPU related.
Some roms already have similar features. "not quite as in depth"
But it would be a very nice feature to have.
BTW.. i dropped yo a pm.

I got the idea because I updated my NVidia drivers today on my PC and messed with the settings a little! LOL!
It would be interesting if it could be done for our phones...
I think they could use a bit more saturation maybe.

I found this while searching for you. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=840370
I have been always interested in this possibility too..i tried many times in the past to find out how to do that..but without results! It would be fantastic if we can find a way to do this!

Let's Try To Make Enough Noise To Give The Live with Walkman (at least) a Subforum

Hey Ppl Let's Try To Make Enogh Noise to give the live a subforum instead of relying
on the Mini/Mini pro/Ray & Active subforum.
how are you going to do that?

+1 for the idea!
Thnx man. Try to spread the word about this and the petition posted if u can
I agree because this device is new and I cant find something for my walkman because everything is for mini/pro/active

That's why we need a proper forum to work in development would be much better if we had the space of our own forum
Am I the only one who sees this as a redundant idea?
Why make a subforum for a device that is almost identical to the mini/mini pro/active, that so far has no development on it other than FXP. The only reason Xperia Ray has a different development subforum is because it has a completely different screen size, along with different internals. Instead of petitioning for a possibly completely empty subforum, try and help to fill up the already development-wise Mini/minipro/live/active subforum.
Splitting each device differently has various negative impacts. Since they are identical, most apps will work on all of these 4 phones. For example the 4x4 home. It works for all. The quick menu, etc etc etc. Having each phone in a different subforum will drive off people who can work between devices.

well these threads will get lost becaus off litle support, then what about adding the name to the forum of MINI/PRO/Active because maybe some devs can't find it on XDA
Yeah the Live isn't even in the name of the sub forum we at least need a a little recognition

[REQ] Help me identify these toggle widgets, please?

Guess this should be an easy one.
I found this screenshot on a popular technology board you're most probably familiar with *cough*/g/*cough* and fell in love with it (to say the least).
I've had a hard time searching for this toggle widget set and came out of google with empty hands, so I hope you guys help me out on this one
I'm too lazy/busy to craft a replica by myself.
I'm pretty sure it's an ICS MDPI Xperia, hehe.
Screenshot is attached. Thanks in advance.
Hmmm... Widgetsoid?

I'm sorry I can't help identifying the widgets, but I may be able to make it easier to narrow it down. That is a GB build, you can tell by the status bar. So since alot of apps, mostly widgets and hd games dont work with ics yet, the app may not have shown up in the play store if you are on an ics build. Hope that helps some.

[Q] Buy

I am planning on buying the device sola. Is the device worth it ?
Please suggest and if possible, please state bugs if any..
Read the bugs list at the top of the forum!
Personally I wouldn't buy the S again, just my opinion however...
What device?
Sorry. OP updated

I would buy it,its same as my U just with memory slot and floating touch but its not nice looking to me and I need front camera and big led nofication bar.
If you asked the same question a month ago the answer would probably be no, but after the ICS upgrade the phone is really amazing. The UI is very smooth, the rooting method is very easy and I really like the glove mode (floating touch - you dont touch the screen at all!). Also the external sd card is a must for me.
Just my 2c
These type of threads really don't make sense to me. If your considering the phone take look in the development section see what kind of roms and kernels are available look in apps and themes see what type of mods and apps there are. Do a little reading here in the general section I'm sure you'll find a bunch of other info. I would venture a guess that for every person that says buy it someone will say not to so in the end you'll be no further ahead then when you started. So with that I'm going to close this.

[DEV]Skeleton version of ICS

I don't know if this is of any help or use to any one, but here is a pretty bare skeletal version of ICS. It's been shrunk down as much as I can make it. Still has keyboard and sysui. No launcher though. This is where you come in. You have to make this in to what ever you feel like.
Skeleton - http://www.mediafire.com/download/v75bip596qrrywc/skeleton.zip
Device files:
Coconut - http://www.mediafire.com/download/3te6aeuj0chef4b/coconut.zip
Mango - http://www.mediafire.com/download/rn2dfce21ck76t3/mango.zip
Satsuma - http://www.mediafire.com/download/v0y3eq0x65br4a7/satsuma.zip
Smultron - http://www.mediafire.com/download/s29gh94p2wl2y47/smultron.zip
Unsure about this one:
Locked bootloader - http://www.mediafire.com/download/biqwkoexaj08jgm/locked.zip
The work behind this has been done by Saqib Nazm. It's a shrunken version of his Fluorescent Feather ROM.
The keyboard is naheel azawy's wonderful work, Best Keyboard for Xperia Mini Pro. The amazing thing is it's really low on the ram usage as well, so.
The camera is hansip87's pretty work, Camera HQ Mod: Extreme vs High. (It's the one under "Alternate Video Codec")
This is just what I use. You are free to put in/make use of what ever you like! But do give props to Saqib Nazm, he's the one who made this ROM to begin with! (I just shrunk it)
Good luck and have fun building what ever you'd like out of this! : )
(And again, this is a skeleton. This will not install/run without a launcher - that's the whole point with this, it's only meant for developing.)

the dev files for smultron contain files intended for mango. my touch is bricked. i've tried everything suggested here and nothing has worked. what do you suggest now oh great developer?
Edit: If you can remake smultron.zip, maybe, just maybe it might start working again. Please do try and please also try not to f it up this time. Thanks

And I was tired when I made the skeleton. I have quiet a lot of things to do. I paid you for a new phone. Did you say "thank you"? Not once. Not once did you show any gratitude. What did you say? You said, "shame you had to pay for your mistake, hope you don't stop developing". I told you I was paying you out of kindness, not out of any warranty (there is none, everything you install/run on these forums are at your own risk).
Instead of saying, "yeah, it was wrong of me, I was tired and frustrated, but that was still wrong of me", you instead justified being rude. That makes your "sorry" rather moot. After all, what are you sorry about? If you are sorry about being rude then being tired is irrelevant, you were rude. Period. And you are sorry about it. Period.
If you want peoples help try being kind. Rudeness will only make people turn their back on you.
Look at the date/time on my post in which I was rude. That was before we exchanged PMs and before you paid me.
I did not ask you to pay me you offered yourself.
Thanks for paying me and sorry I was rude. Let's end this here please. Thanks a lot

Did you just once more justify being rude? Yes you did. I don't get it. Why? If you are sorry about being rude then why justify it? That means you don't think it was wrong and that, in turn, means you are not sorry.

Yes I did. Do you know why? Because I was sorry my mistake led to your phone breaking. Do you know what that means? Sorry comes from "being sad". It means it made me sad you had a broken phone because of my mistake. -So I did something about it.

Sorry for what? You're not the slightest bit sorry! If you were you wouldn't have tried making it sound right that you were rude. Instead, you would have felt sad about being rude. You don't. Fair enough.
