Dear xdadevelopers,
I've ported a Hero ROM to a HTC Magic.
Here's my problem:
Problem: There's a great battery drain when you're connected to the network (no data but just mobile network for calls/SMS)
Ported ROM: Sandwich Deluxe 4.0 .
Original ROM: Hero ROM
Kernel: carz-2.6.34.4 (fast and stable)
What probably causes the problem? The mobile network drains battery.
I'm not in a low signal-area. Everybody who uses the ROM has a drain.
I'm using a 2.x.x instead of a 3.0 kernel for an ICS ROM, can it be that this mismatch creates the drain?
The phone displays a singal strength of 0dBm 97 asu. (Not normal?)
What doesn't cause the problem? In airplane mode there is no drain at all. So it is unlikely that some apps causes the drain.
Wifi, GPS, sync, ... are all disabled.
What do you expect from xdamembers?
- Confirmation if the kernel is the issue of the drain. If not, I would like to know which files (in ROM) are responsible for network signal.
- Other solutions for solving the problem.
Thanks in advance
PowerPlop
Solved by replacing firmware folder.
Can you please elaborate a bit more ,? how did you solve the pb? i am facing exactly the same.
I'm pushing this one back up (though it is old)
because I have the same exact problem
started when I flashed CM 10.1 on my HTC Incredible S
and now it won't disappear, even when I restored to stock ROM

The problem was related to the the firmware folder inside the ROM, I doubt it is the same source of your problem.

Thanks for the reply. my problem is same as yours.. the radio seems like turn off when im not using my phone.. in the battery stats, screen off = red signal bar and when the screen is on = green signal. battery drains overnight eventho wifi gps and eveything are turned off.. but i found it weird is whenever i plugged a charger to my phone, green bar all the way even when im not using. so maybe u know what the problem excatly is.. im having a hard time looking for the solution but nothing worked. thanks! =/

I see other ROM users don't have battery problems. You could try a full system wipe and reflashing your ROM.

Well, first thing to do is to make an account over at google.com.
next, when all is done with creation of your account, you go over at the nearest playstore ( http://play.google.com/store ) and you click on the search button wich should look much like an magnifying glass and you should enter these as your keywords:
"Spirit FM" (without quotes) and as a search result you will be offered with the much wanted app... You should then click on it and when it opens, you click on install and, voila! You've got it!
Sorry for the sarcasm but I had to do it..
No hard feelings! The instructions are quite explanatory so you should use them!
Have fun listening!

after installing jelly bam and if goes into bootloop, just pull the battery and insert. the rom then should complete installing. If you read the jellybam thread about 30 pages back, this method was mentioned.

Battery Drain
Does anybody suffer from more than average battery drain on JellyBam? It seems to lose battery way faster than ResurrectionRemix. (I have latest versions of both roms + Doriman 7.27) And btw JellyBam also hangs a lot with Doriman 7.28.

Secondary Rom: JellyBam 1.2.0
Kernel: Dorimanx 7.xx
Hi friends
Is there a permanent fix to the screen goes blank problem in AOKP?
I know that booting to the stock rom slot, and then back to AOKP fix that. but it happens again and again every few days \ a week.
Currently using nightly (jb-mr1)2013-05-12, but the problem isn't new. Razr XT910 & BMM. AOKP on Slot 2.
Does other mods, like CM10.1 has the same problem ?
thanks
Better ya use liquid smooth or if ya wanna stuck to akop then do a full wipe and wipe ya caches too . I hope this would work if it doesn't then delete the slot and reinstall it .
Edit : if ya still having problem then change the rom it might be a bug , i am not sure if its a bug ir not because I've not used akop till now .
Thanks!!
Please hit the thanks button if i helped ya in anyways !!!

done that, even tho it happens after a totally cleaned install on a new slot and on 2 different XT910. old problem, so its strange I can't find a solution after a lot of searching.
liquid smooth is based on aosp and not aokp, right ?
no such problem there when you install on a second slot ?

Do you have the latest version of your rom? Most of the roms are still beta and have issues
Sorry, I don't think there's a fix for this. AOSP roms still do have some bugs like this that devs are still working on. I seem to remember hashcode0f being stumped by a "black screen of death" issue, which might be what you're having. It's been plaguing AOSP roms for a while.
temp fix is disabling lockscreen.....goto security and set lockscreen as none...it will fix SOD

yes, I'm trying new nightly every once in a while, even on different XT910. I've installed latest AOKP on my workmate's XT910 few days ago - same problem.

bingo, all the 3 phones have password protected lock screen. but it's forced by the company policy via the organization Exchange server. So I can't remove the lock, without removing the exchange account from the Razr.
or maybe there's a way to bypass it in AOKP ?
Update: It's not the lock screen. I have disabled it, and 2 SOD since..
