Does anyone know how to change the battery low- connect to charger option- the battery still has 20% charge left it starts to warn me, I would like to put it down to10% or even 5%. Is it possible, running stock.

Has anyone run across this? Lately when using Battery Calibration app, as soon as I unplug from charger I drop from 100 to 96...( happens frequently now) is this just a sign my battery is getting weak?

Nope - that's actually the correct behavior for a well-calibrated and healthy battery. When you charge your phone disconnects the current when the battery is full, and for the next half hour or so it reads 100% but the battery is slowly discharging. This protocol preserves battery longevity. After a while it will top the battery off again. Long story short, 96% charge shortly after unplugging is perfectly normal.

thats funny, my device stays at 100 percent after I unplug it from the charger, then discharges normally. It never drops to 96%, sounds more like a kernel issue to me.

When still running Froyo my Fascinate always displayed 96%-100% upon disconnection after full charge, even if left overnight. After update to GB, the longer it remains on charger after reaching 100%, the lower it drops after disconnecting. Sometimes it's dropped from 100% to 76% as soon as charger is unplugged, if left on charger for too long.
I was informed on another forum that there's trouble with the trickle charge function on GB and it's likely not to be corrected.
Just thought I'd pass that on, for what it's worth.
the battery does that on purpose so it doesn't overcharge and decrease battery life.
in other news, google android people have said more than once that battery calibration does nothing, wiping battery stats will not help anything at all.

I normally Charge it while Battery Calibration is running, then when it hits 100%, I power off the phone and let it finish charging with the power off then onces its "Truly" fully charged I turn the phone back on get into Battery Calibration then press the calibrate button
What's the general consensus on this i.e. Google engineer basically debunking the necessity or benefits of calibrating one's battery?

Hey guys I need some help... I can't seem to figure auto how to corrrectly calibrate my battery. I calolibrated it the other day and now it tells me I have 7% with 3805mv left on the battery. Now maybe I'm wrong but I thought the normal full charge on this phone was around 4200?

Let your phone completely die, pull the battery, and plug in the phone until the missing battery icon shows. Then pop the battery back in and let it charge to 100% WITHOUT turning it on. Once it reaches full charge, power it on. If it still doesn't show, pull the battery, leave the phone plugged in, and put the battery back in once the missing battery icon shows. Let it charge for 15 - 30 minutes, then power it back on. Calibrate the battery, then unplug your phone and let it discharge without break, then let it charge to 100% and you should be good to go. Always works for me.

Just got an S3.
Do you have any pointers to charging and battery practice tips?
Battery came half-full. I charged until full, it just turned 100% and green led.
I now intend to use it until drained, then charge it back up overnight.
Does this full/drain cycle sound like a good idea to you? Would you have drained the battery from new to empty? Same thing, right? As long as there is a pattern to touch the empty and full ends?
No point in those first charges. Mine came at 40% and when it went to 15 I charges it. NO problems or whatsoever

It doesn't matter with these modern batteries. Just charge it anyway you want, use your phone anyway you want. Won't make a difference.

+1 that 20% is a load in of crap, that means you would not be able to plug your phone in to the computer for file transfer unless you have -20% battery cos the computer will charge it.

It should be allowed to charge for 7-8 hours on the first.

My XPERIA X10i charges up to 100%, then stops charging until the battery drops below ~93% and then starts charging again.
So depending on when I unplug the charger, I may or may not have a 100% charged battery.
Clearing the battery stats and checking again can't hurt.
Just give it a good charge for up to 12hours
If you disconnect the charger and then reconnect it again, does it start charging again from 90% upwards?
It won't charge the device when the battery is indicated to be 100% charged, so there still could be a problem.
Good chance to buy a 1800mAh Mugen Power battery. Mine gets from 1 to 3 days depending on use and has a heavily under-clocked CPU over night or when not in use. Seems to spend over half it's time in deep sleep.
Hi there, wiping battery stats doesnt actually do anything in relation to battery level. It was a myth and all placebo effect.
I remember your screen name from a while back when I still had my x10, so it could be the battery itself starting to die.
You could get an extended battery (or just a new stock battery). I had the 3300mah and it was awesome.

Are you also using a different cable?
Try to change your cable instead of your charger and battery happened to me before and it was USB cable.
