I found the solution I guess.
It's under Settings | Developer Options | Stay Awake.
This allow the screen not to turn off while the phone is charged in the car. This is I guess the best solution, I did not find an other. Unless someone would like to use this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/...251bGwsMSwxLDEsIm5sLnN5bnRheGEuY2FmZmVpbmUiXQ

Sounds like it would work! And you're right I would not want to be tapping the screen every 10mins or so!

[Q] Android screen not turning off in sleep mode

Like the title, when I put the phone in sleep mode the screen light will never turn off completely. Anyone know a solution?
why not post in the android area under the persons build you are using? you will get far more support there
When you are in your Spare Parts/Select End Button and check your option. You always have to set it when switching to a new Android build.

CM7 problems...

Okay here are my phone's specs:
Model number - SGH-T959
Android version - 2.3.5
Baseband version - T959UVKA7
Kernel version - 2.6.35.12-ge334261 [email protected] #1
Mod version - CyanogenMod-7-08252011-NIGHTLY-Vibrant
Build number - GRJ90

Here's when the problem started then I'll explain it.
I was trying to install this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=751031
But when I did it said something about CM 3.0 doesn't support a certain kind of script so it aborted.
My problems:
When I turn on my phone it says that the Wi-Fi calling has stopped
I had it set so my phone would vibrate when I press the home bar buttons.
Every time I try to run the Wi-Fi calling ,it stops.
I have it set so when ever I press a button on the on-screen keyboard it should vibrate but it doesn't.
Thanks in advance.
If you need logs then I can get them, just need to tell me where they are.
EDIT - Also, the LEDs on my phone never blink, not when I have an email or text message, nor when I charge my phone. Is this just a limitation with CM7? Or how do I fix it?
Also, I realize that CM7 drains batteries pretty quickly, if you have a suggestion for an easy to install ROM/Kernel that is great at saving batteries, but keeps ADW, and most of the customization options available in CM7, do share.
Thanks again.
Also it seems that my phone is stuck charging at 57%
It's been there for a few hours now.
UPDATE -
I have it now so that the phone vibrates when I press a button with the on screen keyboard
It is charging past 57%
The home bar buttons still do not vibrate even though I have it set so they do.
UPDATE -
The video recording is very choppy. I took a video yesterday and it wasn't this choppy.
Umm so I'm guessing, nobody can help me?

Slow Wake up Lockscreen

Whenever I push my power button to pop up my Lock Screen, it usually takes about 1-2 seconds to react. (same with the home button actually - not so fast as the one on the iphone)
I removed the water effect and I also changed the unlocking mechanism to something else but nothing really helps. Still 1-2 seconds before my screen wakes up.
Is there any way to improve this wake up time? My Google Nexus One was faster, my brothers HTC sensation wakes up faster and my friends Galaxy Nexus and HTC one S wake up faster.
I want my Galaxy S3 to wake up faster aswell! Any tricks, tips?
The phone needs to wake up the modem first. It's a design flaw that can be found at least in the Galaxy S and S2, too. I'm not sure if there's a fix
I think this problem existed in earlier Galaxies as well.
All you have to do is to download Softlocker from the market

Do you use the stock launcher?
T.
you have to disable s-voice's double press of home button.
unlock your phone and launch s-voice.
press the left soft key (menu), settings will popup.
below the language untick the "launch s-voice".
that's it.

Unfortunately this is not work for everybody.
Still there is a delay on my phone, this is not rom nor s-voice related, I think this is samsung thing, I hope they give an attention to this wake up delay...

Someone have found any solution?
no, thats the way deep sleep works
hi guys,
im finding this slightly annoying .... made worse by the fact that the previous rom i was running had a fast wake mod, so this makes my current one seem even slower
try blackbox rom 1.3.1 from darksideagent site, and make sure to select fast wake mod in aroma
cheers

as mentioned by @marcel_miller above, softlocker simply disabled deep sleep and now it's just instant lock and unlock.
thanks. for some reason I couldn't find it on market

Lockscreen flashlight (torch) as on MIUI

I am looking for a modification or an app that causes the LED to light up when in locksreen, as on MIUI. I don't know who came up with this feature on MIUI but its great and to my surprise I didn't found any apps that can do that.
How it works on MIUI?
The phone is in a locked state. You press home button for 0.5 - 1.0 seconds and the flashlight/torch is activated. After holding it for about 5 seconds, the phone vibrates and the flashlight goes into permanent ON state so you can release holding the home button. At any time, if you press home button again, the flashlight/torch is OFF.
How it works on Stock / Neat ROM / possibly everywhere else?
It doesn't.
Is there a way to get this MIUI feature everywhere?
Please, answer.

Protected apps in EMUI 8.0 (Gravity screen for example)

Hi Guys,
I moved from IOS to Android with the lovely mate 10 recently. The feature I miss most is the raise to wake.
After trying different apps, gravity screen is the one that works the best.
However, after lock screen for more than few minutes, the screen wake up stop working.
When I charge my phone, it works 10/10, so i suppose it is related to battery saving features of the EMUI.
Anyone has any suggestion to fix the problem? I have so far tried "ignore battery optimization", "launch manually".
THe app tells me to use protected apps but I do not see anywhere in EMUI settings.
Have you tried toggles in settings>Battery>Launch>Select gravity app>Run in Background

yes i have allowed all three launching methods. (self-trigger, triggered by others and running in background.
The problem seems to be the sensor being turned off after screen goes black for a while.

its more about the EMUI 8 I guess, than the app itself.
Hello guys, Any updates on this issue? I have the same problem.
Thanks

I have found out how to sort it out as per Rogerrynic quote below.
rogerinnyc said:
It's buried, but you have to "ignore battery optimizations" by going into settings, then apps, then clicking the setting button at the bottom of the apps page, then "special access" and then "allow" the apps you want to survive in "ignore battery optimization". At least that's how it's on my Mate 10 (non-pro), so I suspect it's the same for you.
