Then flash stock rom .

1. Backup any contacts, photos etc to PC and remove SIM card
2. Download stock firmware from [Guide+ROMS]Odin Flash+Root Guide & Stock Firmwares LE4/6/8/9/F/D, LF1/2 and flash with Odin
3. Hard Reset *2767*3855#

Follow this video tutorial: http://youtu.be/TEsBwtqY2xE to unroot your device.
Remember to make a backup first, just incase if anything goes wrong.

[Q] Will this process enable me to return the phone to its original state?

I've read on the internet that, before you flash new ROMS, it's advisable to download your original ROM and Kernel and keep it as a backup in case you need to unroot your phone and return it to the original state.
I've searched the internet, but cannot find the exact ROM to match my setup which is as follows:
Baseband version : I9100JCKE1
Kernel Version : [email protected] #2
Build Number : GINGERBREAD.XWKE7
Would the following process work and return my phone to it's original state when needed?
Before flashing a new ROM:
1. Download the XWKE7 Stock Kernel from the first page of the [ROM+Guide]Official i9100 Firmwares KG, KH1/2/3/4, KI1/2/3/4/8, KJ1/2/3 Download thread
2. Load the CF-Root-SGS2_XW_XEU_KE7-v4.0-CWM4.zip kernel via Odin
3. Perform a full backup of the phone, copy it my PC and store it in the same directory as the XWKE7 kernel in point 1.
Now I'm in a position to flash any SGS2 compatible ROM I want.
If I want to return the phone to its original state:
1. Copy the backup to the phone's SD card
2. Restore the backup using ClockWorkMod in Recovery mode
3. Flash the XWKE7 Stock Kernel via Odin.
Voila!
Are there any issues or have I missed the point completely?
Thanks guys.
no, you have no missws any steps.
3rd step is not necessary as the kernel is part of the back up.
you can use that kernel, if youwant to root your phone again.

Thanks. But wouldn't the CWM backup contain the Chainfire rooted kernel and you'd need to flash the stock kernel to unroot it?
Yes you have backed up original firmware but with a different kernel .
Restore and replace kernel zero custom rom counter if needed .
Copy of branded or stock firmware as near to original as possible will give extra safety .

[Q] Restore Galaxy S3 to Factory default

I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 that has CWM installed and i have it rooted. I need to send it back as it has developed a fault. Before doing that i want to unroot it and remove CWM and delete all my data so the phone will be restored to factory default
I have downloaded the relevant Stock firmware (Three in UK ) is it just a case of Flashing it with the stock firmware via Odin will this remove the root/CWM and all the data ?
Cheers

Yes but doing just that is not sufficient if you are trying to get a replacement. Like three other user pointed out, you will need to reset the flash counter to zero.
Sent from Rooted debloated stock Galaxy S3 OG I9300
1. Reset counter using Triangle away from CF
2. Flash stock firmware
3. Hard reset device to remove all trace of modification and any private data from the device storage. Hard reset wipes the phone completely including the internal sdcard so it's like from the factory. to hard reset dial:
Code:

[Q] how to unroot and install stock ROM?

I'm rooted with CF-Auto-Root on a stock ROM. I want to unroot so that I can safely re-root with msskip's Toolkit. How do I get there? I don't care if I have to totally wipe my phone. I have the latest stock ROM from Samsung's web site if needed.
Flash a stock rom via ODIN wipes root .

In post #3 download the auto root for i9300 and unzip to get the tar. file and flash it in Odin. Then for a good custom recovery download and flash Philz touch recovery so you have a good recovery to flash other zips.

hello experts........ recently i have update my phone via OTA received .............. after the updation my usb connection to pc not working........ after the lot of search and solution ........ i have decided to go on flash Original factory rom............. please give me link for original stock rom 4.1.3
and my phone is not root........there is need of rooting or not ????????//
please help me.......... i appreciate your replies.
THERE IS NO stock rom 4.1.3 . if you want you can use kies to upgrade or initialise your phone firmware. or if you like you can flash any rom from sammobile.com just make sure the rom is for your phone. check model no. all firmwares are official.the firmware packages include odin . a tool for flashing. follow instructions. extract zip ands flash md5 file in pda in odin. DO NOT FLASH ANYTHING OTHER THAN PDA. if the phone doesn't boot or boot loops. factory reset phone should get it to boot up . also the usb connection can be fixed from kies . kies will install the drivers to enable the usb connection. If you do decide to flash by using odin . make sure kies is not running while you are u0sing odin.THERE ARE DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS IN THE STICKIES HERE http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2344125 NO NEED TO ROOT
