Anyone with a 2012 Sony Xperia able to answer this for me. There is a low battery alert pop up at 15%, 10% and 5%, is there another pop up alert after 5%? Anyone know from first hand experience? Thanks,
No, it just shuts down.

Hi all,
Yesterday night, I woke up and observed that my galaxy s2 is making continuous beeps. These beeps are exactly same as battery full notification sound but in low volume.
Battery life was 49% at 10PM when I connected the charger. It was charging fine. Later I fell asleep and woken by this continuous beeps at 2AM.
Then I had to remove the battery to stop it. When I restarted my phone battery life was 13%!!
Again I put it on charging and morning battery was 100% charged. No issues after that.
Can anyone help me understand why it happened and the reason for continuous beeps ?
PS:
Checked in forum on this issue, could not find any details specific to my scenario. Sorry if I've missed something.
Thanks in advance
Have you Calibrated the battery?

Problem resolved?
Hi guys, I am having the same issue... my phone starts beeping and eventually stops after a while. But then it starts beeping again! it's getting really annoying now
My phone continuously beeps when I have a missed SMS or call. It won't stop until I pull the notification panel down to see what it was. Does anyone know how to disable this?
What happens to your phone when you disable it?
I noticed that without this mod, when your battery becomes full it gives out a bleep and then STOPS CHARGING. You will notice in your battery usage graph that it will start mapping out your usage when you receive the notification. What'll normally happen is that when you wake up you'll see a few hours of use already and a little battery drain.
With the mod you don't get the full notification and when you do wake up you will get 100 percent battery upon unplugging the device.
Now is this safe to just let it continue charging even if the battery is full? Should I be concerned about my batteries health?
The mod should have just disabled the notification and the warning tone. When the phone reaches 100% the charging stops and acts like a trickle charger to maintain it at 100%
Yeah but like I said, if you've tried the unmodified VR it charges up to a 100, bleeps the notification and then stops charging at all. That's why when you wake up you're prolly gonna end up at around 93%
I have i717 AT&T updated stock ICS rooted. I set the device in Power Saving mode to kick in at 50% battery life. Once it hits the 50% battery life mark it displays a notification window saying "Battery level below 50%. Power saving will run. Continue?" It seems this notification pops up almost every time I bring the phone out of rest mode (clicking power button to turn on the screen's lockscreen). It alerts me many times.
It's incredibly annoying when my phone alarm wakes me up in the morning and I'm reaching over to try to slide my finger over the screen to shut off the alarm, but it won't do anything because the damn power saving mode notification window is up and waiting for me to press OK or CANCEL.
Can I disable this notification? I can't find the area to make this setting.
I also looked at installed apps and don't see anything that resembles Power Saving Mode to see if there are any settings I can make through ROMToolbox.
Is this something I can try to disable through Tasker?
Can anyone please advise?
Why is your battery below half first thing in the morning?
You could charge it overnight then the battery will be full when your alarm goes off.
Otherwise to turn off that notification will take some editing of the rom.
That notification is there because power saving mode under clocks the cpu amongst other things that sacrifice performance for battery life... if when you want to unlock the device and run it full speed for just a couple minutes you hit cancel on that notification... or ok to run at the throttled specs of power saving mode.
I played around with power saving mode when I first got the note and noticed that any power saved by the throttling was wasted by me waiting on it with the screen on lol . So I just bought a second battery and external charger.
I am of the old school of "rechargeable batteries" where I let the battery drain to near 100% before charging again, and when I have it plugged in for charging I let it get 100% before disconnecting. I don't know if the batteries today don't have the problem of losing its lifespan due to incomplete charge sessions.
I get about 48hrs between charges with the workload I put on the device...NOT a phone gamer or constant "feelings" updater on facebook.
Studacris (I feel odd saying that) - mind if I pass an issue by you for your opinion?

I'm reply #7 - I thought I found the issue of my default ringtone/notification sound resetting to default all the time...but it JUST happened again.
Advise?
The chemistry in batteries nowadays is much improved as well as software for charging:
True a battery does have a finite amount of charge cycles, however a charge cycle doesn't count add each time it's plugged in, it's each time a full 100% charge and drain have occurred:
drain halfway, charge full, drain half, charge= 1 cycle and so forth.
Furthermore overcharging isn't possible. android stops charging at full and the lets the battery sip on 1% for a while then starts charging eventually once needed.
And with such a low cost for a replacement battery it really isn't much to worry about.
so i have this weird problem, my battery when it runs low at 9 percent, i immediately get a new notification
and on that new notification it says 0 percent and right after that notification my phone closes and doesnt start up till i charge it again...
anyone know what can be the problem/solution? im on full stock, locked bootloader etc.
regards,
-ozi
If it's just 9% then you have nothing to worry about. Our batteries doesn't like to run to 0%. If your level is between 10-20%, you should start thinking about charging.

well ok :d
i usually dont let my battery go lower than 15 percent but i am worrying if i need an urgent call or something, anyway im wearing an external battery with me now :d just in case
thanks for your reply.
External battery for X+ :>?
I check the battery level every evening and calculate how much will I need tomorrow. If I am not planning to play games nor browse the internet for one hour, 40% left should be more than enough .
I have a Sony Xperia P. Few days ago i changed my old battery to a new one, after that my battery level jumps high dramatically . If i remove the charger when the battery level at 49% and after like 10 minutes it automatically jumps high (90%). Every time this is happening and i did root, repair the software and factory reset the phone and problem is same. Anyone faced the same or have any idea about this issue?
I'm pretty sure this is gonna be pretty quick end of your battery. I don't really know anything about its lifespan, but I have pretty similar problem sometimes.
My idea? Try to discharge your battery to its flat end. Even try to turn discharged phone again and again - until it won't turn on again. Then plug your charger and charge your phone to full once it being turned off. When LED will turn green and battery indicator will show it is full - just power on the phone with charger still plugged in. Let it settle, then reboot. (charger still plugged...). See if anything changed. Try to discharge and charge battery in various ways - once slower, once faster. This will give some more info about your battery life.
Btw. is this battery Sony genuine?
Short answer: Your battery is dying, get a new one.
