[Q] Xperia Active: stock ICS update - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

I want to know from those that already updated their Xperia Active phones to stock ICS, how is it?
How does it feel?
Is it more snappy?
Are there any bugs/problems that weren't on stock GB or are fixed with ICS.
How is the battery life compared to stock GB?
This thread is a refference to all Xperia Active users that want to delay their upgrade due to bugs.
Thank you!

All Xperia device have their own advantage Active is for active people that like to use their phone during sport or something like that (eg. Exercise),Mini Pro is for people that want a mini phone with easy to chat, mini is for people that have small hand and Live With Walkman is for people that like a 'bombastic' sound
So,in other words : All xperia user received same bug,and currently waiting for an update for a fix...
Bug : No LED when received message during sleep mode
Battery life : Somehow draining when using Music Player, playing game,WiFi,Data Usage...

JB Roms compared to ICS ?

Hi,
I've been monitoring the release of JB roms since the beginning. But told myself not to try them until they were completely stable. It seems now that stable ROMs are coming out.
I currently have ICS installed, MiniCMSandwich, which I am not really happy about. I have really bad battery life and bad preformance. (probably my own fault though...) But even so I think the time has come to start thinking about JB. What do you guys think. Is it too soon?
Will JB ever be as good as ICS? Or as good as GB for that matter? And what's with the camera in JB? I see a lot of ROMs mentioning that it doesn't work?
Greetings.
JB will be better than ICS as ICS is better than GB, the problem here is that JB is not officially out and honestly idk if it will be for our devices, therefore, we cant have fully working or stable roms until sony releases an official jb update so developers can extract what they need for their roms work like they should, same thing happened when ICS came out, about MiniCMsandwich, thats the best ICS rom i have tried, had to quit cuz the developer left and that means no more support or updates for the rom idk what your problem could be but I had a wonderful time with that rom, no battery drain whatsoever, it depends how you use it, but I know theres some battery drain issue with stock based ICS roms :/

man that much reflection,:good: and hopefully kick sony jelly bean for our phones. CM10 and reviewer of FXP? has proven that it seemed?
I use CyanogenMod 10 as my main ROM and its great. There are still some major bugs though: FM radio, camera preview, video recording, video playback (?) and more.
But I find it stable enough for daily use

I was on cyanogen timescape and I liked it... but am on paranoid android now and its a very good experience!! Everything is little smoother than before and you get all the extra features from jellybean. Its bugfree enough for daily use ! The bugs I've encouterd are
1: random reboots ... like 2 or 3 times a day.. I use my mob a lot
2: video playback causes the phone to freeze n reboot... disabling HW overlay is supposed to fix this but that dosent work for me.
3: front camera dosent work. Don't need it as of now but I might have to switch back to ics when I do
I lost the apps that I stored in my sd card through link2sd coz the rom dosent supposrt ext3 yet.
The camera works fine and the shutter speed is sooo much better than ICS . The new status bar and google now are awsum
Its definitely worth trying out bro

Some known issues :
Launcher forgets sd card apps
Just that do not expect great battery life as 3.4 kernel isn't the best for battery. The rom is also my daily driver and i can get a days usage..I will not lie to any of you to brag about my rom..
.
Thanks!
SJBX V3
Hello. First I want to give thanks for your work. I downloaded the latest version 3, but I have many problems:
- The phone becomes very hot.
- Long time to charge the battery. Yesterday in 4 hours did not reach 100%.
- I loaded the phone at night with 90% percent, and I went to sleep and ... was extinguished without battery to get up!
And I think preference level has more options Cyanogenmod based version 10.1.
Is there any solution to the issue of battery consumption?
patch for neo?
Is there any patch for neo of this rom??
for battery consumption , just wait for a day or two for the rom to stabilize. But battery life will not be as good as android 4.0 or 4.1 . As the kernel also is in dev stages.
@Dharmesh8294 patch not there as of yet.

It is true! The first time I installed the rom the battery is consumed in a few hours. Now the second battery charge seems to last longer (though admittedly still far from Super Jelly Bean 5.5).
As for RAM consumption and performance is much better than Super Jelly Bean 5.5. Incredibly fast and quick, perfect. In the following versions ask you to improve the front camera (not working) and greatly increase the battery.
Take this opportunity to thank you for your work, as we can not renew our phone (in my case money) greatly appreciate you work. Thank you very much, keep it up, congratulations from Spain!
pretty good RAM management but facing battery drain
I am seeing battery drain from yesterday with no apps or mods installed..I m using kernel inside Zip. file. But very good work
Asking about fixes
Some known issues :
1.front cam fc(will be fixed asap )
2.back button exits the keyboard and the app both ( source fix required )
Plz I really want to flash the ROM the answer to the above decided whether or not will I flash it.
Thank You

There's a CyberShot for this rom, or i have to install a app from playStore?
Note: This mod don't work:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2308368
Sorry for my bad english.
I have been using this rom as my daily rom. The Ram management is quite good. Rom is really smooth and fast.Random Reboots are still there and brightness level is quite low, u need to keep it at almost half level. Lockscreen is also too fast . Never experienced this kind of smoothness while using lockscreen. I really appreciate Dev's work for bringing this level of smoothness.
Hope random reboots and battery performance issues will be solved in upcoming days :good::laugh:

Hi. Thanks a lot for this ROM. This is the best 4.2.2 I've tried. I have tested different releases of LegacyXperia (@shufuking) and DarkDefender, but this is the best, so soft, and the battery life is great (I use greenify) using 3g everytime, like CM10 I think. Ram management is ok too, always up to 150 Mb free in my Arc S. Still testing, I'll report

[Q] Best performance Locked Bl~ Xperia P

Hello, I have such a problem, namely my Phone laggs Even when I am writting my nypon goes retard :S My smartphone is running stock JB... Could somebody advise me, what rom is the best? Is it worth to downgrade my firmware to ICS or GB? Indeed Xperia P isn't a hight end phone, but i suppose it should be way smoother...
Thanks in advance!
Sent from my LT22i using xda app-developers app
Which stock JB version you have?
No one can advise you what is the best, it's subjective, you decide what is best.
ICS was ok but I like the JB interface and features more.
How exactly you phone goes retard?
I've tried a few ROMs and finaly went back to stock with a few moded apps like phone and dialer (much easier for mea to read white on black) a script to save power and Greenify to control missbehaved apps and I am happy with it.

Final rom project for Xperia

Hi everyone
I bought xperia mini pro (sk17i) 2 years ago now and i'm sure that this phone is unique and should have a final version of his rom and kernel. Now phones are bigger and bigger and leave physical keyboard, thats boring so why don't we make our xperia MDPI better than ever ?
The project is nice but will take long hard work and many decisions : will the rom be based on the stock, aosp, caf ?
IDEA
Android L is coming soon, and it will be port on the xperia z3. Maybe a port with fine tweak will be great, i think we should oc the processor to 1,3 ghz to smartass v2 to haave a good battery and general performance.
But question is : what we want on the rom ? Pure android ? Sony's android ? or stock MDPI xperia style ?
So what you think of that ? I could do all of that if you tell your opinion
REgards
Stock android with some sony stuff..!!

Good idea but the question is witch sony stuff ? I think the general ui might be ported, but witch one ? Xperia z3 ui (with launcher) may be slow....

Do a pure AOSP of KK!
tomorow i will start to make a plan but i think that i'll need a team because i can't do everything, like the kernel. So if your are interesting just pm me
Do you care about batterie life ?
i wish for pure sony on kitkat version, having cybershot(not available but please), fm radio(not available but please), bravia engine, xloud, with updated sony apps like movies walkman and i think quikpic is the best gallery app, cyanogen app launcher but pure sony themes and logo apps it should be nice too if the rom had viperforandroid sound mod with good ram and battery management. i think i am contented with my live with walkman if this rom is push and begin to develop
this my i think my wants for my live with walkman
mean that i will make a theme or use existing like this one. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2724836 Can you tell me what about your battery life ? Is it enough good to overclock to 1.5 GHZ ?

overclocking will drain battery faster, make it to the standard and maybe i suggest to build it with undervolt support. yup that theme is awesome

[DISCUSSION] Xperia Sola Best Battery Life and Performance

Olay guys I don't want to insult any developer nor do I want to start a war here
I am quite frustrated about my Xperia sola that it does not sattle for me in any rom I tested
Gb is too old
Ics is too laggy
Jb is good but iy has keyboard crashes and when persistent keyboard is used it starts to la
Kit kat has poor battery life
Lollipop is on initial stages which is highly unstable
I wanted to ask you guys that which rom are you using and why?
Plus how much battery life lasts in that rom in normal usage

any ICS rom should be best for battery life, i have experienced many JB roms (all are based on munjeni's port? so it's actually the same rom with some tweaks) and they drain the battery very fast, which gets me to the second issue, you should check what kernel you are using, because that can make a difference too, what governors you are using, if you are using greenify or amplify to reduce system load.
anyway, the sola is a poor phone, except for the dual core cpu i find it very problematic, with the touchscreen errors while charging, battery drain jumps (all of a sudden 20% of the battery goes away), charging problems and so on, it's an experiment sony tried but it seems it didn't work out that well, the floating touch which I think is the source of all these problems never caught on and was not added to any device since then, still the sola is a special device for the ones that want a phone with special features (e.g. the only phone in the world with floating touch).
