[Q] Best performance Locked Bl~ Xperia P - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Hello, I have such a problem, namely my Phone laggs Even when I am writting my nypon goes retard :S My smartphone is running stock JB... Could somebody advise me, what rom is the best? Is it worth to downgrade my firmware to ICS or GB? Indeed Xperia P isn't a hight end phone, but i suppose it should be way smoother...
Thanks in advance!

Which stock JB version you have?
No one can advise you what is the best, it's subjective, you decide what is best.
ICS was ok but I like the JB interface and features more.
How exactly you phone goes retard?
I've tried a few ROMs and finaly went back to stock with a few moded apps like phone and dialer (much easier for mea to read white on black) a script to save power and Greenify to control missbehaved apps and I am happy with it.

[Q] Xperia Active: stock ICS update

I want to know from those that already updated their Xperia Active phones to stock ICS, how is it?
How does it feel?
Is it more snappy?
Are there any bugs/problems that weren't on stock GB or are fixed with ICS.
How is the battery life compared to stock GB?
This thread is a refference to all Xperia Active users that want to delay their upgrade due to bugs.
Thank you!

JB Roms compared to ICS ?

Hi,
I've been monitoring the release of JB roms since the beginning. But told myself not to try them until they were completely stable. It seems now that stable ROMs are coming out.
I currently have ICS installed, MiniCMSandwich, which I am not really happy about. I have really bad battery life and bad preformance. (probably my own fault though...) But even so I think the time has come to start thinking about JB. What do you guys think. Is it too soon?
Will JB ever be as good as ICS? Or as good as GB for that matter? And what's with the camera in JB? I see a lot of ROMs mentioning that it doesn't work?
Greetings.
JB will be better than ICS as ICS is better than GB, the problem here is that JB is not officially out and honestly idk if it will be for our devices, therefore, we cant have fully working or stable roms until sony releases an official jb update so developers can extract what they need for their roms work like they should, same thing happened when ICS came out, about MiniCMsandwich, thats the best ICS rom i have tried, had to quit cuz the developer left and that means no more support or updates for the rom idk what your problem could be but I had a wonderful time with that rom, no battery drain whatsoever, it depends how you use it, but I know theres some battery drain issue with stock based ICS roms :/

man that much reflection,:good: and hopefully kick sony jelly bean for our phones. CM10 and reviewer of FXP? has proven that it seemed?
I use CyanogenMod 10 as my main ROM and its great. There are still some major bugs though: FM radio, camera preview, video recording, video playback (?) and more.
But I find it stable enough for daily use

Probably not ... 2011 devices were not even designed for ics..

I was on cyanogen timescape and I liked it... but am on paranoid android now and its a very good experience!! Everything is little smoother than before and you get all the extra features from jellybean. Its bugfree enough for daily use ! The bugs I've encouterd are
1: random reboots ... like 2 or 3 times a day.. I use my mob a lot
2: video playback causes the phone to freeze n reboot... disabling HW overlay is supposed to fix this but that dosent work for me.
3: front camera dosent work. Don't need it as of now but I might have to switch back to ics when I do
I lost the apps that I stored in my sd card through link2sd coz the rom dosent supposrt ext3 yet.
The camera works fine and the shutter speed is sooo much better than ICS . The new status bar and google now are awsum
Its definitely worth trying out bro

ICS or GB? What should I use? I guess this question is not only mine...

Greetings my dear friends.
I'm here to give my verdict on the upgrade to ICS after 2 months using the ICS Stock ROM I could finish something. Read and understand.
I have an XPERIA U ST25a retail brazilian.
Sure, the stock ICS ROM is very attractive, all good new stuff found in Android 4.0 are very good, like the new UI or settings menu, the toggles easily accessible are very useful, but the apparent instability and slowness (in moments) make me think why I bought this phone, and also think about going back to the old but great stock GB ROM.
And yes, i use ICS ROM, I made my own modifications and tweaks to the all-bloated ICS Stock ROM get the maximum performance.
But the bugs are really ridiculous.
The battery only charges sometimes if the phone is restarted, otherwise the indicator will be locked at 39%, for example.
The camera seems to be slow compared to the old Stock GingerBread ROM.
The open / close applications is not slow, but sometimes the application takes to respond as if something sucking the system performance.
All these bugs may (or may not) be Sony's problem, but since the era of my old devices I have these SAME problems in some ICS ROMs (I've also tested the FXP CM9 rom, and believe me, if you fill up with apps, will be slow too).
It seems that Android 4.0 ICS is always buggy and slow, and then Eclair 2.1 (horrible) then followed by the 2.2 Froyo (good).
My conclusion: Don't upgrade if you hate a phone will be a little bit slower.
I just do not go back to stock GB ROM why I still enjoy a good user interface instead of performance.
But if you do not like one bit of minimal slowdowns or some bugs, DO NOT bother upgrading to ICS. Just a beautiful day, we have the long awaited Jelly Bean. Even if it is a CM10, the "Butter Project" realizes disappear with lags. And all these little problems may be fixed.
I just let my experience here on this upgrade does not seem that there be a good idea.
Thank you very much
What ics firmware build number are you talking about?
Sent from my Jellybean Xperia S
About any ICS firmware. I've tested B.1.10, B.1.54 and C.1.10 and of these three have similar and different problems. Its a problem about android 4.0 that have been build focused on research data...
Ics is a very ram hungry ...if u have a device which has ram 512 or below that, them trust me it's best to stay at GB.. In my Xperia P ICS eats up 500MB of my ram.i am just left with 430 MB of usable memory...

But in android free ram doesn't mean more performance, lag will only appear when RAM reaches the "lag level" (30~25 free ram)
Here on my XPU i have 120~140MB free and i don't have any lag. BTW if you install a bunch of crappy apps and let the bloatware of Sony installed you will certainly will get some lag. Even on a XPP with 1GB of RAM you can feel some lags, i've already tested yet!
Yes if you say it like that.. Then yes under a microscope ICS does lag a bit.it's inevitable even the quad cores lag in ics from time to time.. But hey that's why there is JB for the rescue...

I think lag by alot of app is open. So I endtast and free ram. It Work fine with me.
I prefer the GB which is less power hungry on RAM compared to ICS.
ICS, I find it laggy.
Most games lag on ICS compared to GB.
For me, if I'll choose, I'll go for Custom ROM based on ICS(not the stock one that sony distributed). If you don't like stock ROM then I'll stick to GB because ICS consumes more RAM than GB.

[Q] Fastest ROM

Hey guys,
This may seem to be a little cliched, but I wanted to flash a really responsive ROM.
I have sony xperia neo V bought about a year and a half back.
I have Cynogenmod 9 flashed
I really think ROMs are subjective, hence I wanted to have my wants ready:-
1. It must be responsive, dialer must be fast. Touchscreen shouldn't lag. ( cynogen9 after some days is unfortunatly sluggish ;( )
2. I dont care about looks. It can be as ugly as possible. I want functionality.
3. HD gaming and all are not needed. I need to play basic games.
4. FM Radio must work. I really miss it in cynogenmod9
5. WiFi, bluetooth, 2g/3g, camera: all must work. I dont want them to get enhanced. Just work.
6. Speed.
7. Froyo, ICS, JB. I dont care. I want a responsive, fast phone.
Can you guys please help me out with that. I tried to find a few ROMs, but none describes if FM works. Almost everyone says its fastest out there. I think you guys can help out according to my needs.
PS: The Stock rom sucked. And after ICS update it sucked and bit both.

i tried alot of roms out there for neo v and if you really want a responsive, fast phone,...buy a new phone...
all roms get laggy after some time of usage.
codename x has only a few bugs, is quite responsive (but after a week you have to reboot because of heavy lags) and stable.
someone also said, that cm7 has great performance on neo v, but i haven't tried it so far.
JJ's Hybrid ROM, Ultimate HD, Jelly Sandwich, Ice Cream Purness are all great roms with only a few bugs, stable and if you reboot your phone every 1-2 days they are all quite fast.
I preffer JJ's as it has pure AOSP feeling and i cant remember that it has any bugs but Ultimate HD might be a little faster than the other ICS roms.
There are tons of other ics roms, but they are all very similar in performance.
The fastest rom imo is polished blood but it is not really stable with alot of bugs (no hdmi, no fm iirc, camera not fully working...) (well didnt used it for quite a while, maybe it is better now)
i am about to try out pure xperia hd. the creator claims ice cream purness with better performance. that would be great as icp from thillinac is one of the best ics roms for sure and if it would have a little better (hopefully long term) performance, it could be the perfect rom.
ICS ROMs are very laggy...
GB: X-GAMER, Codename
JB: AOSP by mike or AOKP

And if you remove one of your requirements I.e gaming you can install supercharger script you won't face any lag ever even if you don't restart your phone
Although you won't need it on fusion kernel coz it's awesome

Try moAOKP with Fusion 5.0 or 5.1

It's recommend to restart your phone in 1-2 days
As apps start locking memory space (ram)
And eventually your phone becomes laggy

[Q] [U] recommend me a stock ICS based ROM please

hi, just received new U (replacement for failed one), i can't make any sense of the U dev forum. it seems most of the promising ROMs are abandoned, and most of the busy ROMs are too complex or have issues.
looking for
- stock based
- locked BL
- stable, all features working (GPS, led bar etc)
- decent battery life
- in development
- not v1 !
- lots of free RAM. the #1 issue with 512MB phones with ICS imho.
- ideally pre-rooted
- with a single .zip to flash from CWM
was looking at Aroma or Zperience, something like those.
if i can't see something that looks usable i'll go with the Speed Droid utility again (stock .54, with bloat removed).
if no one has better idea i'm going to try
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2163800
looks slightly complicated to install but worth a go. i like that it's been out a while so hopefully not too buggy..?
There are no best rom . You have to try and see if it works for you or not. Jb experience and Terra are good . Also read review, helps in deciding
Sent from my ST25i using xda premium
Terra i hadn't heard of but it's pretty nice. though not a particularly "light" rom, lots of sony bloat in there still..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2141726&page=56
why happened to zperience?
At least give a try
xperiance is also good
Try the NoSh1t ROM. Perfect for ICS connoisseurs. Extremely light and fast. Other choice is the Kings ROM
