[Q] Import SMS/MMS from ICS to GB - Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo, Pro

Hi all,
How can I import all my SMS/MMS from ICS rom to GB?
I tried MyBackup and Titanium (also with "incompatibile roms"/"system data migrate"/"whatever it's called in english" checked), but both cause FCs.
Thanks from advance

My phone explorer. for phone you need client, get it on google play. Pc app download from google. Then you can do backup even via wifi, no need to connecting cables..
Though I'm not sure about mms, but you can try.

Sms backup+
Via Tapatalk 2 on MIUI V4

Well, it seems that none of these apps can backup and RESTORE mms.
I've found another phone manager: MOBILedit, but it can restore only in full version and I didn't test it.
There is also an app in Play Store, that doesn't need PC: "MMS Backup Restore" by Night Wind, it backups both SMS and MMS. I didn't try to restore though (I'm staying on ICS).

My backup pro can

Try MyPhoneExplorer

When updating do not do a factory reset. So you'll have all your existing data even after the update. Now check if this app works in ICS and backup using it. Then do a factory reset(If u need one) and restore it again
usually backup/restore app save everything in a simple txt file, so i think there's no problem to backup in GB and restore in ICS
isn't google automatically update it? why do you need another app?

For messages i usually use 'Backup to Gmail' app from Market.
I had no problems with restoring on ICS messages exported from GB.
To backup contacts
tap options key->backup contacts->memorycard(backup to) it will generate a xxx.vcf
To backup sms
download this
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...wsMSwxLDEsIm1vYmkuaW5mb2xpZmUuc21zYmFja3VwIl0.
just click backup to backup the messages and copy the folder called "SMSbackup"
now place the xxx.vcf and folder "SMSbackup" and saved it in your pc or in your gmail
account as a draft
after updating to ICS
just install the app again and replace the folder back and click restore your messages
will be restored automatically (tested and it is working)
to restore contact
go to contacts tap option key importan contact and choose the vcf file
Mobile Backup 2
I use this
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsIm1vYmlsZWhvbWUuYmFja3VwIl0.
A simple App to backup and restore your phone data via SD card anytime anywhere.
This App easily backup and restore your mobile data (Calendar, Contacts, SMS and Call Log) in SD card. The backup data is stored in the root directory of SD card.

Works on GB as well as ICS
I can recommend 'Backup to Gmail' app from Market - works like a charm...
SMSBackup! No doubt, I'm using that one and no problem.

[Q]Titanium Backup Question

Hi guys,
I am considering flashing a ROM to my phone (something with I have not yet done) but obviously wouldn't like to lose my apps, SMS, etc.
Is it possible to download titanium backup on the S5830i, flash a new ROM and then restore everything to how it was on the stock ROM?
Many thanks.
Titanium backup is good and it works 2 but it quiet slow processs.... And for me it sks.... I use android commander and install all apps back to mobile via pc and use myphoneexplorer to backup messages and other stuff... U should try it... It wont back app data.. But for me it works take almost 7 minutes for all process

This section is for android development. Don't ask questions here!
U cannot restore stock rom with titanium backup, for that install clockwork recovery mod and backup your current rom(a must step before flashing any custom rom)
U can install titanium backup on your phone, u can backup all your apps using it and then restore those apps once you are on custom rom.
I guess this is the wrong section.
Sent from my GT-S5830i using Tapatalk 2
If you use titanium backup to backup your apps...when you flash your new rom, restore using the app+data option and it will re-install the app and restore it the the specific time when you backed it up. Ie: coin dozer lvl 10 (backup)..restore app (lvl 1)..restore app+data (lvl 10)
Or Dark Summoner..you can player migrate to another device / rom..but it takes a week before you can do it again. If you backup DS with titanium..amd restore it when running ypur new rom..you wont have to wait 5 days to transfer: )

First, as someone mentioned, it is in wrong section, please refer to guides. It should be in S5830i General Section.
Now for the TB, you can use titanium backup to backup apps + data ( what u done in the app, like saving levels/stuff in games) and restore them in the new ROM, however you CAN'T backup SMS as far as I know.
If you want a nicer solution you can use CWM and do a NanDroid backup ( a backup of the whole Stock ROM with sms and apps and everything) Incase you fail installing the custom ROM so u can revert back to the one you had before
It is possible to backup sms and call logs. I use "sms backup & restore" and "call logs backup & restore" app in the market. Its free a d backup perfectly. Not a single info missing.
For contacts, I cant find an app that backup perfectly as it is at the first place. I use "backup contacts". But lost contact pictures and contact group.
*if there's someone here know any app that can put contacts back into groups after restore from backup, please tell me. Thanks! ^_^

I'm a little problem with titanium:in the list of app there isn't super users and so i can't do a back up of its updating....
Why is it for general section? Shouldn't it be on the Q&A section or this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2089279 ?

[Q] Properly backing up MIUI sms'es to regular Android

Hi. Thing is that I've been using MIUI for a long time now but I wanna use regular Android now and I've like 7K SMS'es that I wanna bring with me. I've tried a whole bunch of SMS backup tools but they all seems to import the messages in a wrong order even though the dates are right. Extracting the messages from a Nandroid doesn't work because MIUI uses a different sms database format or something.
So I'm just wondering if anybody can help me with this or have any experience.
Thanks
How about using thirdparty sms backup app from market to backup the sms on miui rom that u use, then after u flash another rom just use the same app to restore the sms. Its not that hard to figure that out.
Anyway "sms backup and restore" by ritesh sahu never failed me, on stock, miui, or cm.

Titanium backup has an option to backup and restore messages in XML format. Give that a try. I usually use SMS backup and restore by Ritesh Sahu.

I prefer SMS Backup and Restore from market. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.riteshsahu.SMSBackupRestore&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5yaXRlc2hzYWh1LlNNU0JhY2t1cFJlc3RvcmUiXQ..
Contacts I have sync. with google on gmail account so when you add new contact and you turn sync on if youre on wifi or even mobile data. all your phone contacts are sync. When you reinstall phone all you have to do is add your google account and turn on sync for contacts in phone settings.
Or maybe you can try this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.idea.backup.smscontacts&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5pZGVhLmJhY2t1cC5zbXNjb250YWN0cyJd .
If you dont want to install it over and over again from market try this for exporting installed apps without userdata to .apk file on your sd card. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.infolife.appbackup&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsIm1vYmkuaW5mb2xpZmUuYXBwYmFja3VwIl0.

TB has binary and xml backup/restore for some system data. I did it from GB to ICS for call log and messages using xml.
For the contacts I always have used sync with Google as Harviak said.

Messaging is crashing on new ROM

Hi everyone
First i'd like to say sorry for my english, because its not very good, but i hope we will understand each other
I installed my first custom ROM today, its a Jelly Blast from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=33769086
I used an app called "SMS Backup & Restore" from google play to save my messages. This app saves msgs in a .xml format. After installing this ROM i restored all apps with "Titanium Backup", got into "SMS Backup.." and tried to restore my msgs. It was a long process, almost an hour of waiting (i have over 9000 messages), but everything seemed to be ok. After this i got into messaging and all i saw was "messaging not responding"...
I tried to download Go SMS, but the same thing happens.
I really need these messages, can i do something with it?

You can restore SMS through Titanium Backup, you don't need a separate app for it. I think you should go back to stock, use Titanium Backup to backup SMS, flash it again, download Titanium Backup, select the backup and then choose restore data only. That's how I did it with all the roms I have flashed , including Jelly Blast.
