Hi, I´ve bought a usb otg cable for my U expecting to solve the little amount of internal memory that this little one has but I don´t know if the thing I want to do is even possible.
I can play any file in the external memory using Astro but the Music app doesn´t find the songs that are outside the internal memory, I´ve tried some other players but that doesn´t work either.
Is there any way of playing the songs on the usb as if they were in the internal memory?
PD: Thanks in advance and sorry for my english!

Download Stick Mount from the Market
Format your Micro Stick in FAT32 format
And then try running music from Power AMP or other compatible appls

Does anyone know if HTC Audio Manager lags while it searches the memory card at all? If so is there another player that will not lag as much as HTC's audio manager?
P.S. And please don't say WMP Windows Media Player is an abomination

What do you mean it slows down? Like when you open Audio Manager and it searches for music?
It does on mine
I have a 8gb micro SDHC and by the time I was using Audio Manager I could see all the songs, in fact, I didn't have the whole SD card for it, I used most of it, about 5, 6gb and it worked fine. Now I updated to windows mobile 6.5 and i wanna find the Audio Manager for it, but "I still haven't found, what I'm looking for..." (ahhaha, that was a stupid joke, I know!)
I don't know if anybody else has any issues with google music not recognizing music stored on their sd card, if their phone already has internal storage, but I have noticed on my HTC Amaze that google music will only recognize the music on the internal storage and not all of the songs I had on my micro sd. Is it possible to modify google music to read or find music from more than one location on your phone?
PS I have more music than what would fit on the the phones storage so moving songs from micro SD to the phones internal storage would not be an option.
Delete The google music app and then reinstall it from some other source ! Maybe there's some problem in the APK !

I talked to another amaze owner that had the same problem. The issue is that google music will only recognize music files that are saved directly on the root of the SD card. As soon as the files are moved into a folder within the SD card it stops recognizing that the music is there anymore.

what phone do you have? does it have internal storage and a sd card slot? I have it on my nexus one and it has no problem recognizing music on the phone at all. I think something about having more than one storage place makes google music get all weird.

Hi... not sure if this is an adriod, galaxy or sd card problem so please bear with me...
i have the S2 and all ok... does all it should but in the past week i have noticed that if i put music on it to the internal sd card all is ok. if i transfer the music to the ext sd card suddenly it says it cant play that type of file... finds them ok but cant play them. if i transfer them off the sd card and back onto the internal, either using cable and pc or just android file manager, then they play fine again.
the sd card is formatted and not a fake... all other things work on it like photos, apps etc... just mp3 files by the looks of things...
anyone any suggestions please...???
Hi,
which music player do you use? For example, in PowerAMP there is an option to rescan the library, maybe that can help you?

hi... use winamp and also the generic music player both show the titles but wont play the music when on the sd card... but both will play it when in the internal memory...
thanks
I have tested it in both Stock and CM 13 ..the audio gets breaking in all the music players i have used...(stock music player, power amp , google music)..it doesn't occur too often, in a span of 1 hour it happens like 2 or 3 times...does any one have this problem ....i am using KIW L-22 with CM 13...
Probably a bad track. I have been listening to audio books at home, and I play music in car through my phone. I've never had this problem.
I had it pretty bad on stock, but it's less so on CM13.
Are you playing it from an SD card, or the internal memory?

Could be, transfer the same song to your internal storage and play it from there. Are you having this problem with headphones? Try changing your headphones. Let us know if you were able to find the culprit.
I am using a Class 2 SD which is bottom of the barrel. I have my audiobooks and songs on it and it doesn't stutter.

Mine is a class2 Sandisk, 128gb. Notionally it should be fine.
I've not noticed it when playing tracks from internal storage, but I haven't got a lot there. I'll have a play and see.

Awesome
By the way. I just got this phone yesterday via the Newegg $160 sale. Love the phone. I noticed the same audio stutter and skips. My files are on the SDCard and it's a 633x (95MB/s) from Lexar (64Gb). I was able to eliminate the problems by turning on audio proxy buffering in n7player. Works great. It's using the local micro server to stream the music to the player (on the phone, no data) and there is no more skipping or stutter for mp3s or flacs.
My collection is 40Gb and of course no way to move that to the phone's internal storage.
I had the same issue. Turns out that I formatted my sd card with my phone (fat32). Reformatted with pc to exfat, and now my music plays without stuttering on every music app. I have +100 gb of music, I guess that doesn't work well with fat32 (only foobar2000 could handle it of all the players I tried).
Hi All,
I have the original Droid Turbo which has no option to expand storage via SD card. I would like to expand my storage via micro USB drive/OTG (On The Go) to download my Google Play Music songs since I don't have the data to stream.
Question: If I buy a micro USB storage expansion drive, will I be able to download songs from Google Play Music to it, then plug in the drive for access to the downloaded music when I get ready to listen to it? Also, will I have the ability to specify that Google Play Music songs should be downloaded to the storage expansion drive instead of internal memory (32GB)?
Thanks so much for any help that you can give!

Some time ago I put the data on sdcard, I removed and after a couple hours I insert it back and all the music was deleted 1x1 by PlayMusic....
Well that was maybe 8 months ago, maybe you can use now days without issues...
Another thing: I don't know if this app allows or recognize an OTG device...
