Get apps i have purchased without wifi? - Motorola Droid X2

i bought 4 games on the big sale that had the other day maybe still going on but i have no wifi/around is there any safe way to get the games i own from the store without pirating them?

You should be able to still download them on 3g/4g it'll just take longer. Correct me if I'm wrong.

You're right. It says WIFI next to it because it's a larger file and will consume more resources. I believe when you try to download it, you get a warning about battery life draining faster. Still downloads just fine.

thanks for the replys but i am also on a no service phone

Ohhhhh....hmm

You need wifi or 3G, know someone with 3G/4G phone that can tether? or a store/restaurant with free wifi?

McDonalds usually has free wifi. And usually everyone has a McDonalds! Go to Miccy D's, get your apps and some cheesebugers, man...

Or Starbucks. I'm pretty sure they all have WiFi

Or Panera Bread. They have free WiFi, but they limit you to 30-minutes at a time (at least the one in my area does. )

Before anyone flames you let me clear this up. It's *Unlimited, and not Unlimited. After 5GB they throttle you down below 2G speeds until the end of the current billing cycle. There isn't much you can do about it. Next month try to take it easy with the streaming.
Oh I see. Thanks for that!! I Watch Netflix on my phone cause the home internet got cut! Lol!

Ahh, you didn't know that they cap you at 5GB. It sucks, but you agreed to it. Been there with the home web cut off, and I did the same thing rofl. Oh well, have fun with dial-up. xD
Lol well at least the msg the sent me was free

Imagine if it wasn't and you had no texting plan.
Throttled and being charged an extra .25 for the text. That would be just terrible and lulzy on T-Mobile's part.
Dood complain to T-mobile.
People that have been hitting their cap has usually been for tethering and thats a BIG no no you cant complain if you get throttled if you tether because thats your fault. Under normal use you should never hit your cap. But with a heavy dose of Pandora, web browsing, pod cast downloads, mp3 downloads, downloading thru the stock media hub, using 3G for apps like geocaching, and now the ability to stream movies with apps like netflix. All of that combined I believe people will start getting closer to their cap or even start to go over. I believe this is a game changer and service providers are gonna have to provide more bandwidth. We just have to complain when we hit the cap under normal use. And thats the kicker. You should not have werking netflix on your specific device as its not "officially" werking for the Vibrant (yet) so its still not normal use for us. Just don't tell them that i guess, lol. Tell them you have some other phone. Good luck!

Data counter app

Since updating to 4.5.91 my data counting app 3g watchdog has been dramatically more inaccurate...could anyone suggest a data counter app that works well with gingerbread? Thanks in advance

I have yet to find a decent application that was able to do the job right. Lately I have been just using the data number to check (*3282#) although it doesn't give me the minute to minute update that I would like it still gives me an idea about what's being used and what I'm going to be charged for. Still a lot of guessing but it's working for now.

I found ZDBox to be quite accurate.

Looks like you need this app if you dial USSD for checking usage:

@OP: I use Traffic Monitor Widget! It's free and gives app-wise usage as well!

Try installing plan b on your device from the android market online. It will let you track it if it has data still on

Phone is still active. I've been installing apps on it remotly and been allowing then to I.stall paid apps so they they feel like keeping it. Due to a failed root attempt with odin a while back the phone has no recovery and hence no way to delete any user data. Factory data reset won't work until a new recovery is flashed. It's off right now but I keep calling it and it appears he turns it on every couple hours to mess with it. I have all info to be able to track it but the beat I've done is within 2500 feet. I need an apk that will remotly turn gps on to narrow the search. Can't wait till I find this guy im not happy about my wifes rights beinf violated like this. Thank you for anyone's help. Bounty stands as its cheaper than the deductible.

Who is your service provider?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
I 2nd the use of Plan B. It should be able to turn on the GPS automatically after it is installed, and you can restart the locate process through a text message to your phone.
Installed.....no email. I even texted locate like the instructions said. Nothing..

Try this: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.antivirus.trial&feature=more_from_developer . This trial version lasts long enough for you to be able to locate it (I suppose). Notice this feature: "Find your lost or stolen phone and locate it on a map" . It should help you.
Is there any options for if they happened to change to Google account linked to the phone?

Did you read/try post #8?
Yeah no go man. I know who it is name DOB. My wife works at a blood bank that pays out to donors she gets her car broken into. I traced the phone to a local town ten minutes away. Got it down to an address. Then at 700 am lost find finder sends me the same gps location as the night before. Same place but this time not in the yard the dot on the map is right on the house. 704 I'm in the car. Arrive to find an empty sqwat house for doing dope. Show pictures of people who we googled from that street that had mugshots from previous arrests to the curious neighbors. The point out one picture as a guy who used to live there. Said he comes at night still and gets high. Ok now I'm interested in this dude. Was told by a niegbor check some apartments on the other side of town. Get there and ask around to people leaving to work. Find a guy who says yeah they're always in apartment x... Then same gentleman tells us his car was broken into same way samething grab the purse walk away grab wallet out of purse and anything looks good and drop the purse in a bust ten feet away. Check records at wufes work same guy donated same time phone was stolen. He finished donating at 240 at 250 on camera you can see them breaking into the car at her work with just there back to the camera. No face shots. Go figure police are worthless. They don't even want the address we gps located. I'm close to this guy I tell ya. I'm gonna find him recovered phone or not and get ours . Just still trying to track the phone out.

how is your wifi?

i have like a 5 year old wifi router but it seems to be only okay on the galaxy s3. i get fair connection most of the time in my house (especially the third floor). anyone else see it not be spectacular?
Signal is fine. There seem to be some sleep issues though.
Put WiFi on its fine. Everything is speedy. Let phone sleep and come back and it works but is definitely slower like its connected but takes a fair bit longer to pull stuff up. Almost like packet loss but once it starts pulling stuff down its fast just takes a bit too long to spool up. Shut WiFi off and put it on and is fixed.
I'm using an older wrt54 which I think only had 2.5ghz. I've tried setting it to just use that but same results. Wpa2.
I heard the wifi connections on the SGS3 were kind of lacking, but happy to report that it connects fine to my router.
I have a Linksys E3000 Dual-Band Router.
Just fine, no issues at all. Usually pulling down about 25000mbps on average.

I seem to get good speeds but the signal strength indicator is always at 1-2 bars I have not once seen it get to full bars and on rare occasion I get 3 bars. This is in a location where my laptop gets full bars.
Works great on my end.

It's freakishly accurate. I was doing a number 2, playing with my phone with the GPS on. When I opened the map, I had a birds eye view of myself pooping.
insanely accurate and locks in the second i open the app. my galaxy nexus would struggle sometimes to get a lock but this thing is locked before i even open the app lol
Does anybody know if it possible to use this gps kernel on other phones cause my other phones dont have a gps this damn good if so how to I copy the kernel of the gps on here?

I've only messed with it once so far. It was very quick to find my position. I'm looking forward to using it when I go visit family in a week. Since I got about 24 hours drive one way, it will get some good road use.
