Hi . I need help with my HTC EVO 3D, software mwakious3Drom 5.0, Android version 4.0.3 . HTC sense 3.6.
When im calling with somebody so i dont hear him. Sound is so quite. I have AudioManager from android and volume for calling on max. I dont know what i can do for better call volume. Please help :crying:
My wife's phone had the same problem. Hers is not rooted. She ended up taking to Sprint for a $35 repair. They said the speaker was messed up. It didn't seem to affect the media or ringer volume, just the in call volume.

Yes, but i dont know what can i do? Because now i have phone but i cant calling but as mp4 player or for doing photos is good. But i need calling too.
Same problem here, on mwakious too. Did some searching and apparently the in call speaker connection is a bit ****. I've gotta try a warranty repair first otherwise I'll give it a crack myself, doesn't seem too hard.

Have you tried rasing the volume with qpst? I have used the method and its definitely an improvement over factory settings.

Hmm, quite quite.
lol, I'm pretty sure we just don't have good calling speakers. I also experience low call volume even when the in-call volume is max. This doesn't matter what ROM I'm on. I've been through 2 replacements and all are the same thing.

Turn on the "Hearing Aid" mode in Call settings. At the cost of having another icon in your status bar, your volume will be quite loud in call.

May not be compatible yet. You'll notice other apps as well aren't sized properly yet to fit our higher resolution(SpeedTest). It's not even a week old, give it time. You can try Equalizer from the market for your volume, it has helped a lot. Anyways, congratz on your new phone and lower monthly bill

Once you tweak the EQ's, I believe it's for all volume of the phone. The presets are for media and headphones(I think?) My ringtones do seem louder and even the weather sound effects are louder. It does work, give it a try...it's free
i tried it ..didnt help ...i hope when they root the phone they fix the volume and the battery life and full screen caller id ..these are essential to me ...thx

Look in the development area for this phone to see how to access the volume control of the sound files on the phone. You can make them much louder that way.
When I play music off the speaker on the evo 4g lte, its so quiet even at max volume. I came from the Galaxy S2, to this phone and the speaker is the only disappointing thing on this phone, I wish it was louder, is there any hot fix for it?

I only used it on my 3d seemed to work fine back then, its the first thing that comes to mind when some wants a louder speaker
I tried volume + it made no difference, is there anything else I can use?

DSP Manager might work better for you. Be careful - don't want to blow that tiny thing
Use QPST to increase the volume - this requires that you know ur MSL.
MSL Reader is free on Google Play (requires root!) and how to configure/use QPST can be found by searching XDA.

this is the first time I ever heard of QPST...is it something similar to regedit or something of that nature? I have my MSL all ready

1. This guide will tell you how to get the drivers to work (Windows XP/7).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=697487
2. This is the version of QPST I used to make changes to my phone (I couldn't get any other version to work with Windows 7 x64 so I searched around and found this version, which worked for me).

I have read reviews for QPST working for some people but not others, so YMMV.
Good luck!

Even with tweaks the speaker on the LTE is not ideal, I'm guessing that's likely because they were trying to save room when creating the design. I was honestly debating looking up the speaker online and seeing if I could find a better one to replace it with...though this isn't ideal for most people (including myself), I'm still really tempted to do so.

I agree with you but I thought I would throw it out there just on the off-chance it does actually work for some.
How about trying the loudspeaker of motorola photon? It has one of the loudest speaker , and i ve seen it the part is thinner than the evo 4g speaker
The photon speaker also very cheap only $4 online
The problem is how to attach it to our phone ?
I will try this out thank you, even if its just a little louder, I can deal I can't even hear my music in the shower anymore

Read the disclaimer for the qpst. Setting the tab all the way up to four has the potential to blow out your phone's speakers. Three is the best bet. As always you do this at your own risk and nobody is responsible if you mess up your phone. Don't mean to sound like a douche but I had to tell somebody off for smarting off to me about using qpst.
actually if you put your ear RIGHT UP TO THE PHONE it'll sound louder! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!?!?!?!? lol. now if you actually read the manual.. I think it actually says something like you have to hold your phone at least an inch away from your head or you'll die of the rays coming out of your phones. lol! QPST is ****ty software. I'm not paying to use it.
I am only trying to help another xda member. Please do not post replies saying that a question is unintelligent.

I have tried different apps to increase the volume (both speaker and headphone) of my Evo3D, but I never actually felt any difference. Only difference I felt was when I installed Mwakious's Roms with his sound enhancements, there was a bit of an increase, I have to admit. You guys should give it a shot, seems better than those Google Play apps that you need to pay in order to receive... nothing
Hi guys,
First of all I am not talking about main speaker which you listen music, this one is working great. I am talking about the one you listen when you talk.
So that speaker on my Evo 3d is on very low volume when speaking to someone. I can barely hear other people even though I maxed out volume using side buttons. Now if it's very quiet around, I can hear normally, but otherwise it's very hard to hear.
Any ideas what it may be? Is it possible for some reason this mic broke? Maybe there are any mic booster apps or something like that?
Cheers
Flashed another radio ROM and still very very low and unclear volume on speaker even on maxed. Any ideas what it may be?

I think it's a hardware problem. As time passes, dust, sweat and all kinds of filth go through the little protecting net making your speaker membrane unable to move as it should.

Unfortunately, yes. But do one thing first - flash sense ROM and see if the sound is better. Your sig says you're on CM 10, they have a bug similar to your problem.

Tried several different roms but still same problem. Wonder why did this speaker break...
Hello everyone!
I have an HTC One on the AT&T network and just recently it starting acting up.
I love the phone to death, but it is creating an extremely awful hissing/loud static sound when calling someone.
It only happens on the other persons end. I can hear them just fine, but on their end they can't hear me AT ALL.
Very wierd thing is that this only occurs when making calls via on-ear. When making calls through speaker phone it's perfectly fine!
Anyone have any ideas?? This is a very wierd situation, and I can't seem to find anyone else who has this problem!
Thanks in advance!

Hi, curious if you tried another ROM and if it helped the sound?
just a quick tip just incase type~~
do you have anything covering the ambient sound hole on the back side under the power button?
or even your hand when you are talking on the phone?
I know mine used to sound messed up on the other end when holding the phone with my shoulders because it was covering that ambience sound hold.
just a thought

That's a good point. I hadn't thought of that during shoulder use. But personally, that's not a factor with my issue.

I had the same problem and it freaked the hell out of me. Someone in XDA suggested it might be because of incorrect gain levels and to fix it you can try making a loud noise near the microphone. To my surprise it did work and now its perfectly fine. I called a friend and shouted as much as i could and then blew as hard as possible into the bottom mic hole. Not sure what fixed it but its worth a shot.
