I've seen this strange poorly graded black screen on occasion. Seems to be present when I have Advanced Task Killer going, and I also see it for a split second before the blue Facebook start screen comes up when I launch the Facebook App (from a fresh start)...
Do you all get the same strange graded screen? Its almost like its an infil background when there is no background selected by the application.. or.. Maybe its just my handset
OK first thing is STOP using advanced task killer, it does more harm than good and is not needed on android after 2.1
Android manages memory fine without that stupid app.
Delete it from your phone asap.
The graded screen is just the way the png file is for the UI.

So it is normal..
...And ATK has been removed
Thanks for your help!
Normal, and yes. Task killers thrive off of users who used to own a blackberry...

So I'm having a weird issue with Camera 360 and was wondering if this is normal. Once I activate Camera 360, even after exiting, it still show in my battery usage info list (the list that lists, Android system, cell standby, phone idle, display, etc). And it's using 2-4% of the battery, even though I'm not using the app at all. And it's not listed in Advance Task Killer either for me to kill it. The only way I've found to get rid of it is just doing a a Hot Reboot.
Is this normal for Camera 360??
I use Camera360 too (great app, makes really good pics a way better than the stock) and never noticed this behaviour, anyway you can use a task killer to kill the camera360 task and see what happens...

I have ATK, and it's not listed. I also have autokill on as well, and made sure camera360 is not on my ignore list. But ATK is not killing camera360.
this should help
try watchdog lite...
you can find it on android market...
Can anybody explain why radardroid (application that runs in the background) get killed after x time?
And more important, how do I change that behaviour?
I am using lightning Rom 1.5.

Wel, I actually keep google maps open, and the fist xxx minutes, the cams give a signal, but after a while the radardroid get closed . Very annoying...
Is there a policy saying background apps that use CPU and stay in the background: close after x minutes?!
this is making me feel like a total loooooser, but I can't find the setting to remove the 3D homescreen "effect." -- I'm running LGS 1.6 and don't remember the setting being so difficult to find when I turned the damn thing on, but now I think its screwing with my screen...
Mostly visible on the homescreen, but never in an running app, are a bunch of static lines that have gone away in the past with a reboot, but are getting worse and worse now...any ideas or is anybody else experiencing this on this ROM?
Thanks
menu > settings > display?
You might also try a fresh flash. Sometimes android just plays better after it's cleaned up.

Do you guys use task manager? Why or why not?
Sometimes yes...not sure if you really need to with this phone. Just a little OCD on my end
Only when some app is making problems, otherwise no
I often run a kill once at bootup, and then after that only if an app seems to be holding wakelocks or eating excessive CPU.
There is no longer any valid reason for using a task manager for memory management purposes, only for killing wakelock/CPU hogs.
I use Autostart to kill a few things that like to start up on boot, then ATK just for killing wakelock/cpu apps as well.
Mainly FB/Engadget like to stay running when I exit them and cause my battery to get eaten away.
I usually push the "clear memory" button.
I do along with Advanced Task Killer. It kind of nice to know less things is running in the background eatting battery...
ahh, thanks for the reply. cause i was wondering if i should have it as a widget (to clear memory faster) or not (save battery).
I use it when apps are misbehaving or my phone is warm. Mostly its the engadget app.. It runs cpu at like 70% when in background for some stupid reason.

It's up to you if you want to put it as a wigget for easy access. I myself don't, because I hate clutter screen. It only take me 5 seconds to navigate to it.
All the time. just to make sure nothing drains my battery and nothing (especially Browser) is not continuously access internet when I outside WiFi.
Rarely. like others I use one to check and kill misbehaving apps.
I freeze or uninstall most unused apps and disable startup on some.

I use the default one in go launcher.

Not really. I use watchdog task manager to keep an eye on things (with a fairly low threshold - 30%), and it does a really good job. I also use Autostarts to stop a few things from starting up at all.
1. How do I turn off floating touch completely? It makes gaming impossible, and has no real benefits other than previewing xvideos.com clips. I of course tried disabling glove mode, no success. I tried installing an app that was supposed to turn it off, it even requested root, but did nothing after reboot.
2. How do I disable the the illumination bar and the backlight of the capacitive buttons permanently? The led illuminates one side more than the other and it doesn't look good. A couple of apps allowed me to do this, but then they just stopped running in the background and the lights were back. I need a permanent solution here.
3. I love the option that I can limit my background processes, but I always end up with my xperia home closed, and the whole home screen gets reloaded. Can I add it as a specific exception? So a max of 4 processes, but never close xperia home.
4. The screen is flickering when I set the backlight to the lowest setting. I have my auto brightness off. What could be the problem?
5. After the ICS update, the notification bar has two battery indicators, one is a percentage, the other one is an icon. How do I get rid of one without installing a loader?
+1. How can I make my Sola more responsive? I froze bloatware, I restart the phone pretty much every day, but it seems to lag and freeze all the time.
Thanks!
Use a custom rom like CM and most of your problems will be solved!!!
But its meant for unlocked Bootloaders only ..

Yes, you need to flash CM as it doesn't have floating touch, and users say it's the fastest.
But I can tell you about flickering, it's normal no problem with that.
As to battery percentage, you must flash a modded notifications bar, you can find many in Apps section.
As to reloaded home, make sure u have latest .54 firmware, try using task killer, or simply another home launcher, and set background processes to 3 max.
