Google Wallet does not officially work with the Galaxy S III (regardless of operator). There are reports of hacks to make it work though.

any links to said hacks to make it work?
Here's the thread. Seems like it didn't work well so the guide was removed.

The Google Play store is apparently letting me download Google Wallet. It runs but says it hasn't been verified with my carrier and phone plus needs an os upgrade.
Signs of ICS soon?
Btw, i couldn't do this the other day.
That's odd. It says it's incompatible with HTC Amaze. It refuses to allow me to download it.

It refused to allow me to download it. Says it's not available by my carrier. Same here, running on stock, unrooted.

Not available in my Country at all apparently (Canada)
Shows up on Google Play for me but says its not compatible with my phone.
google wallet
Well guess what guys I've been thinking, if google wallet was only intended for the nexus s or other related phones, may be we can trick the phones registry to make it think it is a nexus s, ummmm!!!!!
Interesting that it let you install it. Google play store says it's not compatible with mine though. One day...one day.

That might fix the first error (not certified with my phone and/or carrier) but it won't with the next. (O.S. Upgrade required.) I''m fairly certain it wants ics.
Is it possible to use sqlite hack to get free mobile hot spot like we did for razr?

I've been checking and haven't found settings yet. I think they do a little more than the Motorola RAZR does. I've gone so far as to enable the hotspot feature (paid) to compare it to the entries with it not activated and the only setting I found did not work - it still checked the entitlement.
You're in the wrong forum... This one is for the international S3 with the device number i9300.
Aftermarket Tethering apps should work fine though if you're rooted. Some custom roms may also include the feature.

Most of the aftermarket apps will work - but if he is like me he would rather be able to use the built in one. I know there is a widget out that will enable the built in one, but I'm not a java programmer and even after decompiling the .apk to a .jar I'm having trouble following it.
Anywho, can somone move this into the correct forum for the Verizon one then please.
Thanks.
Is it right that nfc is available as in one of the forum somewhere is says it has the chip.

NFC on the Droid Razr is only available for in the US as far as I know (source being notes and posts across the web - nothing official from Moto). It does not work natively in Europe (so Motorola Razr is a no-no). Unsure about elsewhere.
maybe its only the software thats missing for it to work! So Some Developer can make a hack/mod for the NFC to work

If you get hold of a recent Google Wallet APK you may be able to see if NFC is recognised on the Razr by running it. You cannot get Wallet on stock ICS in the UK, purely I would imagine because NFC is not 'enabled' in Europe, but I'm sure whether Wallet runs/works or not would give you a point in the right direction...
This thread has a user who is trying that very thing. Sadly he hasn't had much joy..

I've been following up on Google and their patents for a work around of the secure element chip. And Google had said I this post "any device on Android 4.4 on the new Google Wallet allows any KitKat user with NFC hardware (and a US SIM card) to use tap-to-pay functionality, regardless of whether or not the device has an NFC Secure Element.

hope 4.4 comes soon
I loved using my note 2 to tap and pay. Isis is garbage. Cant wait for thr 4.4 so I can use tap to pay on note 3, but knowing verizon and samsung updates im not holding my breath.
Has anyone using either of the Lollipop roms tried Google Wallet and nfc with this phone?
I haven't but I'll give it a try tomorrow. I doubt it will work due to our chipset.

Yes, please let me know. I had my kids ask me about it, but since I am using my Droid DNA (ditched my Galaxy S5 since I can't stand Samsung), I really can't give them a straight answer. It does seem that this PacMan rom is the best out there for this device.
Tap and pay does not show up in my settings so it looks like it's still a no go. They are still working on it over here but no luck yet. All because of the NXP chipset we have for the NFC. Beam worked fine for me but no Tap and Pay.
Sorry for the delay Friday blew up a work and today was the first chance I had to check it out.
