Remember the promise of ICS in Q2? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

What's the latest word on official ICS?
Samsung is rapidly running out of time if they wanted to get it out in Q2...

SMH

And another repeat thread...

OP, you really need to read, search, or at least glance at the newest threads before you post. The forum is loaded with that info. And there was no Q2 promise by Samsung.

Fantastic, I hope so, been dealing with Pandora bug for awhile now and its a well used app. Thanks

Correct posting location = Apps & Themes... just sayin..
Thank you for the newsflash though.
That's great. Shouldn't this be in themes and apps not development?
A rom called "pandora" and an update for it, where is the change log?
*shakes head* I guess common sense really is dead. That's a real shame!
Awesome thanks!
Anyone tested this yet?

Yeap,
Right now, running great...Now when I get home time to remove the skip limit.
Oh yeah, to the OP, thanks for the info but facepalm as to the section you posted it in.
is a full wipe needed? what kernel does it come with....
So before you all decide to keep flaming me for posting in this thread, check my post history I am fully aware of what the different forums are for as a matter of fact I posted a Question this morning in the Q&A Forum.
This is a universal problem across ALL ROMs and has been discussed in EVERY single ginger bread based ROM in this forum, and as such I felt it was the appropriate place to get as much dissemenation as possible. Please don't insult my common sense as I assure you I have plenty of it.
As for the quote of "Pandora ROM" I'm pretty sure my post was NOT entitled [ROM] or [Kernel] or [Mod] so give me some credit there... If someone who Moderates these forums thinks there is a better place for it feel free to move it, but the reality is I was trying to help as many people as possible, I didnt post something that says, "Excuse me how do I do an hboot or flash a ROM" I posted a universally applicable piece of information.
Have a fantastic day and for all of you flaming me enjoy your Pandora now that you know the fix has been released (even though it was posted in this forum)
Cheers.
Well I appreciate the info, updating now, thanks. And you had to know you would get sh*t on for posting it here. I'm glad you did as I don't search the other forums often.

same reason I did post it here!
Regardless of the reason it is still the wrong forum. Explain it however makes you feel warm and fuzzy but this is the development forum and a market app update is not development. Just saying.
Also if people didn't see it in the Themes & Apps forum they would have seen it when they loaded the market and saw there was an update available.
I could give two ****s where its posted. I'm glad I seen it cause I normally just browse my favorite threads.
Thanks again to the OP.
That's what moderators are for, just move it and be done with it already...

All 47 posts? Good job. Post in the right section next time. If you read the dev section requirements and rules, you would understand. And as for the tool who said thats what mods are for, mods are here for tools like you do they can kick you in the face with the BAN BOOT.
Thanks!
Patch notes say the fix is for the Evo 4G and several comments in the market app state it still skips on there phones.

EDIT**: I can confirm that Pandora does work now, after 2 hours so far, its still going strong. FLAWLESS!

Sfr releases road map to ICS

http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/0...e-galaxy-sii-and-htc-sensation-in-march-2012/
So it seems Samsung is on track to release ics for the international gs2 in March. Hopefully at&t can get it to us by September.

I wonder what causes the delays in testing for At&t. Not enough man power?

No excuse for opening a new thread on the same subject, especially when there IS a sticky already devoted to it.

ICS for Galaxy S II

I quote from fan page Samsung Mobile
"Samsung offers Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade for GALAXY S II
We're thrilled to announce that Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich will be served to GALAXY S II users in the European countries including Poland, Hungary and Sweden, as well as Korea TODAY, and gradually roll out to other markets.
ICS for GALAXY Note, GALAXY S II LTE, GALAXY Tab 8.9 and 10.1 will follow soon." With this release, will the developers be able to extract the kernel source and port it to the 777?
go to General forum, "Are we getting ICS" - read and search first, always.
And no.

And the official tweet from Samsung was posted in that thread at 9:13 EDT last night, with supporting links from Engadget and others within minutes.
And I'm not in a race, I was trying to point out you needn't have opened this thread before it gets closed.
Goodbye.

Have a nice day!
Edit- Btw your smarties deters new members. Every time you hide in the bushes waiting for someone to say something naive and then jump and ridicule them, you hurt the developers. You see, new people like to donate (they appreciate the work and the help), but people like you make this a sour experience for the newcomer.
No, posting new threads when existing threads cover the same topic you're posting about hurts the developers. It means we need to waste more of our goddamn time dealing with clutter in the forums for new threads that do not justify being a new thread such as:
THERE IS ALREADY A THREAD FOR ICS DISCUSSION AND THIS HAS ALREADY BEEN COVERED THERE.
Edit: IBTL.

Manually install ice cream sandwich yet?

The official Ics has been out for the international version of the s2, and I've seen tutorials on how to install it early, but I was wondering if it was available for the i777? Or do we have to wait for AT&T to take their sweet time to release it? I've searched around the forums for this question so I would appreciate if you guys could enlighten me instead of just telling me to "search" like every other forum on the Internet. Thanks guys!

It's people like this that are making XDA a forum for lazy gimmie gimmie people. This is first and foremost a developer forum for responsible users. I'm not saying it's strictly for developers, just that people that are new here need to realize the forum was not created for THEM. it was created for developers and users that know what they are doing with their phones.
