After my sk17i update to stock 4.04,the music list of music player seems stop updating. It always shows the same music files even i have deleted it.What's worse, new music copied to sd card can't be updated too.
I have tried the ics walkman player published in the app section and cleared the data of music player and media storage app.But in vain.
Especially ,after i cleared the data of media storage,i found the music player and gallery don't show any contents until 20 minutes later. Now i doubt if the system need to be reflashed!!!
Hope anyone can help me.

Hey, what's up?
I think it's maybe a bug, but maybe a mistake of mine
I have a WT19a with official ICS, rooted, locked BL.
When i deleted some pics on a folder, and put new pics from my PC to the SD card, both galleries are still showing the old pics i deleted, and don't show the new ones. I wiped data from both apps and nothing happen.
Help me, please! (and sorry for my english!)
EDIT: Now i'm realizing that the errors maybe are coming from SD card. My device is bad at synchronizing files in the card with the OS (i think) For example, i deleted some music now and Walkman player is showing up the deleted tracks anyway
No. Here's how you fix it.
Open up settings and clear data of both the galleries. Alnd then open the gallery again. And things will be fine again.
Thanks,
Rick

EDIT: Deleted data from Walkman app also and it's keeping in the same... showing already deleted tracks and not showing the new ones...

Restart phone and walkman should be fine. Try unmounting the sd, opening gallery and music player, and re mounting sd again.

Okay. Got the solution now. Open settings then applications, then all aps, and then force stop and clear data of the app media storage. Then restart. And it should be fine.

While rooting you must not have cleared data. For that, the data of GB media refresh was persistent in your SD card. And the new media refresh was using the older data causing all the mess up. Now that you cleared the data, things have started all over again. The creation of thumbnails for gallery, etc etc.
So, now when you delete a pic, the thumbnail will get deleted automatically.
All this in my opinion. I am not sure. I am no mer than a noob after all.
Thanks,
Rick

Hey People,
I have put a few albums on my phone, but when I go into the music player and select albums, its showing the albums twice.
Eg, Dr Dre Album, this option has a few songs, and the 2nd option of Dr Dre shows the rest of the songs.
I'm not good at explaining, please see the thumbnail below.....
I know that the files have the same respective album name.....
Does anybody know how to sort this?
Sorry for confusing you guys, and thanks in advance for your replies
I get the same but only on the stock Samsung music player, only a couple are as you mentioned but in my case the first track is listed as album then right underneath it is same album with rest of the tracks.
Poweramp doesn't do that, I thought it might have been a ID3 tag issue.
Can't see your screenshot, but have you checked that the 'Album Artist' fields are the same for each song?
For example, you may have the Dr Dre but one of your songs might have the 'Artist' as Dr Dre ft Eminem - you would need the 'Album Artist' to say Dr Dre for them all to show as the same album.

I get this on the stock player and also on "musixmatch"
The weird thing is, all the albums are showing properly on my Defy
The best way to fix it is delete the album from your device, open the folder on your computer, select all songs, right click on them, select properties and make sure everything is the same. Happend to me a few times when album artist was different for a couple of songs
Have checked all the tags (use mediamonkey on PC) & the tags are ok, only shows doubles in stock player, other music players display the albums correctly.
Did notice it appeared right after the first firmware upgrade if that any use.

Couldn't find the option to clear data / music, thanks anyway Slaphead.
I have sent an e-mail to Samsung, let's see what they say
So here is my small problem
I copied alot of music to my internal storage, into sdcard/music when i first got my S3. Worked perfectly.
I was using the stock Music player for a while then it got on my nerves and i installed PlayerPro which works great.
Now a months later i got some new music and i copied it to my internal sd.
The only thing:
The music is not showing up in stock player and playerpro ,however it can show in poweramp trial version which i got from playstore. I can play the files from my file manager but in the actual music app it wont show up.
I rebooted, reinstalled music apps, removed avast mobile security, cleared cache on all involved apps, deleted the music and copied again, and manual copy...
And it cant be the music itself because it works when picked directly in file manager
Tried placing the music in various location in my internal sd. It still wont work either.
Not any of you aware and have solution for this minor flaw?

Your devise cannot play any media with stock media player while media scan is running ( small sd card sign at notification bar). Let it complete to play media files like music and videos. Once scan completed you can play any media.

I have this exact same problem. I don't mind playing my music/videos from a file manager, but this also disables my freaking CAMERA. Trying to open my camera/video recorder just gives the same "Try again after media scanning complete" error message, even though the media scanner is not running.
Do I need to create some more folders on the SD card? Probably just going to try formatting and trying again, but I am so sick of doing that with this phone. If LG didn't make it practically unusable by default, it wouldn't be necessary D:<
Well guys i switched my internal and external sd and my phone scans at boot. At this second im going to try and run stock media player and see if my music shows up.. brb
Update.. my stock media player is Sh*t now and just scans usb.. im guessing cuz i switched my memories? One thing i havent tried is putting my sd card music files onto my internal sd card music folder. The only reason im not pressed to fix the issue is because the media player i downloaded is better than stock player and soon JB will be out for p769 so ill have to switch internal/external memory again. I think then my stock player will play. Its weird tho my stock player should simply scan for music files on device and sd card. Idk whats so hard about that

Can you post the forum/thread where you got your information about swapping external with internal sd. I want to know because i might be able to help. I know of two threads, and i combined information from both and everything has been working fine.
Sent from my LG-P769 using xda app-developers app
I got mine working without a format. I was using RemountSD and a script running from SManager.
I had to go into RemountSD and change to the settings posted by arman4o in the "App data on external SD" L9 thread:
arman4o said:
Try RemountSD
ICS Settings:
Interne SD - /mnt/sdcard
External SD - /mnt/sdcard/external_sd
Target external SD card - /mnt/sdcard
JB Settings:
Interne SD - /storage/Sdcard0
External SD - /sorage/Sdcard0/external_sd
Target external SD card - /storage/sdcard0

These settings in RemountSD took care of my media scanning issues (as soon as I rebooted the media scanner started up, when before it was freezing), and now I can use my camera again.
Unfortunately now my 32gb microSD card is no longer showing as my primary internal storage. In fact, it's not showing up at all. But at this point I already have all the large games installed to the microSD that I needed (and even though it doesn't show up under storage, the games still work), so I am just going to wait until a JB 769 ROM before I mess with all this crap again.
