From the Philippines.
Just sharing this one for the guys waiting for official gingerbread release. I've just been able to officially update to DXKPD via Kies after reflashing to stock 2.1 firmware. [DX for Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam]
Kies updated to version 2.0.3.11082_152 first then the update went through.
If you can't update through Kies, try Przekret's post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1286150 and flash using Odin

Wakeup takes almost the same time like in the KPH but feels less laggy.. I can't say much I haven't tested it quite long. I've been back to CM7.1.
Just tried to see if there are any updates.
But I've found some several additions to the settings app, i.e. accelerometer calibration under Display Settings..
I think its somewhat more stable.. (Of course It'd be useless as an official release)

Kabayan, thanks for this. Will try this later.
Works well for me. Speed enhanced. Only problem (not really a problem for me ), it takes about 2 seconds to enable screen again after lock.

Yoh Bro, Im from ph too... I encounter the same problem.. Kies cannot detect my device. I just recently updated my phone into cynogen 7.1 BehradGH... from my stock rom 2.3.4 DDKQ5. Have you tried updating your phone into 2.3.5??
Already tried this one.
Update my SGA Stock ROM to 2.3.4 via Kies works fine.

Try downgrade to S5830DXKC1 Froyo 2.2.1 stock rom then try update again via kies, this should be prompt you for new FW update. Since we are on Philippines FW should be on "DX" for kies to detect it. Hope this will help. Cheers!

I sugest reading the FAQ/Howto guides in this thread before anything else.
Also I dont think there is an ICS rom with arabic, also the ICS roms are all of alpha quality at the moment and shouldn't really be used unless you know what you are doing.

WARNING FOR NEWBIES .
ICS is not released by Samsung what is around are no more than leaked beta test roms not everything working . Do not install unless you are prepared for bugs .
Root your phone for ICS ??? why on earth ??
ODIN does not need root to flash ICS .

I would stick to GB for every day use, ICS is still a little buggy (although getting better)
Have a look at some of the good custom roms for GB

And thats the problem far no many thickos are punting a leaked beta firmware on a phone .Failing to understand and they getting poor information from other noobs .
Samsung void warranty on non official roms and ICS is not released by Samsung so warranty is void .

I have bought my SGS2 from Dubai,UAE and I live in India.
Can I update my phone using the Indian official update or do I have to wait till official ICS is pushed for my region?

mine is frm gulf too,but iam waiting for official,but u can flash other rom,but u hav to revert back too gb to get kies update.
no problem use odin, worries about modem,
buddy you are in india using indian region rom with modem for indian region phone companies.....make sence???
but to your relaxation you can flash specific modems if you want.

yes ! V20D "europe open" is good for you !
it work with all others V20 too ..... but not "optimised" , i don't know in "detail" what are exactly the difference between these baseband ...

You can flash any v20 baseband. But if you have problem, you can request op for baseband foot your country.
