GSM on ICS leak - HTC Rezound

Hi! Just tought I'd let you guys know I got GSM working properly (voice, data, sms) on stock-ish ICS leak (CONROM V4).
I just made the following changes to build.prop:
ro.config.lte=false
ro.telephony.default_network=3
Did a factory reset, and everything worked right away. APN was configured automatically, and there's no FC on the Mobile Network settings. It still shows the "This SIM card is from an unknown source" message, though :/
I believe this should work on stock ICS leaks and other custom roms built on it, but I've just tested it on CONROM V4 so far.
Let me know if this works for you

Soo..does that fix what all the gsm users have been asking for?

Just an update, I have tried this on the unmodified stock ICS leak and it works as well. Note that must wipe after modding and skip the Verizon activation for it to work.
You might also try a patch version made by con247 that modifies the build.prop directly, no need for manual modification:

Cricket Fascinate Users - Can someone confirm a working ICS ROM?

I just downloaded the ICS ROM from team hacksung and I love the ROM, but there's only one problem: My 3G data isn't working. Wifi works, which I am using right now, but no data and I don't know why. My 3G data was working fine before I flashed to ICS (it was working in EH03 GB) I'm just wondering if anyone else has a Verizon Fascinate fully flashed to Cricket who has had the same problem and knows how to fix it or can confirm a working ICS ROM that you've used where everything including data is working?
I'm the only one in the whole forum on Cricket? Someone's gotta be able to help....
Check your settings with CDMA Workshop or QPST. Most likely all you will need to do is open QPST, do not read from phone just write the correct settings under PPP Config. If that doesn't work then here is all you need to get it up and running again.

You more than likely just need apn shortcut apk to configure your apns if it was already working as you say or you flashed a rom that changed your prl and you need you change it back. Im running CM9 ICS from Hashcode on my droid3 and it works just fine. I just had to install the cricket universal mms apk to get the picture text working but regular text works fine with the stock mms. You will need the sms fix apk also they are all found in the cricketusers.com forum I hope this helped you out but I cant post the exact link here

I never got a reply from this guy so I have no idea if we are helping him at all... He posted this on 16th February 2012. A lot of people on XDA that never reply after you try to help them these days.
Sorry about not replying. I ended up posting on the rootzwiki forum where I got the rom and someone posted an "alternate carrier data fix" .zip file that I flashed through cwm. It ended up working instantly. If anyone is interested I can post the file when I get to my computer.

Yes please do. I was just trying to get gummy ics to work and no 3G. I couldnt access phoneutil to swap usb to modem to be able to connect to qpst, then i directly installed phoneutil but swapping pda to modem didnt do anything. Started to do more research and your post came up.
Definitely need that file.

Here ya go. Just flash the .zip in cwm and reboot. This worked for me so hopefully you have the same fate.

P.S. For some reason phoneutil does not exist in ICS and neither does a programming menu. I have another thread asking the devs if they know if these menus even exist anymore, but I get no answer.

I tried the one you linked to and it didn't work for me. Although I didn't let gummy boot before I flashed it. I tried a different one and it did the trick. Unfortunately I can't post the link yet since I'm new. I'll see if I fan pm you and you can add it to your post.

Can't Save APN Settings RemICS Rom

Hello. I have a Samsung Vibrant and I just flashed RemICS rom and it looks great. The only problem is that I cannot seem to get my internet settings back in. I go to mobile networks, select add new apn, put in the apn settings, then click save. Then it returns me to a blank apn list. I reboot and go back to see if it is in the list and it's not. I've tried this three times and for some reason it won't save my apn settings. Anyone know how I can fix this?
Thanks.
The issue might be due to the fact that Remics currently has an issue with baseband and I believe imei as well. They are working on a new base for their ROM. Try a different jb rim and see if it works. * if you flash hellybean use 0817 build not 0820.

Just to be clear, did you flash the ICS version, or the JB version?
As samsgun mentioned, the JB rom currently has some issues that will be resolved soon enough, but for now leaves you without any data connection. If, however, you flashed the ICS version (Which I am currently running, and love) we can try and get down solving your problem. But before we figure out what to fix, we have to know what we are working with ^^

I flashed the JB version. I didn't see the ICS version. I also flashed HellyBean the 820 version and same issue. Someone above said the 817 version might work. I really love the rom but I need data because I'm out and about a lot and need to get my work emails while Im out. I'm going to donate cause the rom is great and such hard work went into it. I think ill try the ICS version until the data is working for the JB version.
Thanks for the heads up. I'll report in after I falsh the ICS version.

That's two jb ROMs that will mess up baseband remics and hellybean 0820, thus the reason I said flash 0817 build.
All should be fine with remics ICS. It is an outstanding ROM!

Hey guys,
I've been struggling with the same problem for weeks now. It doesn't matter what I do, the APNs settings won't save unless I flash back to an older ROM. Below I've listed some of the stuff I tried:
- Reboot the device multiple times
- Disable/enable flight mode and reboot
- Switch to "3G" only and back
- Add APN and wait a few minutes before saving
- Add APN and use back button instead of menu option to save
- Fix permissions under CWM
- Reinstall the ROM
- Flash other custom ROMs
- Flash other kernels
- Flash other modems
- Flash new ROM over working ROM without doing wipe/factory reset to keep settings
- Flash ROM without SIM and SD card
- Manually populating preferred-apn.xml
- Deleting telephony.db
- Confirm that telephony.db gets populated correctly
- Confirm that my sp settings are in apns-conf.xml
- Copied apns-conf.xml from known working ROM
- Use "APN Backup & Restore"
I even checked the logs while trying to add APN settings and found the following error: "Failed setting numeric 'null' to the current operator". It comes from a file called "TelephonyProvider.java", but I haven't made any progress with it.
I'm going to kick myself if the solution ends up being something as simple as fiddling with the user agent settings. But I'm not quite sure how this affects the system APN settings, do you perhaps know?
FYI, I actually have a Galaxy S2 and already posted in the S2 forums, but no luck yet. So I'm trying every possible solution that I can find. I also have a replacement SIM on its way, but it will take about 3 days to arrive.
I actually got the network in remics working but I had to flash a different kernel I told (patrick)or who ever is it that maintain that rom here, I couldnt get sound or camera but as of the network and apns it was running good...

[PATCH] XDarkmario's Verizon (R800X)[GB] patch [DONE!]

Hey again, as usual i don't post something unless i feel that something is being left out or forgotten.
Nothing big but as you may know we xperia play verison or (CDMA) users are often forgotten in rom development. That's where i come in
i feel that the cdma xperia is neglected and does not much dedicated support. One example is GB roms. If you didn't know (or it does not affect you) when trying to install a R800i ROM to a R800x phone after the bootanimation you usually get stuck on a blank or slightly gray screen (depending on the rom makers theme.) It is VERY annoying and it is IMPOSSIBLE to get past it. But i have threw together a little patch for VERIZON CDMA USERS ONLY!!! that corrects this issue. to use is very easy.
just flash this zip immediately after flashing your GB rom of choice!! and boot
NOTE:a small FC will appear, THIS IS NORMAL! And then the verizon setup will appear. done!
Also: THIS DOES NOT FIX CDMA 3G/4G SERVICE!
THE PATCH IS FIXED AND READY TO GO!!
DOWNLOAD
I'll have to try this out sometime. I just recently got MIUI installed onto my device (thanks to CosmicDan). I've always wanted to try the Gin2JellyBean ROM and the True Ancestor ROM. Thanks for this, I'll definitely try this out soon. :3
So is this a CDMA patch to allow any GSM rom to he installed then flash this patch and it will work? I spent months trying to get a working cdma patch but to no avail. Best I got was a the dialer wouldn't force close and it would attempt to make a call but would then just sit there. Ill have to try this out.

He made this to make GSM roms run on CDMA devices, the purpose of this patch, if I'm correct, is to help these GSM only developers develop for CDMA users, and wizard CDMA developers can take care of the signal, then make a full universal patch within the near future. That's my perspective.
I'm impressed either way!
It took this long for this to be released? Surprised no one has done this yet for locked people. Good job!

Anyone else getting an error code when attempting to flash this? I get the "status 6"........ or am I missing something something and this is not supposed to be flashed?
No I got the same thing. I took the files from his mod and added them to the rom I tested. I think the binary in the zip is bad but I'm not sure.

yes this ONLY allows you to install any gsm rom on our cdma phones no network
Just tried to instance the system.sin for a stock SE based rom and got kobworking homescreen. Just a tip though flashing true ancestor the rom works out the door without the need to flash this patch but again nobworking phone functions and none of the aokp, ft5, cyanogenmod cdma patches work. So if you just want a working device with no phone functions then the true ancestor works out the door no need tobflash this patch.

Mobile Data not working after flashing Android Revolution ROM

This morning, I flashed Android Revolution. When I got to the setup screen, I noticed that I could not connect to my Verizon Mobile Network and that my SIM card was unable to be detected. My mobile data worked fine with Jedi X, my previous ROM, so I tried to go into my backup folder and restore back to my Jedi X ROM, and still no luck. I didn't tamper with my SIM card and I have no idea what could have happened. I really need this back by tomorrow for my work so I need immediate help.
PS. I tried going into my APN settings, and the options were blank. There literally was no apn option to choose from, so maybe that is the problem.
did you flash the vzw patch now sure where this rom is even at as it's not a verizon n2 rom at least that i have seen so more info would probably help

It was made by Scott, the Cleanrom dev, and it fixes the issues that you would run in to with flashing other carrier roms. It doesn't work on n7100 roms though, only the roms for the N2 versions that have LTE. It was released write a while ago and still works just fine to my knowledge.

[Q] XT912 GSM question

I have Verizon XT912 I unlocked it and tried to install few roms on slot 1 and 2.
I placed a European SIM card inside and using it in Belgium.
I found out the the only way to use data is install 4.12 rom, 4.22 will work but data will not.
When I'm out of Europe I forward my cell phone do a voicemail in the office by using **21* and the number.
To disable forwarding I'm using the code ##21#.
This worked on every GSM phone, but with Verizon phone and sim card I get a message:
"Call forward is disabled outside verizon wireless network"
Does anyone know hos to solve this problem?
No one knows?
I just to completely remove all verizon rom kernel etc and flush a GSM rom, is it possible?

you should try out some ROMS like cyanogenomd or maybe Eclipse ROM for xt912.
they get rid of all the crap.

Eclipse is the only one that worked, but it is 4.1.1, I still have forwarding issue.
I'm looking for 4.2.2 that will work.
