[Q] unbranding - Galaxy S III Q&A, (US Carriers)

Is there anything I can flash on my sgs3 I'm picking up shortly to take away the att branding? I have looked for a solution but cannot find a clear answer for my question.

You mean flash a different Rom? or do you mean remove the att logo from the back?

Flash. I can easily order another back, but I want rid of carrier branding (ie. Boot logo etc.)

You could flash Canadian software. There is no branding or carrier bloat at all. Totally Samsung,

Is there a way to unlock my sim so I can stay with t-mobile but use any AT &T phone.

You don't unlock the SIM card, you unlock the phone itself to use a different carrier other than the one it was locked to . (IE- Samsung Vibrant is locked to T-Mobile, unlock it and you can use a AT&T SIM card in it and it will run on AT&T)

Just purchased the GS3

If you are on sprint and you want to brick your phone then by all means flash whatever you want from here, otherwise go to the sprint forum.

If you're talking about the TracFone variant of this phone that is available directly through StraightTalk, then this isn't correct. (if you meant the i9100G. There is no such phone as the i9000G)
The TracFone variant that StraightTalk offers directly is actually model number SGH-S959G. It seems that it is most closely similar to the SGH-I777, and is likely just that; a re-numbered, re-issue of that same phone (for AT&T) specifically for StraightTalk.
If I'm right, and you do end up getting this phone, then do NOT flash anything from the i9100G forum to that device. It will at best, not work and you'll have to re-flash a stock firmware for that model... or at worst, you will brick it.
That was very helpful. I've decided to just get a GSM nexus and toss a similar in it. Thank you so much tougj

Roms

Dumb question. So I'm rooted. Can I use other carrier roms? Also have the boot loader unlocked and carrier unlock. Does that mean I can use this phone on another carrier if I ever left Verizon??? Thanks
