Learning something requires lots of reading. If u don't wanna learn anything or be bothered to read anything go to a non dev forum where they talk about "what the devs at xda are doing"

This same guy also goes into the other phone forums and posts the same thing there too. Example: why the market is not downloading properly for him in the nexus forums when he presumably owns an X10.

I really want to learn how to make roms and themes, I know I know, there are tons of tutorials and guides on how to do this. What I want to do is be someones apprentice. I learn really quick and have been repairing computers and troubleshooting them for about 10 years. My only problem is that I don't know coding. Just want someone to teach me the ropes. I know a lot of you devs are busy because of CM7 but I can learn really fast! Hopefully someone can help me!

My quote is just that, a quote. The fact that 2 of you are getting butthurt about it shows how mature YOU are. It's just a quote, it means nothing and if people aren't grown up enough to understand that then they have no place on the internet. All I was asking for was help so I could learn how to cook my own Rom. Then next thing you know, here comes some people talking smack and showing how much of an ass they can be. It's just a quote, it's not my philosophy on life or anything so calm down. If anyone is acting like a child, maybe you guys should go back and read your posts. I simply posted a question and got replies about how my signature is the reason no one would help me. It's fine though, whatever.

First off, thank you for serving our country!
I can understand both sides of this argument. You defend our rights, including freedom of speech. It is just a quote, but when you have as large an audience as the net provides, you need to watch what you say and do. Even tho quotes like that are fine when you are with your friends, all it takes is one person to be offended and your done. Arguing isn't going to help, they have the right to their opinions too, you defend them as well.
Sometimes you just need to smile, say "you're right, I'm sorry", remove the offending item and carry on (it's how I've stayed married for as long as I have ).
Be nice to the Guy, he is asking some honest questions. I remembered when I was interested in starting out 2 years ago. OP you can pm me if you need any help

a merged rom? how would that even work? the binaries are completely different. hell getting ios to run on android phone would be an accomplishment due to the different drivers needed

Not to be rude or something, making a new team is good but wouldn't it be better if the ideas become one? After all two heads are better than one. And besides most recognized developer are already on the X10mp team as well as most regulars as testers has committed to the new rom and hopefully kernel. You get the idea?

If you're referring to: [ROM+KERNEL]X10MiniProTeam , then yes there is a team already, but that has loads of devs and others already. Let sqpp make his own rom (and ask for volunteers) if he wants to! Chill Personally variety is the spice of life as the saying goes. Should be interesting to see another new rom!

The only problem is he is a noob. Just get SOME experience, you know. Thats why, i think, not alot of people are joining. Shows us what you can do, port a ROM from somewhere, take help from other devs, atleast do something.

As for me, I'd love to test your rom sqpp in a few months when I finish my final year at uni. In the mean time could you make the rom please? Hope this is okay?

You can create graphics,beta testing and useful-script-finding,or even all-three!

There are too many ROM and so many possibilities.
Lately i have tested the Kitchen Sink ROM and loved it, but the thing that gets me the most is Stock Motorola Cam. It doesnt have it . The CM9 Cam from kitchen sink is good but its delayed alot. There are more i would like to explain but ill just leave it simple. Can you make your own ROM?

Unlike the winmo days where anyone could get a kitchen and build away, the closest thing android has to that is the aroma installer kitchen sink uses. So building a rom on android is a bit more advanced. Best bet would be getting an already credible minimal rom such as the 3.2.5 deblur/cm7 and theming/modifying it to your liking. But the fact that you asked such a broad question kinda tell me that youve got a lot of reading to do if youre plannin to undertake such a project.
