idk what you guys have it with "official", our devs work hard to give us unofficial stuff and i think we should appreciate that more.

I see ICS on my 3devo every day, thanks to the developers. ;-)
I don't think we'll see an official JB OTA, but I really hope we see an ICS OTA and source release. If we get the updated kernel source, XDA will produce a JB daily driver.
there have been over 15 threads in this one section on the same question in the last 3 days. hmmmm interesting.
ICS and JB seem to be similar to each other that ud hope it could just be upgraded without much work... but you forget that most of us are now running Sense 3.6 and that would have to be worked on as well. given that only this device a few others even have sense 3.6 the answer is clearly that ..
it will never occur.
im sure project butter and even 90 percent JB roms will be made... if anyones working on it, hope they speak up

I know that this will probably get moved but I was wondering if this ROM could be ported over from the sensation? I havent found any ROMs out for the 3D that are ICS/sense. Thanks for any responses/input from users/devs. Hopefully something like this will make it to the 3D!!!!!!!

Probably won't get a stable release until it officially gets released for the EVO 3D in Spring.

I just haven't been able to jump on the ICS Sense train. I just really love the look and feel of Vanilla ICS, they really stepped up their game with it. I am only basing this off screens though so maybe once ICS gets in full swing we will get some nice hybrids but so far it's bleh.

First off, I'm not looking for an ETA and not complaining. These devs are working free of charge and I could not ask for anything else.
I just want to know what is holding our device back from getting ICS ROMS. The International GS2 i9100 is getting ICS ROM after ICS ROM being pumped out for it. Why is the i777 one of the few phones that just don't even have betas out for it.
If someone could clear this up, that would be great.
The kernel source code. This could have easily been answered by using the search function. Not flaming just a little helpful advice. Welcome to XDA great to have you. But hopefully we will eventually get source.

The biggest issue is that the Search button is broken on all of the ICS releases. Hopefully they will fix it soon and we can get some ROMs to play with

So we have S-Off now. Therefore, there are no excuses not to be supported in Cyanogen minus the source code and Offical OTA of the ICS update. Am I correct? Miui, Cyanogen, and AOSP/AOKP . I hope the ball starts rolling because I'm estatic!!! Post in and tell me the truth and your opinion.
The ball has been rolling. S-Off has nothing to do with AOSP/AOKP. DMeadows and I'm sure others has been working on a Cyanogenmod port for some time now. Protekk recently joined the quest as well. Read up in the dev section

s-off doesn't mean AOSP, MIUI, etc.
As stated about a thousand times before the RIL, which is what is holding us back, is not going to be any easier to get with s-off.

S-Off = Hboot fully unlocked.
Aosp/Aokp = RIL source needed, not S-Off.

What I'm asking is, since we have S-Off, won't people like cyanogen be MORE likely to support us since you wont have to flash hboots and what have you to change roms and radios and such? I understood the whole RIL problem holding AOSP back a long time ago. I'm talking about "Official" support.

By the way... please save all the comments trying to make it seem as though I never read this forum. I do. I'm not a developer and I only understand so much of what it means to achieve things. I'm new to HTC. Motorola was much simplier to flash things, so this dev unlock and s-off stuff is all new to me. Do I get it? yes. Has it taken a while? Yes. what do you expect from us when someone with 8 posts, asks a question incorrectly? We can't guess what you intended to say, and we had every right to be annoyed with what you posted as your original post has been asked "about a million times."

I don't think the s off is going to bring any devs that wouldn't have taken on the project while it was s on. Most of the devs who walked away from the rezound early on did so because early on the user base was rude, demanding, appreciative, and many were unintelligent and appreciative.
It has improved, there's a lot of really respectful and brilliant rezound users, and there's a lot of great devs among us, but as a whole, maybe due to the marketing of such nice hardware being based on "beats" there's still a lot of drama and unneeded crap being stirred up by a few bad apples.
The aosp ball started rolling last week again with protekk deciding to take on RIL, and others will also contribute to the effort.
S-off is greatly appreciated by me and a huge help to the community as a whole. But it's definitely not what was holding up AOSP in my opinion. I don't know any devs who would be asked to help out on the RIL by a friend of theirs and would say "no way I'm touching that because that phone is s on with an oem unlocked bootloader.

Nosympathy: Please do not take it as a personal insult. I do appreciate all the devs on here and I know that there are surely some who are not mentioned anywhere on the the forum who deserve praise. My problem is that there is no reason to post if all you're going to do is put down the question. If you have a problem answering the question... just don't answer it. A non constructive answer... is no answer at all. I've read thread after thread where unknowing people ask questions about things that only people who read this forum constantly know. This thread is useful for two reasons.
1. Samsung hasn't officially released a date yet and there really hasn't been a word on a Google search as to whether or not ICS has been released for the AT&T Galaxy S2.
2. Not everyone prefers the modified versions of the ROM, and though there is bloat on the AT&T versions, not everyone's incredibly satisfied with the custom ROM's (I am personally, but yeah, not everyone's down for the custom ROM's).
3. If the official ICS did come out, it can provide something or another to make the current custom ROM's better, such as the ability to get Google Wallet (or ISIS) working, for example.
I appreciate that this is a forum for developers, but that still doesn't allow us to flame every new thread that comes on here that's not created by one of the elite or something or another >.>

Dude. When ICS hits it hits. And if u can't find anything on Google about ics release dates or possible release dates u aren't searching right. Either way when it does drop u go right ahead and flash that buggy bloated OS. I'll stick with my AOKP.
Edit: I sound like a douche in this post. So no more arguing. Hope we get official ics too sometime soon. But odds are I won't flash it anyway ;-p

Oh you're right about this being a developers forum but you're completely wrong about the assumptions that only "elite" members can post. You're about as wrong as humanly possible. We only yell at people for threads like these because it does NOT help any developer in any way and this question gets asked over and over again all in separate threads which bog down the forums an leave less room for the more legitimate questions/ posts. And once you've been on here a while you usually know when you should post a thread or when you shouldn't. I've created a total of 2 threads and only one of them was a thread asking a question (the other was for a pair of cm7 themes) and I made sure it hadn't been asked before. Understand a little better?

I am with you on how this i777 should behave and tone down but you list 3 reasons that I think useless, or should I say "non-productive", here's why
1. If you google/search and find nothing, you MUST think, I mean automatically think, that it is either NOT NOW or NEVER happen. Just like when you search a word and it isn't in the dictionary, you should automatically know that the word is not exist or not being defined yet.
2. custom ROM is for who love to flash, if ones don't want to flash, why would they come here in first place? Moreover, if AT&T decide to release their OFFICIAL ICS for this i777, the owners would get the update automatically, right? Then why stop here anyway
3. If the official ICS did come out? if so, then search/google in step one already yield some results.

Not everyone roots/roms. I'm waiting on the official update. From past experiences there are people within the industry on this sitewho have information that isn't yet released to the public.

He didn't ask for an ETA, he asked if there was any word.. and he got the answer that told him it's being worked on and several others being borderline rude.
Man.. these boards are a wealth of information but sometimes, I shake my head at how people treat each other.
Just my 2 cents.. worth exactly the price of the brainwave it's imprinted on.. (lol)

True, there is thread on the general section tht has the jb thread, is the only one open since other threads will get deleted there so keep and eye on that and what knoxter said is true since jb is out everyone is already "working on it" as we speak. Cm9 for us seems go be very stable since no known bugs have been posted by the devs but the installing of it is weird since cwm touch can't be used and my experience.with Cm9 was tht as.soon as I installed it my.external.sd card went "missing" meaning the system didn't detect it had to go to stock bc all of mybackup root couldn't b Initialized. The devs said they are working on cm10 for us so we have to wait a bit

What he asked is in the realm of an ETA. It's a useless thread. People are harsh because crap like this clutters up the forum for no good reason. Also, it puts pressure on the developers, when we should just leave them develop in peace, as that will allow them to get jb working sooner.

And you can't say people asking for stuff doesn't put pressure on the devs, as we've already had two top notch devs leave xda due to people asking too much of them and posting stupid stuff. If people don't learn the in's and out's of xda, more devs will follow.

And you can't say people asking for stuff doesn't put pressure on the devs, as we've already had two top notch devs leave xda due to people asking too much of them and posting stupid stuff. If people don't learn the in's and out's of xda, more devs will follow.

Damn! They left? That's messed up. If i were a dev i'd tell people messaging me "either pay me a bill or two or just wait in line like everyone else" haha

Cm9 for us seems go be very stable since no known bugs have been posted by the devs but the installing of it is weird since cwm touch can't be used and my experience.with Cm9 was tht as.soon as I installed it my.external.sd card went "missing" meaning the system didn't detect it had to go to stock bc all of mybackup root couldn't b Initialized.
