I thought development on CM7 was finished, but I noticed nightlies are still being produced.
http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?device=galaxys2att
However, I can't seem to find any information about it. (Who is working on them? Is there a change log?) The original XDA CM7 development thread is dead (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1286192&page=270)
Just wondering if anyone could tell me where to look; my usual resources have failed me.
(I am running 7.2.0-RC1)

I believe they just have a build bot for the builds so no one actually builds them themselves, most of the development is shifted towards cm9

Indeed. Thank you!

It seems to me that VAlpha 3 is pretty damn stable. All I really want is for Bluetooth to work. I can care less about 4G because where I live it will never exist, and if the 3D camera was to never work on CM7 or any other AOSP ROM for that matter I wouldn't lose sleep. My Cyanogenized dual core Shooter is amazing. Anybody have any info on it? Not asking for an ETA cause I know there never are any, but anyone have inside info? I'm foaming at the mouth waiting for a RC to show up on the CM site or on ROM Manager. Also who's pumped for CM9?

no i haven't bailed on anything. i've been working on developing the platform just as i always have. thread was closed because daily mods had to come into it to clean it. the entire thread went off the rails of the topic and was only being used to promote other roms and trolling people. when/if i release another updated alpha build, i will reopen the thread and post links. currently other devices are releasing alpha builds based off the work i and the rest of the CM team are developing for the msm8x60 platform. ive spent a lot of time trying to clean up issues with current changes in prep for merge one day. our device has a few issues which im addressing while doing the other stuff as well. all i can really say is, i im working on it, be patient.

Me too man I love CM7. Had some issues with my PLR on the first attempt to root/flash CM7 but it works great now! I hope the beta or other future release comes soon!
Anybody know if someone is actively working on CM7 for the thunderbolt?
I don't think so. They are working on CM9. I wish they would update it. But they won't.

Slayher was, but I think he just got a galaxy nexus so i'm not sure if he still is.
ProTekk over on Rootzwiki has been posting updated builds.

I think ProTekk has switched to another phone also... His repo doesn't have a successful build currently (He said he's in the process of fixing it). I tried messaging him on facebook but I haven't received a reply yet.
Active on CM9?
I've heard it mentioned that CM9 will be supported and that active dev. is ongoing right now, but I can't find anything official about that. Anyone have a link?
Workshed posted an updated version of CM7 on Rootzwiki a couple days ago. If you remember him from the Droid Eris, he great at keeping his roms updated.

It looks like official CM9 builds are starting to come out again. . .
I tried to search for a definitive answer and came up empty. I know that we are not supposed to ask "when?" but I just wanted to confirm "IF" the HP Touchpad will be getting official CM9 Nightly builds.
I apologize if I should know this. . . I just couldn't find a definitive answer.
I am enjoying CM9 Alpha 2 right now. . . You devs Rock!!!

What are different between CM9 Alpha 2 ROM and kings ROM, it is come from different development group of people ?

a kang, means stolen code. So it's a rom based on cm9 with tweaks. That's the short version.

stolen code
If we are using kang rom it is safe ?
Kang doesn't mean stolen. You can't steal open source code...
Kang means it was compiled by someone that isn't part of the official team/the person who made the code & isn't officially supported. So like when people say "Self-Kang" it means that they made the code themselves, but it's not officially supported by CM.

KANG does mean stolen code m8, it's a very old term, and it's not something specific to android or open source software.
I'll try to find a article for you.

This is from another forum:
This is the definition you would look for in Wikipedia Kang - A term used for stealing others intellectual property and claiming it as your own. (ie. When a developer uses another developer's work, and then publishes the end product as their own.)
Like building a cyanogen rom from source and making small edits and redistributing it. Not exactly as bad as it sounds like the definition suggests... sometimes, it it.

Or...why not just look here on XDA, in their WIKI, and see how XDA defines it?

As mentioned, you can't kang open source'd code.
You can, however, fail to attribute that code, and that's generally what kang'd refers to now.
[nothing personal, just incorrectly using kanged is starting to pet peeve me almost to the point of the rampant incorrect usage of bricked. using 'vector' by a layman (ie, non military tactician or graphic designer) to make things sound more sophisticated is a close 3rd]
edit:I meant "favours" obviously
Hi there,
I was playing lately with different ICS buids for GTab10.1 WiFi and got a question - are the builds available at get.cm and droidbasement.com/db_blog/ the same thing or not? It's easy to see differences between Kang and CM9, but I can't see nothing material in this case. I know pershoot is involved in CM9, but I'm not entirely sure if those builds are identical, or he's doing a side-job on his blog
Don't want to ask him personally, 'cos I'd rather he took care of porting JB over, as I saw AOKP source was just published!
Thanks in advance
Pershot's stuff goes into cm9 when he is ready... beta/preview test builds sometimes are on his blog but ....
His changelog is https://github.com/pershoot/
But cm9 and pershots are the same, I have seen him not be able to help people on kang, always the first question is "are you on cm9?"

I saw on Android Police over the weekend that the AOKP Team has finally released Milestone 2 of their 4.2.2 rom and it now includes all the GS4 variants.
I was wondering when someone might be posting about how it's working for them.

AOKP team is on rootzwiki. BMC is the official maintainer who is also on rootz primarily. The thread last I checked was under unofficial ports under the team section. It may have moved to official since I last checked. I stopped crack flashing everything when I actually released my 2 projects, been too busy to crack flash

I mentioned it simply because I saw the Android Police article. And yes, it has moved into the official line up of supported devices as of 7/21. I understand the AOKP home is rootzwiki but thought it should be mentioned here with all the rest of other ROMs being developed.
Thanks!

Im curious on this as well as I saw the news today on it. I was waiting on CM to produce a stable version, but say this and thought it might be something to use in the mean time. Anyone have any experience with it?
Apparently it's available on goo?
However it says mr1 milestone-2. No dates. Is this it?

Turns out this is milestone 2. Annoying thing is the 4g icon on themes don't really stick.

Anyone else test this out .... would love to hear more feedback.
Why are so many people timid when it comes to installing ROMs?
Backup and flash. If you don't like it flash back. Easy peasy

Go to the rootzwiki thread, look for BMc's 7/14 build. Has working IR blaster. It isn't officially supported, so it's not in the milestone. Nothing is noticeably different between his 7/14 and the official milestone.
