Thanks alot!! Thats the vid I was looking for!

we're u able to get the bottom cover off for the bottom 2 screws? I couldn't get it off for the life of me..

Take heat gun or blowdryer to the bottom speaker cover and warm it up for a bit... there are some pretty strong adhesives holding it down, that's why you're having a hard time getting it off

Antenna Mod?

http://www.cellphoneshop.net/inanboos.html
I saw that the 4g antenna is in the battery cover (so dont expect to see 4g with the battery cover off! lol) So I was wondering if I could use one of these to improve signal strength? Or maybe solder it along the top / inside of the battery cover and connect it to the existing one? Thoughts?
Isn't there a connection under the rubber circle near the kick stand for this?

Voiding warranty how? You could easily take this out as easily as you can put it in..... its not like you have to take the phone apart.

Really? What fits in there? Didn't notice that until just now... Haven't see any external antennas for this phone. Interesting.

Ok then maybe use glue or just use a piece of tape to connect them...... problem solved. And no its not a placebo b/c these things seem to work pretty well based on the reviews I've read.... worth a try at $2.

You have no idea the retarded day I had until I realized this as well....
but I also am experiencing the issue where once it shows the 4g, I have no connection, and I have to drop the mobile network for it to reconnect back to 3g. I am going to the store to see if we are on border 4g coverage or should I have 4g with no problems.

Yea I started to get pissed when I was moving my contacts over from my old incredible.... then I realized what I was doing.... *DOH*
I've only seen 3g once but I live in the middle of the city.
Its On Battery Cover? I seee. The 3g on this is way faster than my fascinate already. I wouldnt mind trying the chip if it improves cell signal. ide use tape or somthing lol.
maybe this would work in that under the rubber circle near the kick stand http://search.vzw.com/1/u1/T4/summa.../accessory_category/x3/acc.brand/x4/acc.model

I think that the guys who designed this phone are most likely WAY smarter than the marketing guys who are selling that. If it were to only cost $2 more to make the phone get much better reception, don't you think they would have done it in the original design?

curious question about the hole on the left side of phone

Just curious about what the hole on the left side of the phone is for? I never really thought about it..
I would ASSUME its for the signal, but i honestly don't know...
anyone know?
i noticed em too when i first got the phone i thought it was a camera but i think it might be the light sensor or maybe gps of some sort? gps says it needs an outdoor view, so maybe it uses that? id like to know too as im curious about it

that hole is used for a Lanyard Strap. Take off the cover and you can see light through it. that is where the loop can be placed through.

Backcover sounds

Hey,
I know there is a similar thread to this but I just can't find it. Sorry guys.
Well let me tell the problem. After removing the backcover a few times I find that the backcover started to make squish sounds. Sounds come off from somewhere in middle of right side between volume and video button. It is clear that something has broken but can't figure out what. Issue seems to come from the backcover scratching the bezel. This makes me for the first time think about letting my amaze go. Tell me what you think please.
Cheers
I have that same noise..its frustrating..i just got this phone not longer than 3 weeks..

Looked more into it and yes it's coming from the bezel and the back cover. Very frustrating ..we need a solution ......apart from getting a new phone

This issue was already stated. Have you done a search? There is a quick solution, but for me it went away after some time.

Try This:
Take out the phone from the battery cover, Now push the white locking tab inwards while putting the battery cover back on, it makes a huge difference for me.
Hope the same for you, let me know if it helped.

I thinly cut up some command strips (only peeled off one side) and put them on the back cover near the spots the noise was coming from. Took 7 but it feels much more solid now and no noise.

Man this phone is awesome bit it has so many issues
1. Capacitive buttons lights leak to the screen
2. Camera flash also bleeds into pictures
3. A dead pixel
4. The backcover noise
5. Lack of full support from htc
Sent from my HTC_Amaze_4G using xda premium
Don't know how valid this is because I use a tight case. But someone said to put it in a cold place, like a garage or outside or even the refrigerator. His argument was that the case would shrink and while small you could fit it back on.

If you take the back cover off and you look on the back just to the top left corner of the battery there is a small spring loaded contact. If you look at the corresponding area inside of the back cover you will see a small mark on the aluminum where it is rubbing (on the inside about half way down from the bottom of the volume rocker and the top of the camcorder button).
It seems like too much of a coincidence that there is a spring loaded bearing in the exact area causing the squeaking and that not be part of the issue.
Does anyone know if that is an electrical contact like some of the other ones on the top half of the phone?

Pretty sure they are the contacts for the phone antenna. The manual warns that the phone antenna are built into the back cover and to make sure that the cover is on tightly to receive proper phone and data signal. Might want to be careful of these with paper or command strips when making the cover fit!

1,4,5 are the biggest problems. Think this is the last HTC phone I'm going to buy ...so what's next?
Samsung ...no way ..cheap plastic phones
LG - same as above but with some extra crap
Moto - seems like a good choice but limited support as well
Sony - are they ever going to release a high end phone?

Are you sure? The "Top/Headphone Jack" picture has the hole near the edge towards the black front casing. But on my phone it's towards the edge near the battery cover.

Maybe just me, but it feels much more "well-built".
The battery back door is much harder and stiffer than the flimsy original black one.
Also the batter back door is smooth, I personally like the feel better when compared to the textured original battery door.

Yes it is glossy and looks really nice in the sun
Oh sorry, my bad. That was just my way of testing the power button without turning off the screen haha.
No the power button and volume keys don't stick at all.
EDIT: Oh I see what you mean. You mean the part when I test the volume button, a menu pops up in the back right?
That is because I use the AudioManager app and when I press the volume buttons, a menu pops up that asks me if I want to change sound profile
It is not the power menu.

[Q] Put in the fridge to get mobile black spot
