Sense, regardless of the version, is built on top of a specific build of android. Sense 3.0 was built on 2.3.3 I believe, Sense 3.5 was on 2.3.5, 3.6 is on 4.0.3 and 4.0 is on 4.0.3. AFAIK you cannot take sense out of a build an put it onto another build. They are too intermingled. Anyone can correct me if this is wrong, but I thought this is the case.
tl;dr: No

Here's a better question I think. Will the improvements brought to Jelly Bean via Project Butter be able to be added into ICS/Sense 4.0 builds? Is this kernel related or built into the 4.1 framework? That would be nice.

Just give it time, it's not even officially out, the devs here do amazing work.
Look at my old hd2, freaking 3 mobile os's to choose from with aosp 4.0 working fully.
Bet hd2 has a better chance with jelly bean. Lol

Until HTC releases source code for the camera and the ICS kernel, you're probably right. The 3d is hard to dev for, especially without source code.
All jelly bean discussion goes here for now on

hi, is there an ics rom for the sgs2 which hasn't been samsung-ized? i guess the same as what's on the nexus.
i've spent about half an hour looking round here and google. i found this
http://www.androidauthority.com/galaxy-s2-pure-ics-rom-50788/
but it's a couple of months old and wondered if there was anything more recent?
thanks, kris
I think this is what your looking for http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1601518
There are indexes of ROMs in both the Android Development and Original Android Development sections. You'll want to look at the ones labelled as AOSP or AOKP. Look them over, research them, flash them to try them out yourself.

Yeah, that (F1) is one option... Not sure why, but it's not listed in either of the indexes.
Neither is this one (CBR).
Both of these (F1 and CBR) are those developers attempts to capture the true Google AOSP feel of ICS.
perfect, thanks both!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1419102 is also an option, most of the other AOSP/AOKP based ROMs use the device specific repositories from Cyanogen for the SGS2.
I am using a pretty good one too. It's the Resurrection Remix (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1436854).
You should take a look.
The pure rom is released in a special version 2.0. I like this rom. It's based on a official samsung rom with a ics theme and the aosp apps. The samsung bloatware is removed.

Till now we all know that Android 4.1 Jellybeans is in slot now. Even SDK is out. Sources are not on-line though. But I believe it will be very soon.
Now it's a big question whether LG P500 can hold Jellybeans or not? As fas as information on net concern Yes we can see JellyBeans on our beloved LG P500 As drivers are almost same so it wont be a big problem to port it in our phone. With only 5-6 major changes JB is almost same as ICS. Some new features are there in JB like Google NOW, Off-line voice text is very cool about JB.
So in short we will see JB as soon as they release source codes.
If you find anything interesting you guys can post here so that we can have faith that LG P500 will have JB.
Happy Hacking.
JB on P500
Of course me and every O1 owner will more than glad to see Jelly Bean to be ported to it.We have stable ICS on our device and if JB is ported then our device will become the most worthy phone of all.
"COME ON DEVS"!!!:good:
Hope we can see Jelly Bean in our device, hope devs can do it as they ported ICS
Sources should be out by mid July according to Google.

I think that without sources no one could tell you if it is possible or not. Let's wait for sources to be available.
Woots, that would be brilliant.

So many devices already got it ported .
Sent from my LG-P500 using Tapatalk 2
I do not think porting will help in case of P500. So many things will be broken. We have only CM9 libs and binaries so it won't help that much. But build from sources will be a great option.
I think google now and offline voice will be in the next gapps, which I am sure will work on ICS

Would anyone else love to see the 4.2.2 ROM ported from the Google Edition One to the DNA? I have been trying to get some sweet stock Android on my DNA for a long time and it doesn't appear there are any ROMs on here or anywhere else that would accomplish that. Is it possible?

Right, but isn't that still just a developmental progress? I would love CM as well but I don't think they have a stable release yet.
I really hope this phone opens up roms for our phone

CM vs. Stock Android = two completely different roms. I want to use the CM 10.1 roms, but they don't have working BT audio yet. Maybe this phone's rom will help them get it working? The GPE rom will get tweaked and modded by the htc one community and hopefully those will be easily ported to the dna. Sense is cool and all, but I would like to free up some space on my stupid 16gb of non-expandable storage more than anything. Heck it might even get better battery life without all that htc stuff running in the background? Keeping my fingers crossed. :good:
There are plenty of stock roms. Not necessarily pure aosp, but there's cm amongst many other roms. And they are all about 99% working.

Our linux kernel version (3.4) permits us access to the next few updates of Android since it is a long term support version. This means we could theoretically get 4.2+ on our device, but I doubt it will be officially

Well I'm pretty sure Google is copying Apple with its update styles now, with .x updates being minor and keeping the name, so 4.3 will be Jelly Bean still. Android 5 will follow the pattern with Google's names, with its alphabetical order.
C-Cupcake
D-Donut
E-Eclair
F-Froyo
G-Gingerbread
H-Honeycomb
I-Ice Cream Sandwich
J-Jelly Bean
Key Lime Pie looks likely for Android 5.
