Those of us who are too scared or just lacking in skills to upgrade ROMs and have the OTA ICS, probably should have had it for a few days now. I was wondering what people were making of it, good bad?
I would say that for me by far the best thing is the Launcher (I think I have described it correctly) Replacing the excessviely large "phone" button and the very rarely used after you have got your phone set up "personalise" button with 4 customisable ones is fantastic (I know that other launchers offer this but I tried them and always prefered to stay with sense)
I was insensed when I used the Quick Settings and coudln't see settings there, I even went as far as to place a shortcut on my deesktop, only to see that they have hidden it as the small grey and white symbol, lol!
I would say that it seems to be somehow even worse on battery useage, although not by much and I haven't propperly obseved it yet.
Apart from that I haven't really noticed any major changes aside from teh removal of the pwer saver settings, I have installed an app that allows access but can't see how to change when it is activated.
Here's a thread where it's already being discussed:

But that thread is nearly entirely about installing without losing root etc, I was wondering more about peoples experiences of actaully using ICS.
Ics sucks.big time.i really regret updating.
Cons
I cant use screen filter app to turn off the soft keys.the irritatin soft keys wont turn off any more.the resultant light leakage at the base just makes me angry.
3d video playback isnt as smooth as it used to be.it stutters very minutely.took the fun out of watchin 3d movies on the phone.
Previously i was able to play 1080p mkv via dice player without any hiccup.now there are hiccups.
The stock video player is crappy as usual.
No burst mode or takin stills while recording in camera.
Asphalt 6 doesnt work on 3d any more.
Srs doesnt work on music player.
So no real improvements for me here except for the changed settings menu and a bit smoother transaction animations.its like htc was purposefully makin it worse to make people change the phone.
I wish i didnt update.i wish i could downgrade :'(

By softkeys I assume you mean the capacitive buttons? If so try Keyboard Backlight Controller. I didn't give it the rather misleading name. I think you can get it from Play.

Is this update the same base as the custom ones that have been circling around? Ive been using a custom one for a while, and while it is good, the battery life is making me consider getting a galaxy s3.
Well for me , the ICS is great. I love the new camera app. I have a lot more colors in the pictures. And i love this. The old GB made photos almost black and white even with the saturation on full.
The widgets and the new sense 3.6 i love. Is more customizable. And it really works a lot more smoother the sense 3.
I found till now some bugs. But i don't know where to report them to htc. Can't find the "contact dev team " on they site.... anyway.
Bugs so far:
Widget Power Dashboard , sometimes the animations stay over and i have a wifi icon with 7 bars over it , not 3.
The streaming player is really a disaster. 80% of sites that used to use stream player , now says " Can't load video " Only youtube works. Not even ES Video Player works, the only app that i can use now is Sopcast.
The videos playing on the default browser , are really horrible. In FULL SCREEN MODE in 90% of the cases i can't use any of the players buttons. You just push them , and doesn't work. You have to exit the full screen , push what you need and then go back into full screen.
Sometimes if you try to seek the video a bit further it just ramains Black , the player. The video plays in background , you can hear it , but no image. Only solution to get it back , is to refresh the page. And restart the video. ( strange is that on youtube videos , all this works perfectly , but on any other websites or flash player based videos doesn't)
No more power management
If phone is unde 5% battery and you put it on charge. The screen will keep turning of after 30 seconds till the phone passes 10-15% battery , and then get's back to 1 minute timeout screen.
Edit :
Onavo Extended doesn't work.
Onavo says " Are you running an official ROM of ICS for your device?
In any case, It seems that your device uses a ROM that is missing important networking support that Android 4.0 APIs and Onavo Extend rely on. Android OS upgrade should fix the problem. Also, if you manually installed the ROM yourself, trying a different ROM should fix the problem.
We are compiling a list of supported ROMs and plan to publish it in the near future. We will keep you posted.
We truly apologize for the inconvenience and hope that you will be able to enjoy Onavo Extend benefits soon enough. "
I like the ICS update.
1. Battery longer lasting.
2. My screen brightness is much higher.
3. Phone is much more responsive.
4. 3D rendering seems much easier.

I agree with you. And some apps just work great on ics.
I also love that music player , that they put a volume button . And that if you press the volume key , you can then slide with your finder the volume from the screen. Also , the mails are more responsive. Usually they had a delay of about 15-60 seconds. Now sometimes are instant. So an improvement .
And i love the new Folders. Are sooo usefull now.
The task manager from the ics is also great. ( pressed home key )
Oh , and the youtube new app , is great. It even has a Live category where you can watch Live shows. Great.
The new gallery is a bit improved and more hansom .

The camera Shutter Speed , is almost the same. No improvement there.
Last longer compared to GB , cause now for navigating trough the menu doesn't use that much CPU anymore. But uses GPU with a bit of cpu (if needed) , and this increases the battery life.
An exemple: with tha battery at 20% i can now read news , navigate the web , watch some videos ( no games ) for almost 2 hours.
Compared to GB where when the battery reaches 20% was like saying "battery depleted" couse in max 20 minutes the battery was almost empty.
Don't know if it was just me or....
From 20% to 0% how much take's you?

I've updated today, and now the 3D doesn't seem to be working - this happened once before and a reboot resolved it, but that has not worked this time round.
Any pointers? Basically, the 3D "eyes" are generating a cross-eyed image on screen, playback has the right image showing from the left & vice versa, camera use just generates blurry 2D images.
other than that, the ICS update seems very good - start up is a lot quicker, and all the Google apps seem to have been aesthetically improved. "More Tron like" as somebody said to me.
I got the ICS+Sense 3.6 update and I'm enjoying it so far. It's all stock since I bought (no custom ROM or root, as I haven't saw the necessity of this).
So much sleeker and faster than 3.0!
Had a problem with the spell correction but after playing with the settings it normalized. Apart from the default SMS "Messages" app, where it'll underline in red all the words that aren't English [my mother language is Brazilian Portuguese, I use the phone in English and the keyboard in Portuguese] - but I'm not sure if this problem is new with this update lol.
I like how I can disable stock apps now, I could disable all the bloatware and take away many apps I don't use from the app drawer.
(Immediately disabled Google+, take that Google! haha)
Also, it solved a bug where the phone would think it was with the headphones plugged-in which made it stop doing any sounds through its speaker: if you stopped the music using the physical play/pause button in the headphones and unplug them while the device in sleep mode (screen turned off) that would happen and there would be no ringtone or alarm sounds until I played a media sound manually for it to recognize the headphones aren't there anymore. :good:
The Music app got a queue feature where we can select which songs to play next, like a playlist you build in real time. That's everything I was looking for in the music player!!
The new HTC Notes app is very good and comparable to the one I'm using, Handrite. I'll be testing the new one, the difference being Handrite has dedicated buttons to quickly copy, paste, undo, redo and more text/trace/paper formatting settings..., and more widget sizes to choose. While HTC Notes let you to sync with Evernote and record sound into your notes, I don't really dig into this idea so it's a matter of personal needs.
What I don't like about it:
HTC:
- There's no direct Wi-fi toggle in the notifications bar anymore, I don't understand why HTC would remove it.
- The album art in the Music app appears smaller, I wish there was some sort of configuration...
ICS:
- The setting for entirely disabling background data doesn't exist anymore. :/
- There's no way to set ringtone and notification sound volume separately.
These are my impressions so far.
I might send some e-mails to HTC regarding these issues. It seems they value user feedback as they have a wonderful customer support service.

Most of you guys know about which apps are great but some never share.
So I'm hoping you will share some of those apps you like/love with us and those that visit the site. If you do please write them down and explain what they do and why you like them.
- SMART ROTATOR – Lets you rotate individual apps instead of everything. Some people claim the auto rotate wastes battery life so I’m giving this a shot and I like it. Even if it doesn’t save battery life.
- SETCPU for root users. If you want better battery life set it to max and min to 760. DOES make a difference and speed still OK. Want to see the atrix move even faster? Set max and min to 1000! REALLY NICE.
- DROIDLIGHT LED FLASHLIGHT. I like this one cause you click on the icon and it turns the flashlight on right away. There are others but I like this one better so far. BUT, I have not tried ALL of them yet
- KEYBOARD FROM ANDROID 2.3 (GINGER BREAD KETBOARD). Play with the setting till you get how you like it. Really nice.
- MYLOCK UTILITIES – Lets you set the screen unlock so all you have to do is press the power button and you’re in! No need to SLIDE the buggy screen unlock.
- BRIGHTNESS LEVEL (DONATE). I like this app so much I bought the donate version. It’s simple and fast. Let’s you adjust the brightness of the screen.
- TOTAL SCREEN CONTROL – MUST have app if you use your phone at night in bed. The default “0” setting is way to bright! So I use this to FILTER the screen and works and looks great! Saves battery and your eyes.

last I read setCPU didn't work yet for the atrix due to differences in the atrix's kernel and the xoom. I could be wrong though
Yes, setCPU doesn't seem to work or work well on the Atrix. every time I restart the phone, it will give an error stating that setCPU have failed to start or something like that. I hope they fix it soon so I can OC the phone lol
keyboard from Gingerbread is amazing! Love it; it's so much more accurate than the stock Atrix keyboard and also more responsive.
I'm new to the android world, I need more apps to fill this phone up
circle battery widget
shows battery life in 1% increments rather than 10%
also, you can put it on the home screen so you can quickly check battery life without needing to click on anything
SETCPU work for me. CANNOT OC but it keeps it at 1000 which is very noticeable in speeds. Its also works to UNDER clock as well. You just have to enable profiles than create your own at the speed you want.
Hmm I wonder why setcpu won't work for me then. I've reinstalled it too.
I'll try the circle batt widget. Hopefully it'll work on mine lol

Ive noticed this sinse ive bought the phone but i cant see why it lags so much on the simple task ie. when on the home screen it stutters when scrolling through the home panels ( i do have quite a bit of widgets but that shouldnt make a diffrence ) the browser on the other hand is fine? . One other thing ive noticed is that the camera takes quite a bit of time to take to picture and ready itself for a next one? the pictures still look amazing but my freind has a single core desire hd which has the same results instantly? Is there a fix to this in a rom or such im currently running a stock rom which has had the mods so that it doesnt lag?
Possibly bloatware? Try going into the privacy & security settings and do a factory wipe + usb wipe as well. If you bought the phone from carrier, this should hopefully remove all the carrier bloatware apps. If they are still there, then that means the bloatware is built into the ROM and you can't get rid of it without rooting and a custom ROM.
anyway there is absolutely no reason why the phone should be sluggish at the home screen. The stock touchwiz is already the smoothest stock launcher out there imo

The lag most prob is to do with having lots of Widgets remove them and see if it makes it better.
Not noticed a delay with the camera app tbh might be to do with the focus options, you could mess about with the see if it speeds it up.
Yeah having too many widgets might be one factor, personally ive no lag whatsoever.
how do you have your phone set up so i can use the same rom as you etc.?
Bro we hav same prob but mine even worse..item age:1week(without root),1widgets, was downloaded 15 application from Android Market(Antivirus Free,Quadrant Standard,Fruit Ninja,Battery Indicator..etc).RAM status frequently maximum 355MB in use after clear 248-258MB. Setting Power Saving Mode. Rate with Quadrant Standard 3107point. The Main problem are 1)DELAY-(when open application such as clock, calendar, calculator, downloads, message inbox... average delaying 3-4sec), 2)LAGGING-(sometimes open gallery delay up-to 18sec, Playing Third Blade with delay performance, sometimes no response), 3)FORCE CLOSE-(When open new tab with Internet Browser, No Response while Playing certain Market Games-Task Manager status took-off all processing speed.Half Playing of Fruit Ninja, no response, auto jump to main menu...Somehow no solution to fix it....
Hi OP i have the same problem with the camera lag as well....recently ive notice a distinctly longer waiting period for the photo to save before the next shot is ready. anyway i thought it was my imagination until i compared it with my friend's S2 - which was lightning fast when processed.
If anyone have ideas on how to rectify the issue that would be really great!

Improvements:
- Mini apps - Use some apps on top of your other running apps.
- Place apps in a folder on your home screen.
- Take screen capture.
- Theme is much more smoother.
- Slide notifications to remove.
- Improved settings menu.
- Cradle option "Choose action" when when you place your tab in dock"
- On lockscreen chose between unclock and use camera.
- Camera is optimized.
- Disabling built-in apps |Hogaburger|
- Google Chrome |Bojanglez|
- and some other little stuff.
Disadvantages:
- Screen flickering ( Sometimes )
- Can't personalize your app menu anymore.
- No face unlock ( but I don't care )
- Still a scratching sound while playing music (I think its a hardware prob.)
- And some more can't remember right now

All of the above plus you can run Google Chrome.
The mini apps are really cool, Sony did a good job withn them.
google chrome is sweet, im trying to find more apps that require you to have ICS

I'd just like to say that the flickering and audio scratching aren't on every tab. Mine is perfect for audio, and the only flickering I get is for like a quarter of a second maybe 2 times per day... and that's only when launching a game or something so it's not like it happens while I'm in the middle of something.
Also, more advantages:
-the ability to slide to remove the recent apps (also clears from memory).
-Able to play files directly from SD card **PLUS** this works a million times better now!!! I was previously taking my tab with loads of episodes of family guy on it to work everyday. I was having constant problems with audio and video stuttering or even not starting at all. Now it just instantly loads and plays perfectly.
-keyboard input lag is gone (one of the best improvements in my opinion. I nearly destroyed the tab 100 times from trying to respond to emails and it taking forever)
I was actually going to buy the ASUS transformer prime as soon as it became available... but after this update I'll definitely be able to hold out for the next sony one now. I also love the calculator lol. I strangely find myself needing a calculator while I'm in the middle of an app ALL the time...but that's probably just me lol.

its not just "smoother UI", thats really not doing it justice.... its night and day in terms of 'snappiness' and finally comes close to the fruit shop experience. ALso no more stupid homescreen crashing/reloading all the time

Although Mahaco's right that this probably isn't the best place for this, this easter egg has been in Android since roughly 2.1 (I think) with new artwork for each version. HC gave you the HC Bee (with a BZZZZZZZ... Toast), Gingerbread gave you a weird Gingerbread Man Zombie painting by an Artist (whose name is in the Toast). This can actually be swapped since it's located somewhere (I've forgotten where) in the framework-res.
Also, for those wondering about the "smoother UI", it is a whole level better since the Android System is now Hardware Accelerated in official ICS updates. This means the UI is able to fully leverage the power of the ULP GeForce graphics chip in the Sony.
I didn't see a thread to list any problems / issues that you have with the new TMO KitKat release, so I created this one! I'll start:
With the new version, I can't put Google Now on the main lockscreen. It is placed on the lockscreen to the right of the initial lock screen, but I have to swipe to see that, and I may as well just unlock the device, where the Google Now widget is on my home screen. With 4.3 I had that Google Now widget on the main lock screen.
For those who may not have used it, one can swipe left on the lockscreen and view widgets. More screens can be added, although the list of widgets available for the lockscreen is somewhat limited.

HD 720/1080p MP4 videos (downloaded HD music videos) stutter occasionally and feel like they maybe slightly out of audio sync. Contrast seems lower and brightness seems to high, faces seem more washed out and seems not as high resolution as previous 4.3 and 4.1.2. I see more blocks and pixelation that I remember.
Beats Audio does not sound as good, less bass and lower highs make it sound noticeably worse especially on headphones.
Weird wallpaper issue when using my own wallpaper. After certain length of time in apps like chrome or newsstand, after exiting, the wallpaper, if not on BlinkFeed, is not extended all the way past the dock. There appears a shadow affect or crop issue were the scrolls bar is. If you scroll to right and back it fixes.
Poor battery life, but this could be an issue with certain apps like Google Plus (it just used my entire 500mb in a couple hours with no auto backup or photo backup).
A little sluggish in certain system menus that you wouldnt think it would be, cant remember which ones, could be while moving folders around.
When WiFi optimization is on, it frequently does not want to reconnect well after leaving a wifi area and returning. It shows connected but speed is very slow.
The HTC Messaging app contact photo issue from 4.3 has been fixed
Personally I think they restricted the memory requirement too much for phones with more than 1gb ram.
I would downgrade back to 4.3 but dont know how
Ive gone from 4.1.2 to 4.3 to 4.4.2 within only a few days so I was kinda familiar with how things worked on the previous versions before I updated to 4.4.2, plus I have OCD)
It's good to hear the 4.3 messaging contact picture bug is fixed. Too bad I won't be updating to 4.4. No flash. Lame

I hadn't realized Flash didn't work. I don't really use it. It is odd, since the flash player is still installed on my device. Stupid Google...
Got Flash working
I got flash working on my kitkat by using the following instructions:

Two issues I'm having:
- When I connect to my external speaker via bluetooth, my wifi speed drops tremendously. Didn't happen before.
- My screen keeps randomly turning on. It's very annoying. Can't find a reason or a setting that could be causing it.
Also (this one isn't really a "bug"), when I plug in my phone, the screen turns on. I remember previous HTC phones used to do this, but they stopped it with the One, which I liked. But unfortunately it's back now
My picture quality is way down with this update. On 4.3 I had the stock camera app and the Nexus 5 camera app on it and they took great photos and corrected the faint purple hue I'd get sometimes. On 4.4 there is tons of noise and color hues even in bright lit rooms! So I'm back on 4.3 for now and the camera is great again.
Battery life is worse for me
After 5 days with KitKat now, battery life has not improved. I used to burn at about 3-3.5% / hour in a normal day on 4.3 JB. It is now around 4.5-5% / hour. The battery use screen on Sense does not offer any helpful information either. Now, BetterBatteryStats is unable to collect partial wakelock information (it can with root, which I don't have).
BBS does allow me to see that my CPU is in deep sleep about 7 out of the last 8.5 hours. That doesn't seem right. I can't see any apps that would be waking it that much and I have only had screen on for 15-20 minutes reading email, etc. It seems like something is hold the CPU awake, but BBS won't tell me any more.
I have turned off Blinkfeed and Auto sync and it made no difference. I am starting to disable apps now.
Any other suggestions on how to troubleshoot this? (preferably without rooting)

Turn off automatic sync for all applications, shut off GPS (set location status to medium or low).

Thanks. I had already done both of those.
Keep pushing the suggestions. I am trying to see if I can correct without a factory reset.
Well, I seem to have fixed my battery drain issues. I did a factory reset and started from scratch. *gah*
I did do an adb backup before, but it wouldn't restore. So, the upside is I can setup everything from scratch and add apps, etc. one at a time.
no more option to set lockscreen wallpaper......sux

Hey everyone,
This will be a Thread for collecting all the kinds of bugs and other issues you might have encountered.
I talked to the german FB group and talked about them sending them a collection of bugs etc from the community. They gave me an email address (from the communication team) where i can send it to once everything is done.
They will then proceed to send the information to the people developing for axon 7 (A2017G in this case). Of course it's not guaranteed that they will definitely fix all the issues. But it's worth a shot imo.
So at first it's important that bugs have the most importance in this thread since those have to be fixed in order to get an enjoyable oreo experience.
BUT you can also post any features you want to have back (examples are daydream, screen color calibration)
To get things finally started, here are the issues that i gathered so far from this thread:
-SD card mounting issues (SD card doesn't stay mounted after reboot)
-Increased battery drain (mixed opinion, some say it's worse, some say it's the same as nougat)
-Preinstalled apps which are uninstallable (like Accuweather, WPS Office) reinstall themselves after reboot
-Events set in Google calendar don't show a notification
-Bluetooth audio developer options (LDAC, 32bit, 96khz, etc) do not stick
-screencast not working on some miracast devices
-Panorama has lower vertical resolution (approximately 1900px while Nougat had 2800px)
-Charging sound file is missing (now it uses error sound file when connecting/disconnecting USB which sounds really annoying)
Missing Features that you wish to come back or added:
-Screen Color Calibration
-Daydream (which might come back since how they worded it to be temporarily disabled)
-Camera2 api not yet fully implemented
-Vulkan API (was present in Nougat, now removed in Oreo for unknown reason)
-Screen lock app (shortcut in quick settings to lock the device)
-Option to remove Carrier name in status bar
-Dark Mode option (preferably true black background for the while UI like quicksettings menu, settings menu etc for max SOT.)
-More sorting options for stock music player (by title number etc instead of by alphabetical order)
-ZTE Toolbox app
I'm sure there is more. But this is what i have found so far as of now. If there is any more issues you encountered, please post them so i can add them to the list.
Also if i missed any additional info for the issues above, please feel free to tell me.
- Dark mode option
- further dimming option (lowest brightness still too bright)
- screen off toggle/widget
1. Screen cast still won't work well, I never get it connected to miracast since nougat and they didnt fix it on oreo, all my other devices work so good with the same miracast.
2. Battery drain faster than nougat or I think this even worse than oreo beta build B01.
Feature:
- The alphabetical order on music folder for stock music is still annoying. No one hopes listening music from A to Z based on title.

I don't know if it's just me, but I have a bug where the download manager won't download anything for a long time despite having stable internet connection. This affects Play Store app downloads and downloads other than Chrome (since Chrome has its own download manager it seems). Basically, if I want to quickly download an app or update them, the initialisation starts but it keeps waiting for stuff to download. It won't abort with an error, it just sticks to the spinning circle. In the notification bar you won't see the download arrow animation, which should be there actually. But if I lay down my phone for a while and then pick it up, it may start downloading normally. It's very annoying, you can imagine m

I know what you mean. But it's not a bug from oreo. I had this too on nougat. Sometimes it still happens. But not as often as it used to be. Dunno what fixes it sadly, but thats probably an issue of play services messing up something since the axon 7 isn't alone. Many other devices have this problem as well sometimes. It comes and goes randomly.
And as you said, chrome and other apps with their own download manager don't seem to have these issues. Again, it's probably play services doing something wrong. Not sure tho, just a guess as play services had many problems in their history

What do you mean with dark mode? Like amoled substratum themes? Or like night light?
Poor wifi and 4g reception. This has been my main problem with this rom.

Quick settings, status bar and system settings are all unbearably white. Due to Google's safety measures you can't even use a third party filter anymore.
On Nougat you could change the quick settings to gray at least and use a third party filter for all the rest. On Oreo, no chance at all. What a bad user experience!
So why even bother with a system update, if it doesn't let you adjust the display brightness to your liking anymore?! And I haven't even mentioned the usefulness of an all white UI on an AMOLED screen (Battery!?).
Panorama has lower vertical resolution.
Nougat approx 2800px
Oreo approx 1900px
Signal issues
Hd calls work with incoming but call does not connect for outgoing
Band switching issue band keeps switching thats the main reason for battery drain on 4g
My network is Jio 4g in India
It works in band 3 5 and 40
3 and 5 bands work together but they wont work well with 40 that is they keep switching from one to other with internet connecting and disconnecting
So i switched off band 40 using network signal guru app with magisk root permissions and everything works fine except slow internet speed and persistent hd call issue
Can anyone make solution for band issue
If there is a possiblity to reduce the heat generated during simple tasks.
I had most of those issues: significantly worse battery life, camera freeze when using RAW capture, when I reseted the phone, everything is back to normal, maybe battery is like 5-10% worse than nougat but not sure. Can't say anything about the missing features. I want them too, but most of wanted a Stock + UI and now we complain ? vanilla Android lacks many features like it or not. Hope they release some future firmware update to fix any issues and update the security bulletin.

You had most of these because i used the same thread your post was in as well about the freezing raw capture with stock cam.
But you are the first and only one who had this happen with the camera. So far nobody else reported having the same issue.

I never ever wanted Stock Android. Stock is the least customizable iteration of Android. So who could want this kind of user experience? People who think Google knows what's best for you? Ridiculous!
Any one tried downgrading to Nougat?
Tried official update.zip. Downgrade FAILS!

You can't downgrade with the official update.zip
Also this is the wrong thread to post this. This thread is for bugs found in oreo.
I appear to be having poor quality sound when playing audio though the main speakers. There's a hissing sound.

I disagree on both of your statements. here is why:
1. It is possible to downgrade, but not with all official update.zip that exist (I succeeded in the meantime!)
2. It is a bug in the Oreo rom that the device type is not set, preventing majority of old update.zip to run since they check the device type
I am missing the stock Nougat 'lock screen' option in the Quick options menu. I am using an app to soft lock the screen at the moment which works but am not sure at all why they removed it in first place.
I am also missing the Messaging and Phone customization options available in Nougat, including the different message bubbles types and the background change settings. It is now simply white and blue and you couldn't change it.
I have had a hard time fixing the Notification problem Oreo brought to many apps, including system, resulting in oversleeping for alarm clock app not working at all. This may not be a particular problem of ZTE directly since apparently it is an Oreo issue but I still don't understand why so many notifications have been forced to the swipe-down menu without default option to disable them. Like "this and this process running in the background" and using default notification tone for every single thing happening to the phone. Adjusting settings in Android System notification modes solved some problems but delayed or not showed at all certain notifications like SMS messages or alarm clock not working - even though these were specifically made to pop and make sound.
Battery life for me varies. It may be up to 10-12 hours if I don't do almost anything and just keep it in stand-by to 3-4-5 hours if I use the screen, some browsing and listening to music. Screen-on-Time in general is up to 2-3 hours in best case scenario. Also sometimes for no apparent reason I see the battery percentage going down like every few seconds by 1 percent and with no use of anything special, just the screen. Overall I could rate it (a little) worse than Nougat considering that I've now gone through all Power settings and disabling anything I don't need per app.
I can only congratulate ZTE for making Dolby Atmos now working on both earphones and front speakers at all times, including with custom player equalizer running at the same time as Dolby Atmos. It never worked for me and was also accompanied with various bugs on all 6, 6.1, 7 and 7.1.
The "choose what your SD card should do" on every restart is pretty bad and I strongly prefer the Nougat behavior when it simply worked. Maybe adding a Setting - "do not ask again" or an option in the System Settings where you can change the status of the SD card on the go would work better than unmounting it every time. This causes many issues with file managers, players and different other apps with files located on the SD card. I hope they re-work it.
Finally, I noticed that Ultra Power Saver works in a much worse way than it did on Nougat. It kind of goes into another OS mode upon return from which it does not start apps that are set to auto-start upon reboot. The Nougat style of simply black-and-whit-ening the screen and turning off any data was so much better and didn't return the phone in a half-functioning state when connected to the charger. Also at 15% as I adjusted it, the middle power saving function (Power Saver or so) does not seem to be at least visibly working so the battery keeps draining as fast as if it was not on.
So, in short - dark(er) Quick Menu, getting back Nougat default app customization options, fixing the SD card message upon every reboot, not forcing TouchPal to be default keyboard or in use even if another keyboard is chosen, or disabling both, and possibly working on better battery life would be all amazing. I still think ZTE did a great job with 8.0 and am happy they finally released it to us.
The phone was frozen and restarted several times.
After that, fingerprint doesn't work and I had to reconfigure fingerprint record.
