New EVO user. - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

I have been swapping out phones like mad lately. In the last 6 months I have gone from the OG EVO, to the photon, then the s2, gnex and now EVO.LTE. everyone I rooted. Had the EVO one day, looking for recommendations for a Rom. On my s2 blazer was awesome. Got 24 hrs plus on battery. Gnex couldn't even come close. Anyone have a recommendation for a Rom with great battery life?
Thanks!

A good recommendation would be mean rom. While it might not hav ethe best battery right now I can still get through a full day without charging. The reason i'd go with mean rom is cause I ran it on my evo 3d and it was perfect. It gets a lot of great updates and the support is amazing. It'll soon have the best battery and best features of any rom The link is my sig, enjoy

I am not rooted yet but I know viper was the first Rom out and he supports his Rom so strongly. He is also focused on battery life. You may wanna check that out.

The PkMn 5.0 build is pretty awesome too. Took it to about 36 hours before I got to 5%. About 2.5 hrs of talk and 3 hrs of screen on. Don't have a screen cap for that though. Sad face.

Very nice guys. Thank you. I like the phone a lot. I about 12 hrs yesterday. My first full day with it. I know.once the battery breaks in, it will be a little better. Getting 24+ hours would be great!
I also think sense is a little overboard. It looks nice, but is just too much. Need to thin it down a bit.

I also just got my EVO is there a Rom with the best performance like a noticeable improvement from stock even though stock is very nice!

Best Rom currently for battery

I have a Rogers htc evo 3d
I rooted and s-off yesterday, I am currently using king cobra 1.6 rom, battery life seems to drop pretty quick, what's the best ROM for battery life? An I best going back to stock?

I have used, several roms and have found kings ROM best for reception. As for your battery question. The longer the ROM is used the better the battery gets. I use my EVO for everything, torrents, email, text, calls and just playing around and get a full 18 to 24 hours of use.
Hope this helps.

CDMA Sprint (USA) Evo 3D Roms won't work with the GSM Evo 3D. I would recommend LeeDroid 2.0.
I found that Warm TwoPointThree (link in my signature) does pretty well and that's what I use, but I do think Infected Eternity had better battery life. I still use Warm though because I like the ROM better and the difference isn't that noticable.
Additionally, if you don't really mind going AOSP, Cyanogenmod 7 (in the development thread) has the best battery life of all.

Markdexter has the GSM Evo 3D, which isn't compatible with Sprint ROMs.
Amazing rom
Great rom but what is the CS Engine UI for?
I am currently using ViperRom RC Test 4 with lock screen fix and this is the first time i have ever gotten 15h 21m 16s on the standard EVO 3D battery. I am a heavy user but didn't use like i normally do since i was home yesterday.

I went from Eternity to warm and i went from 9-12 hours(stock battery) & 20-28 hours(3500 mAh Trexcell battery) to 5(Stock battery) & 10 hours(3500 mAh). That's notable to me. I went back to Eternity this morning after i noticed the battery and warm started these errors.
FC bugs everywhere, then soft boots, and eventurally stuck at boot screen.
I'm a loving the Ava modified V1.
My stats below for usage. I only seek battery life and man I love it.
Cheers

that's interesting because I thought Warm was just ok for battery life..and infected eternity drained my battery faster than anything. Maybe I didn't give either enough time. I like Infected better but that is why I switched.
if ur getting that kind of battery life its worth trying out. ^^^^^^^^ I read the OP Dev has not answered in a while. What kernel do u have installed in ur set up 2 get those kind of stats? I don't want a faster phone i want good battery life.
Not sure what ROM. Currently installed Olympus Trinity XE Prime. It runs good and battery worked pretty well even though there were only six hours left of my day before I went bed.
Can you be more specific about what exactly you're looking to do and how you use your phone. I personally use my phone a lot for the heavy texting, web browsing (not on 4G don't have Sprint 4G here but somehow in the surrounding towns and Boston), an occasional phone call. I also have a twitter account syncing every hour, a facebook account syncing every hour, and push gmail. Heck I even use a live wallpaper and still get good battery life as well as 25% screen brightness.
One tip I can offer is if you don't use stuff like picasa web albums, constantly add new contacts, or use google calender, you can go into settings>accounts and sync>gmail and uncheck sync contacts, sync calender, etc except for sync gmail. Even in the twitter and facebook apps, if you don't like to integrate contacts you can uncheck syn c contacts for both. Those things seem to extend battery life as your phone isn't constantly syncing things you don't need.
I forgot to leave out I leave my 4G off on my stats cause I have zero towers in my area. Its kind of crazy sprint is dropping 4G handsets in 2012. Just read that earlier today.

I believe the opposite. As i stated before Warm cut my battery life so much compared to eternity. Did you try flashing the ext4 tweaks because it is a performance and battery help.

is anyone else bothered that the evo 4g lte doesnt have a removable batter?
i mean.. my past 3 phones ive kept 2-3 spare batteries at all times but i don't want to be restricted to being by a wall constantly..
what about you?
p.s. i just upgraded to the evo 3d so i won't be getting the evo 4g lte for a bit (i love my evo)

The EVO 3D is a great phone, it's just the camera which limits the developers and the amount of work that they can do, chances are when ICS is released they will kick in to gear and we should see some great rom's, a lot of decent developers have made roms for the EVO 3D but have dropped out due to it's development limitations, hopefully they'll come back once HTC pull their fingers out.
I'm GSM by the way so we won't be getting the EVO LTE, but then again, it's come out when the One X has too so i think it would have been a bit anticlimatic for anyone looking to buy it anyway.
So long as they do release ICS in due course, the EVO 3D should have quite a bit of life left in it, it's a powerful device and does deserve some attention.

I'd probably wait for some real world tests before making that judgement. I'll be getting the EVO 4G LTE regardless... but 24+ hours would be nice.
I would get over 24+ hours on my EVO 3D but damn words with friends sucks up too much juice haha.
Doesn't bother me for 2 personal reasons.
1. I'm sick of this Evo 3D (I'm just done,nothing major)
2. I drive all day so a cigarette lighter charger is with in 2 feet from me all day.
I'm counting the days till the new Evo drops.Just wish I knew exactly when that was.

Not seeing how you're bothered, having JUST upgraded to the 3D. The EVO 4G LTE is a non-factor for you unless you're "that-guy".
Me: Not bothered (yet), I haven't used a huge battery (3200mAh) since the EVO 4G or removed my battery since I figured out the 3 button combo on my 3D.
The battery life better be decent, I need to get 8 hours of decent use & even moreso of it just sitting idle.

The extra ~200 mah over the 3D doesn't seem to be much....I would expect nearly the same battery life as the 3D.

ICS ROM with best battery life

I was just wondering based on everyone's experience (especially those who have tried many different ROMs). Can you also mention how many ROMs you've tried?
I used to use stock ICS with all T-Mo bloatware and battery life is just horrible. Now, that I've rooted and use Fast Amaze ROM without all the bloatware and I can see a much better battery life. So, I am just wondering what would be the ROM you'd recommend that has the best battery life...
Thank you for the helps

I say make your own "rom". Learn what it is that devs do, use trial and error to figure out what tweaks make a real difference(read a roms tweaks, do research into how to make those changes).. remove bloat, modify the build.prop.. the best rom is the one you build yourself. And you learn a lot more too.
But that is just my opinion.

we all know that the battery life is crap on the amaze. It's no surprise. What I've been wondering since is why? why is it such a battery hog. In terms of CPU and ram, it's only slightly higher than the sensation and the sensation has a great battery life. I know the sensation and Amaze are completely different phones and hardware is completely different, but what makes the amaze have such a bad battery life? anyone ever able to figure this out?

I was getting around 2.5 hours of SOT, after rooting, getting TB, Greenify, I can finally pass 4 hours of SOT. With 3G all day, sync work and personal mail.
ARHD Sense
I have had great experience with ARHD Sense and stock kernel, around 16 hrs of normal usage. :good:

Greenify
android revolution hd especially with power saver on it will last me all day even under heavy use. Also make sure you download greenify you can install any rom but if you have all these apps running in the background and wakelocks you're screwed.
