[Rom][Cdma] Koa Rom (Cm9) (7/6/2012) - Motorola Droid RAZR

KOA ROM
KOA (KOH-AH) IS THE HAWAIIAN WORD FOR "SOLDIER"Built from CM9 Source Thanks to DHacker, Hashcode, DroidTh3ory, Google, Android, Cyanogen, AOSP
for making all of this possible!
IF YOU INSTALL THIS ROM WITH BOOTSTRAP, DO NOT COMPLAIN ABOUT STUFF NOT WORKING. SAFESTRAP2.0 IS A REQUIREMENT FOR A REASON.
Personal Thanks:
I would personally like to thank the following people in no particular order:
andlaw: for being an awesome dev and making me want to get back in the game
Van: for bringing smiles to my face when I was stressed out, even after all he's been through.
Matt: for his knowledge and insight, and for being a moving force.
Alex, Russ, Gerland, Aaron and DemoManMLS: for being my testers for the last 5 or 6 days and not being mad about having to wipe data every time lol. Thanks Guys! Would also like to thank all the other developers here. Arcanexvi, DDX, Nitro, EmericanX and anyone else. If I forgot to add your name, it's not personal. There are just so many great devs here and it's hard to remember all your names lol.
If you would like to donate to me, please send me a PM with your email address and how much you would like to donate. It's NOT needed but greatly appreciated. At least click the like button please? By donating, you get the following perks:
1. Download links PM'd to you before they're posted
2. A chance to test any ROMs or Themes that need testing
3. Your name added to every OP as a "contributor."

If for some reason you lose data. You will need to open the included "Phone Info" app and toggle your data back. To do that, follow these steps:
1. Open the app and select "Phone Information"
2. Scroll to where you see "Set Preferred Network Type" and change this setting to "GSM Only"
3. Wait for 3G or 4G to kick back in
4. Once data kicks back in, toggle back to "LTE/CDMA/EvDo/GSM/WCDMA"
=======================================================================
Wifi Tether Settings:
In order to get the included Wifi Tether app working, you need to change the following settings:
If you have not been able to get wifi tether to work with the built-in app. Change these settings, and ONLY THESE SETTINGS!
Device Profile - Generic ICS
Setup Method - Auto
Channel - 11
Change LAN - 192.168.2.0/24
WiFi-driver reload - Checked
Routing Fix - Checked
Quick Fix: Use FoxFi
============================================================================
TEXT MESSAGES FROM VERIZON:
If you get the text messages from Verizon (6250 or whatever). This is how you get rid of that. Login to your Verizon Wireless account. Towards the top, mouse over where it says "My Verizon" and look under "My Plans and Services" and click on "Change Features." Select your phone or the phone that is getting the messages. Now when the next page comes up, look for "Cloud Storage and Sync" and remove the Email Sync option. It's free and will not change your billing. There you go, no more texts
=============================================================================
To fix wifi connection issues:
System Settings > Wifi (word not the button)
While trying to connect to a network, press and hold on the name of the connection and click on "Modify Network'
Check the box that says "Show advanced options"
For "IP Settings" change from DHCP to Static
Fill in ALL the text fields, click save. Forget Network, then reconnect.

Great work, anything for GSM to in the future? :good:

Doubtful for GSM but you "may" be able to use the GSM patch that is posted here somewhere. I'm not 100% sure on that though. Thanks!

That GSM Patch is based on GB, don't use it!
Till now there's NO GSM-Patch working on ICS.

Stupid question, but I need to ask....Does this (or ANY) ROM allow led light to blink while screen is ON? All CM based ROMs did on my OG Droid.
It is needed when screen is docked (on....using clock app. .. or watching full screen videos....)
Please don't flame me, if I need to further detail why I want/need this I will. (Everyone asks why a sane person needs led lights while screen is ON....they ask why not use notification bar... Short answer: No notification bar when in full screen....).
Light flow allows color customization (although I haven't gotten this to work in ICS....) but not while screen is ON.
Suggestions? Advise? Help?
Thanks!

That feature has been disabled in stock ICS.

Thank you for the reply...Are there any ROMs that do allow it? Doesn't need to be stock...

Does this have the thermal screen protection in it? First time i noticed it was on the Artic when my phone overheated with GPS on today?
How do you get the icons that are not included?
Going to try this anyway as soon as my battery is juiced up

Installed this ROM today and so far, it's great! :good:
I see when I place it in the car dock it indicates it's active, but it does not show up. Should it? If not, anyone know where I can find the APK? I do a fair amount of driving and really like this GUI while I drive. I really liked the ICS improvements.

I may/may not continue to update this ROM but is welcome for opinions and pinpoint of any errors or in which line of code that I can improve. Some of the features such as trackball unlock, hangup, alert are not implemented because I am not using these features, thanks for accepting these.
I am trying different kernels everyday and let's try out which one is best to you. Of course, this ROM is compatible with most of the kernels including stock / pershoot / wildmonk's etc...

Always nice to see new people building from source! Good job!
Sounds good. BTW, thanks for the mention
Mmmmhh.. No Flash Player in the market :/
Trackball alert support please
Ok, I tried out your rom. Multiple attempts to install.
I get - first off a choice of if I want to use the wizard or not, and that seems wrong.
Then I use the wizard once, it crashes to the beginning, I use it again and it FC's.
After that I cannot get on my network, I do a network search, find ATT and select it but never connect.
I have tried every way I can think of to make it connect to ATT but it will not.
Thanks for the attempt at the ROM, but I had to uninstall it.

Well, I have tried myself to wipe data (all) when installing the ROM and it is OK.
But most of the case, you do not need to wipe data. Just wipe cache + dalvik-cache, you should not be seeing the wizard.
BTW, can you PM me the logcat and which radio version you are using? Thanks.
**Update: I have just wipe data + cache + dalvik-cache and re-install the ROM -> can go through the wizard without any FC. For network problem, is that you do not type in a correct APN?
great rom thanks
we need more roms like this one, thanx and hope you keep up the work....

I will release version 1.1 Beta within few hours later.
It would include:
- A more complete build.prop
- A more complete apns-conf.xml APN list
- A revised hosts file
- Default kernel changed to Wildmonk's 2.6.35_SVS-950mV_CFS_AXI_NoAB_No720p_1113MHz_081910.zip
I am thinking of whether to include a few ICON replacements for the stock browser, calculator, calendar, clock and messaging. Icons are from crystal project in which they are under GNU public license.
Any ideas?

Apologies I did not log in till just now. I have installed InnovationOS so I don't have my log cat. However if you find it critical I can go through the install again and get it for you.
As far as APN. I have to admit not editing it. I did search for the network, it found ATT and I told it to select it. It would register but never get edge or 3G.
I do commend you. It's a great build idea. Check out Liquid Froyo on the droid. They are making slim lean and mean droid builds. I would love for that on my N1
Let me know if you want that log cat. It may take a day.

This is based on the 3.0.1.A.0.145 UK firmware since it currently is the only one that works with the R800x still allowing service. Instructions
1. Backup

3. Download DoomLord's DoomKernel v3 found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=15805471&postcount=2

4. Download my zip file, save to root of SD card, and install via CW recovery. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/35097081/R800x_UK_15NOV.zip
5. Now flash the kernel via fastboot and enjoy.
Note: If coming from Verizon stock firmware, dial *#*#4636#*#* and change preferred network type to CDMA auto instead of GSM/CDMA auto.
Thanks
Many thanks to DoomLord for awesome kernels, Zerojay for his update script, and Chevyowner for his CDMA patch.
Bugs
1. Contacts shortcut defaults to import contacts screen even after selecting to not show again.
FIX-access contacts from phone.
2. Setup Guide returns on reboot.
FIX-replaced SEMCSetupWizard with VZWSetupWizard
3. Incoming call glitch.
FIX-WIP.
Changelog
07NOV2011 - Posted.
12NOV2011 - Deleted some bloatware, added Bravia Engine and Swype, modified Mms.apk, removed SEMCSetupWizard and replaced w/ VZWSetupWizard, zipaligned and optimized apks.
15NOV2011 - Removed Swype - install from beta.swype.com, removed init.d scripts and moved scripts to /system/bin which works with standard DoomKernel v3.
I think you stated everything works in this version. Are there any known bugs? I will flash this today and test it out.

Yes everything works. I will edit the first post to reflect that. The only known bug I have found is the Contacts screen always defaults to the initial screen for importing contacts so I just replaced that shortcut from the dock and go to contacts from the phone shortcut.
Awesome! I've been hoping for a stock rom that could be overclocked for the R800x for some time now

Yes. I had already looked into that. I can make another zip including it with a black background and white text or would a dark blue similar to the settings background be better?

Thanks 007. I've spent all morning messing with the feature, and it looks like it isn't running any of the startup scripts in the /etc/init.d folder. It certainly isn't running the mount scripts. I await your wizardry with baited breath.

The black background with white text is what I'm used to, but the blue sounds interesting. Any way you could upload a .zip for each one. By .zip you mean a small .zip to flash through CWM, right?

I'll make one of each and yes, it will be a CWM zip that will only replace the mms.apk.

Thanks 007. I've spent all morning messing with the feature, and it looks like it isn't running any of the startup scripts in the /etc/init.d folder. It certainly isn't running the mount scripts. I await your wizardry with baited breath.

I remember seeing in DoomLord's thread where he made changes in the kernel for
4.0.A.2.368 that gave better init.d support.
NM, had the wrong CDMA mode selected.
Is there a safe to remove apps list? Seeing the chinesetextinput.apk at 8MB is disturbing to me. Haha.
After playing with this for a while I think the only other bug would be the incoming call slider being cut off for some reason. Other than that this ROM runs great and everything works.
Do u need an unlock bootloader to flash this?

The .368 kernel didnt work with this firmware, I tried it and did not have camera. The v3 .145 kernel posted here seems to have something different to it because no matter where I put busybox or how I edit scripts the dalvik2cache mod never works. Ive tried using both the dalvik hack zip and Dooms dalvik mod zip and neither work. Same results with the .145 kernel on stock verizon firmware.
I also tried running the insecure adb .apk even though the kernel is already insecure, still no luck. No support on the problem from doom either.
I flashed back to stock kernel and the dalvik mod works fine with this firmware so its def. the kernel. Just cant seem to figure it out!
Does the manual process through ADB not work with v3 either? Would rather be sitting at 140MB free instead of 71MB. Haha.
Also is there any way to get Wireless Tether for Root Users to work? I tried setting to Nexus One, and it keeps popping up that hotspot is active, and won't allow anything to connect.

I actually had the built in wireless tether work for me without using an app or sending me to the verizon page.
Try the new alternate kernel I posted for the init.d script problems and let me know if it works.
I'll have to test after work. I'll let you know how it goes.
Also, separate question: Doomkernel v3 is supposed to have a whole host of cpu governors, but my setcpu only shows conservative, ondemand, userspace, powersave, and performance. No Smartass, interactive, or any of the other frills that are supposedly in his v3 kernel. Do you guys have the missing governors, and am I just stupid or something?
I will test it out. Just to be sure, this is a test to get the dalvik hack working, or are any other tweaks involved?
Also how do I get into CWM with this kernel? I can't seem to get in there either through hitting the back button, volume rocker while booting. I also can't seem to get into it by rebooting into it through Rom Toolbox, I ended up having to boot off recoveryplay.img.
I have 197MB free up from 57!
You have to spam the back button to get into recovery while it boots. I start spamming as soon as "sony ericcson" shows on screen. If you wait until you get the SE animated boot logo, you're too late.

=======================================================================
Wifi Tether Settings:
In order to get the included Wifi Tether app working, you need to change the following settings:
If you have not been able to get wifi tether to work with the built-in app. Change these settings, and ONLY THESE SETTINGS!
Device Profile - Generic ICS
Setup Method - Auto
Channel - 11
Change LAN - 192.168.2.0/24
WiFi-driver reload - Checked
Routing Fix - Checked
Quick Fix: Use FoxFi
============================================================================
=============================================================================
Forget Network, then reconnect.

spc_hicks09 didn't disable or remove anything. Most ROM developers take the CM9 or AOKP bases that dhacker29 made and apply their own tweaks, which is what hicks did here.

Thank you....the only reason I would use a ROM is for this feature. Any way to get an older version? ICS is fine for what it does. I customized much OG Droid so much, but in the end, it kept giving me issues with actual calls. (Would freeze so I couldn't answer it....texts wouldn't send or receive ...) Apps always worked, but I needed the phone to be reliable as a "phone"....
I guess I will use tablet for full screen stuff and music....I really want this feature back....

This rom is a try to provide a rom with less battery drain. Most roms are coming without real battery saving tweaks. So we created our own rom with lots of special tweaks. Some tweaks are based on already existing ones, but we wrote most of them ourself to get the most out of the Razr battery.
- STOCK-Kernel-Version -
ATTENTION: We have released untested CDMA-Version! If anyone here with a CDMA device wants to test, please provide some feedback. Thx!
Changelog 3.0.2
- Camera picture quality improved
- Overall Performance improved
- New themed Play Store (no more blue)
New Tweaks:
- V6-Supercharger integrated
- Performance switch modes included:

NEWS:
You can flash D-WiZ now directly to your Stock Slot (BMM ONLY for now).
NOTE: Just to be safe, when Aroma finished the installation DON'T reboot!! Untick the box "Reboot device" and click "Finish". Then go back to the main menu, got to "System Keeper" and select "Install Bootmenu to Stock Slot"!!!
D-WiZ is now available with AROMA Installer! Only for use with Bootmenu Manager 0.3.2
A tutorial for BMM is below!
There are several reasons to switch to BMM 0.3.2:
Much more tweaks - On virtual slots (e.g. SS3 Rom Slots, BMM System 3-6) some tweaks are causing bootloops and freezes
Better battery life
Better performance
Faster boot process
Aroma Installer
Because of that D-WiZ is now available in two different versions: One for Safestrap 3 and one for Bootmenu 0.3.2. The SS3-Version is kind of a "lite-version" because I had to remove several tweaks (were causing lots of issues).
The BMM-Version includes all tweaks, mods and advantages of D-WiZ, but please note that this version will only run on non-virtual slots!
There are several Patches and Add-Ons available in UpdateMe! You can find UpdateMe in the App Drawer.
The current version 2.0.3 can cause Bootloops on some devices. If you have that issue, please reboot (2-3 times) until it boots up completely, then open UpdateMe in the App drawer and download the D-WiZ-Init-Patch from Patches section. Flash it in recovery!
NOTE: If you are using the Undervolt-Patch: The voltage values will be overwritten by the Inid-Patch! You have to flash the Undervolt-Patch again after applying the init-Patch!
D-WiZ is undervolted by default. But you can set lower values for more undervolting. Just download the Undervolt-Patch from UpdateMe patches section and flash it in recovery.
NOTE: The values from the Undervolt-Patch values can be too low for some devices and causing crashes and freezes! If you get problems after flashing the Undervolt-Patch, just flash the Init-Patch to reset the undervolt settings. Now you can edit the 70uvoltc file inside the Undervolt-Patch zip Archive and try it out until you find good settings for your device.
The 70uvoltc file inlcudes some line which looks like the following:
0 100 825 > /proc/cpu_control/tweak_cpu
1 200 850 > /proc/cpu_control/tweak_cpu
2 300 875 > /proc/cpu_control/tweak_cpu
3 400 900 > /proc/cpu_control/tweak_cpu
4 600 950 > /proc/cpu_control/tweak_cpu
5 800 1000 > /proc/cpu_control/tweak_cpu
6 1000 1088 > /proc/cpu_control/tweak_cpu
Click to collapse
The red numbers are voltage values in mV. Just play around with +25 mV (or +50 mV) and test it. When it works without freezes or crashes you are good to go.

How to use Bootmenu Manager 0.3.0f
Download BMM 0.3.2 from Google Play.
.
Download D-WiZ_3.0.1_AROMA_XT910.zip
.
Boot into your Main Rom /Stock Rom
Open Safestrap 3 App and tick "uninstall recovery" <--- If you were using SS3
Unpack the BMM package on your computer
Plug in your device (USB with Debugging enabled)
Run the install.bat from BMM folder
Note: If there are displayed some errors while installation, doesn't matter. Just reboot and if you see BMM, it's ok. But if there is no BMM splash screen you have to install BMM again like described above (you may rstart the adb server before to prevent error)
Now you have to prepare your rom slots:
Reboot and when the BMM screen appears, tick "Settings".
Now Select a slot you want to use, open "Boot Mode" and untick: "2nd-Boot" and "Kexec".
.
If you want to use rom slot 2, please follow the instructions at the end of this quote (How to protect your 2nd Slot Cache)!
.
If you want to use the rom on your stock slot:
If you are coming from another rom, please perform a full wipe, wipe dalvik cache and formant system (in "mounts & format")
flash it directly to stock slot!
NOTE: Just to be safe, when Aroma finished the installation DON'T reboot!! Untick the box "Reboot device" and click "Finish". Then go back to the main menu, got to "System Keeper" and select "Install Bootmenu to Stock Slot"!!![/B]
Continue here when you want to use another Slot (Slot 3-6):
Go back and open "Partition Setup".
Create the slots (System, Datam Cache) with your preferred sizes.
Now go back to boot screen and select recovery.
In recovery switch to your created slot (under Recovery Switch)
Now flash the rom (as usual: "Install zip...") and enjoy AROMA
Now it reboots, hold on in splash screen (select settings or sth like that)
Now you have several options:
You can boot into the slot where you installed the rom.
NOTE: There can be bootloops for some reason only after first installation (still have to figure that out) so I would recommend you to use the rom on Stock or second slot.
To set the default slot to boot, boot into rom, open /system/etc/bmm with root browser and edit "bootmenu.prop":
#bootmenu
default=1 <--- Number for your rom slot!
Click to collapse
How to protect your 2nd Slot Cache (otherwise it doesn't boot after first time boot)
Reboot into recovery
Switch to slot 2
Flash the rom
Download this: Aromafs-1.80.zip
Plug in the device and select in recovery. "Advanced Options" --> "Mount as USB storage"
Rename the file to "Aromafm.zip" and place it on your internal storage in: /clockworkmod/
Plug off the device
Select "Filemanager"
Now press Menu button in right lower corner
Select "Open Console"
type in the following
Code:
tune2fs -O extents,uninit_bg,dir_index /dev/block/system
e2fsck -fDC0 /dev/block/system
Now you are ready to go with Slot 2!
Please try around and report issues here!

Llama-Profiles:
Here are Instrucions how to use Llama: http://kebabapps.blogspot.de/p/llama-handling-guide-instructions.html
Download Zip File: KLICK
Extract it and copy its content (the folder) to your EXTERNAL SD-Card.
Open up the Llama-App and press the "Menu-Button".
Select "Import/Export Data" and choose "IMPORT from SD-Card".
The profiles are now activated
Now you have to select your home Area on the LEFT tab. Press and hold on "Home" and select the option to detect your home location (some minutes should be enough)
Last thing is to select you home Wifi. Press the menu button and select settings (or options, dunno how its in English). Scroll down to experimental stuff, then choose check for Wifi Networks". Go back into Llama menu and select tab "Recent", search for you Wifi Network and press and hold it, now choose "Add to area" and select home.
IMPORTANT: Now go back into experimental stuff settings and DEACTIVATE the search for Wifi Networks option!
There are some "sync-Rules" in the Llama Profiles, they are experimental (background data sync on for 1 minute everx 20 minutes). Just deactivate or delete them if not needed (maybe they are causing partial wakelocks). But before you delete them, just have a look into them, so you'll see how complex this app can be customized!
Llama is now configured and active! Now you can add your own rules if you want.
Llama is VERY powerful! Have a look into its options and you'll find an option called "Llama Variables". They can be set to whatever you want. So there are very very complex rules possible! If configured the right way, Llama can also help saving battery a lot! Take you some time to learn how it works.
CAUTION: The profiles are made on a German device!! That means for any users from different countries, you must rename the area names in EVERY rule to your areas location names, or you rename your location areas to German: home = "zuhause", etc.., just look for the names inside the rules.

If you are updating from prior D-WiZ version, usually just flash the zip WITHOUT ANY wipe - except for update from < 1.0.5, there you MUST perform a full system & data wipe!!
If you are using BMM check the how-to on the top of this post!
For non-EU users (if you notice battery drain or weird behavior with the rom:
If you notice battery drain or another issue do the following:
1. Download one of these kernels (try them and decide which one is the best for you):
Kernel 9th June
Kernel ICS latest
Place the kernel on your SD-Card
2. Now boot into Bootmenu recovery
3. Select "Firmware Falshing"
3. Select "Backup CID" and confirm with "Yes"
4. Select "Erase CID" and confirm with "Yes"
5. Now select "Backup Kernel"
5. Select "Flash Kernel (boot.img...)", select the boot.img file which you've saved on your sd-card before and confirm with "Yes".
6. If you haven't flashed the Rom yet, do it!
7. Reboot into D-WiZ Rom and enjoy!!
NOTE: If you want flash back your LATAM Kernel for any reason, go to recovery, select "Firmware Flashing" and "Restore CID" (You will find your backed up CID in /sdcard(-ext)/clockworkmod/Firmware/...". You will also find your backed up kernel in that folder!
This rom runs best when you DON'T change any CPU-related settings!
Please DON'T change any kernel parameters if you are not familiar with this stuff!
NOTE: after the each reboot all CPU settings will be restored to default (NOT Kernel- and other Tweaks!)
Sometimes the kernel sets the CPU to 300 min. If you should notice that, just let it be, the rom will set it back to 100 after some minutes. Also ALL frequencies are undervolted, so it won't eat much battery anyway.

Flashing! Interesting idea to make a ROM battery friendly. I have tested a lot of apps and tweaks to save some juice in my RAZR and I'd like to see your ROM in action.
sounds really good.. maybe try it sometime soon!

I suggest you to use BM 0.2.8 beta 2 (or 0.2.9a maybe, but 028 beta 2 should work). But if you want to get sure that everything works well you should use Safestrap 3 because I made this rom for use with it.
btw: SS3 is awesome!

I have already 2 systems on my phone. Is there an easy way to go from BMM to SS3 without changing first system? Never tried SS3 before.
And if I install 0.2.8 beta 2, do I still need to convert the rom? What are the steps after that? Wipe data, cache, dalvik and then install?
Thanks for your fast reply, hope I didn't put too many questions and may the force be with you
The force is with me all the time! lol
With BM beta 2 you have to convert but without selecting extra options. With BM 0.2.9 you don't have to convert, but better have a look into its thread to get the right information.
If you switch to SS3 your main system will stay. Your 2. system will be gone. But instead of that you can have 4 Systems (+ Main System = 5 Systems). In SS3 you are able to create "Rom-Slots". These slots can be created with custom space (for example: One slot with 3gb of data for daily use, one test Slot with 1gb of data for testing purposes). The Rom slots are located on your INTERNAL storage and App data is located on EXTERNAL storage (so you need an extra SD-Card, if you don't own one, you can keep your internal sotrage as app data storage using a small hack). And make sure you have some space left on internal storage.
SS3 is kinda easy to use. Once installed you will understand it for sure. But be sure that you remove BM completely from your device PRIOR installing SS3. An uninstaller for BM can be found inside the BM app. For further information check the SS3 thread.
I love it dtrail
Thanks

The data issue is related to your phone location. On EU devices data works fine.
Most of these issues you listed are related to CNA. So probably I am not able to fix them.
It was and still is hard work for me. So be patient. Thx.

If you bring me non-translated XML, i will translate it into russian.
Which camera app is in this rom? Motorola one or the Jelly Bean without flashlight and FullHD recording?
As to the battery Here are my screenshots...
It doesn't matter which camera app is used - hd video recording and flash won't work anyway. This is a kernel / driver related problem.
You own a Maxx or normal?
Btw: the rom also needs some time to settle in after installing. Give it 5-7 days to normalize its battery consumption.

If you need flash then ZoomCamera is able to make pictures with flash - just select Torch mode for flash and the pictures will be taken with flash.

Workarounds
To mount internal/external storage automatically at boot:
Install latest revision.
Go to Play Store and install SManager.
Open SManager, and choose the "browse as root" option.
Navigate to /system/etc (this may require pressing the up arrow a few times to get to the root directory)
Find the file "init.cptb.mount_sd.sh" and press it to select it.
In the box that pops up, make sure "run as script" is selected.
Press the button for "Su" to enable the script to run as root.
Press the button for "Boot" to enable the script to run after the system boots.
Look for the option to save those settings (should be at the top of the window) and press it.
Press the exit button to exit.
Manually reboot the device.
Profit.
To install purchased apps from the Play Store:
Install Xposed Framework.
Install MoDaCo Toolkit.
Choose option in Toolkit (under System) to "Disable Forward Lock"
FAQ
Q: Why doesn't my BlinkFeed show any pictures?
A: Because internal storage has to be mounted for it to do so. Complete the storage workaround mentioned above, reboot, and you should have pictures on BlinkFeed.
Q: Why can't I move apps to SD card/save video highlights/do anything else remotely related to storage?
A: Because storage card isn't getting mounted automatically, the permissions for apps to write to it are messed up. Once storage is working properly, so will all of these things.
Q: Why is my LTE data keep disconnecting and my signal bars not changing?
A: Because this is a WIP port from a GSM device. The signal bars are likely due to some hex edits that need to be made, but that is tedious and painstaking work. Feel free to jump in and help.
Q: Why doesn't camera work?
A: Because this is a WIP port from a device with different camera hardware. Also, because you haven't fixed it yet .
Q: Are there any mods I can install for this ROM?
A: I have had some success with some Xposed Mods, including Sense 5 Toolbox and Xposed Statusbar Mods. BUT BE CAREFUL! BACKUP FIRST! Any incompatible mods could bork the ROM.
Refreshing the page constantly....waiting to download...
Edit: Downloading now!!!!! I was on my way to bed, but so much for that!

After some testing, I want to share my findings.
When you first boot the Rom:
You might want to change the keyboard settings to QWERTY, since it's set to QWERTZ by default, unless you like it that way.
3G/4G connection:
It is quite buggy. It will connect to the 4g network, but only briefly, then it loses all connection. I also was not able to actually use the data while it was connected, either. It was not until I parked at work this morning did I see a stable 3g connection, as there is no 4g at my job as of yet.
Inaccurate signal readings and/or Statusbar:
Clearly you can see from the screenshot that I have no signal (which I never have at work), but my statusbar says otherwise. I'm working on checking the cause of this, or how to remedy it (externally, because I don't know anything about the internal coding...I leave that up to the devs). I used SignalCheck Lite from the play store to check.
Storage mount:
I found a simple fix to mount the internal! Find an app from the play store that allows you to Hot Restart/Soft Reboot. <---Same thing, for those who do not know.
Side notes about storage:
1) I learned by installing the Xposed Framework, and hot rebooting to set the changes. The framework didn't work, but I noticed that my storage had mounted when I entered TB to boot into recovery.
EDIT:
I downloaded the latest version of Xposed, and it works.
2) You don't need the internal to be mounted to install apps that are uploaded to Dropbox or Google Drive. They use temp folders, unlike downloading from browsers (which need the internal). I uploaded Xposed from another device, and installed it from Drive.
3) You cannot take any screenshots without mounting the internal. (Duh, where would it save?)
I was able to play music from my internal sd, and I was able to see my pics loaded in the internal.
Important: A full reboot breaks the mount, but another hot reboot fixes it. I haven't found a way to mount the external sd, but in the storage settings, it definitely knows that it's there, because it reads correctly.
Weird behavior of storage:
After a full reboot to break the storage, and a soft reboot to restore it, the music players would no longer recognize the music on the phone. But when I used a file explorer to navigate to the location, the files were there, and I was able to play them one by one.
After an unspecified amount of time, it began recognizing the music again. Not sure why.
Side note:
1) While having issues with the media storage (what if I wipe it....hmmm.....), the gallery always displayed pictures while the internal was mounted.
EDIT @ 8:16a EST:
So after being booted for approx. 2hrs straight, my ext sd is now being read. It doesn't appear in TB, but it certainly shows up in file managers. All of my music & all of my pictures are here. The only thing that I changed was the removal of the bloatware & the Google Apps that are available on the Play Store. It cleared some /system space, and now everything is being read. Strange....
Blinkfeed:
FIrst off, to use Blinkfeed, you must go to Settings-->Personalize-->Home Screen Style, and select Blinkfeed. The traditional style allows 7 screens max, just like before.
Secondly, and more importantly to know, Blinkfeed doesn't display pictures without the internal being mounted.
Camera:
Yeah....right. Not going there. Nothing that I can contribute. Just know that it doesn't work...for now.
Other:
When the phone first started reading my external, the ext_sd folder was empty, but now it is beginning to read everything as normal. It seems like time is the greatest factor here. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe it's the mount speeds. Who knows.
The zip file attached works. It works in any rom, actually, AOSP and Sense alike. It was found from the Stock With Goodies thread. You can also flash any of OMJ's mod packs, for this option is in all of them.
Those are my findings so far.
