What's the difference is AOKP vs CM9?

Your older version did this, according to many users. Why was function deleted?

spc_hicks09 didn't disable or remove anything. Most ROM developers take the CM9 or AOKP bases that dhacker29 made and apply their own tweaks, which is what hicks did here.

Thank you....the only reason I would use a ROM is for this feature. Any way to get an older version? ICS is fine for what it does. I customized much OG Droid so much, but in the end, it kept giving me issues with actual calls. (Would freeze so I couldn't answer it....texts wouldn't send or receive ...) Apps always worked, but I needed the phone to be reliable as a "phone"....
I guess I will use tablet for full screen stuff and music....I really want this feature back....

Doubtful for GSM but you "may" be able to use the GSM patch that is posted here somewhere. I'm not 100% sure on that though. Thanks!
That GSM Patch is based on GB, don't use it!
Till now there's NO GSM-Patch working on ICS.

Stupid question, but I need to ask....Does this (or ANY) ROM allow led light to blink while screen is ON? All CM based ROMs did on my OG Droid.
It is needed when screen is docked (on....using clock app. .. or watching full screen videos....)
Please don't flame me, if I need to further detail why I want/need this I will. (Everyone asks why a sane person needs led lights while screen is ON....they ask why not use notification bar... Short answer: No notification bar when in full screen....).
Light flow allows color customization (although I haven't gotten this to work in ICS....) but not while screen is ON.
Suggestions? Advise? Help?
Thanks!

I see when I place it in the car dock it indicates it's active, but it does not show up. Should it? If not, anyone know where I can find the APK? I do a fair amount of driving and really like this GUI while I drive. I really liked the ICS improvements.

[MOD ROM] [DeBlur - DeBloat] Motorola Razr XT910 JB - Remove unnecessary sys apps

After the success of the list that clean all the bloatware that Motorola installs on the Razr XT910 on ICS, now here you have the list for Jelly Bean.

}
The main idea is to leave the Official Jelly Bean Stock ROM 4.1.2 (ver. 982.124.14.XT910.xxx.en.EU) as close as possible to the original Android provided by Google. The results after applying this tweaks are impressive in speed gain, battery saving and audio quality on calls.
Initially I have not deleted anything. What I have done is rooting the phone and freeze all the Motorola bloatware with the App "Quarantine Pro" (http://is.gd/vi2ADR) -You can use Titanium Backup Pro too-. Thus if you want to recover some feature of the unmodified original ROM (update via OTA , etc.), you could.
The advantage of applying this mod over an official ROM is that we will get results with all that entails in terms of stability and specific design for our hard but with the undeniable benefits of a custom ROM in terms of fluency, speed and battery saving.
Then I leave the (huge) list of garbage apps and services that can be freezed without stability problems or FC (I tested one by one) in a Motorola Razr XT910. The list is ordered as follows:
App name, service or process | Is it safe to freeze? | Package name | ODEX Name | Description
Check list of bloatware here:
Also I made 2 installable scripts (gthx to PeGaSo32a). This scripts automatically remove the bloatware of the list above through Recovery. Both scripts work perfect on the Jelly Bean 4.1.2 Stock Oficial (ver. 982.124.14.XT910.en.EU). They might work on other ROMs but it's not tested. It´s highly recommended to make a Nand Backup from Recovery to avoid unnecessary bricks.
[DeBlur - DeBloat] [Aggressive] It only maintains the proccess tagged as "Caution" in the bloatware list.
[DeBlur - DeBloat] [Moderate] Suitable for most users. It maintains Smart Actions, initial config, Swype keyboard (it removes the Motorola one), email syncronization and general use apps.
Steps to install the [DeBlur - DeBloat] scripts:
You must to be ROOT.
Save the file in your SD Card.
Charge the phone battery at least at 70% Reset your phone and enter in the Recovery mode.
Go to “Install zip from sdcard” option and select it.
Select “Choose zip from sdcard” option.
Go to the .zip file you saved before on your SD Card and select it.
Confirm the instalation by pressing “Yes — Install xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.zip”
When the install ends you must to do "Wipe Cache" and "Wipe Dalvik-Cache".
Select “Reboot system now”.
Congratulations, your phone is free of bloatware now.
It´s highly recommended to make a Nand Backup from Recovery to avoid unnecessary bricks.
After you test the MOD, please come back and give your feedbak in the poll above. Thanks for your colaboration.
Note: You can also use this list in any Motorola Android based phone. Motorola use (almost) the same name for its app and services.
Awesome mate, thank you so much ! Checking it out right now :good:
I have a razr xt910 too, and I'm using the ROM "Artmod v.3.1 ST", based on the official 982.124.14.xt910.Retail.en.AU
The aggresive script worked fine, I can notice the improvement (less lag, feels lighter). But I miss the Camera I will reinstall the same I had, I liked it.
Thanks a lot!!!!!

I have tested it on Razr XT910 with Bootmenu Manager with Official Jelly Bean Stock ROM 4.1.2 (ver. 982.124.14.XT910.xxx.en.EU) and everything works perfect. Wich Razr model and what ROM do you have? Do you perform both "Wipe Cache" and "Wipe Dalvik-Cache"?
[edit] it worked fine
Worked great !
System is so much smother and faster. Especially Camera and App-Drawer start faster. Thanks a lot :good:
Thanks! I deleted almost everything you suggested, except some things about functionality. I didn't know how to get rid of Motocast and now is completely deleted. A friend of mine uses Razr Maxx on ICS and me on JB. It seems he had more juice than me. I hope this will improve the battery.

Installed the moderate package and everything still working, didn't noticed much improvement cause I already had it tweaked but seems I have more memory free now, thanks.
One issue thou, why the package removed Quickoffice? Doesn't matter much cause I use Kingsoft Office, but I used Quickoffice when Kingsoft was being a retard with some files.

But I miss some apps like motocast, genie widget(news and weather),webtop mode etc.So I modified the script and removed some lines. But now I cannot install the zip package.I guess it is signed and it needs to be signed again.
Any suggestions?

But you can easily freeze them and unfreeze when you'll need.

You must to move the .apk files into the /system/app folder, instead of install them as common third party apps.
Will try soon

Can someone provide me the default Velvet.apk from this official ROM. It seems that deleting it and adding in system/app the updated version of Google Search corrupts the the voice recognition. Thanks!

You can download from the link below, but did you set the right permissions to the file you moved to /system/app? (rw-r--r--)

SEE POST #4 FOR CONTRIBUTOR AND TEST GROUP INFO
PLEASE BE AWARE-- THIS ROM IS NOT BASED ON OFFICIAL SAMSUNG FILES, IT IS BASED ON A RUNNING CM11 CYANOGENMOD SYSTEM.
AND WHILE THIS IS VERY GOOD, CM11 IS NOT 100% READY FOR OUR DEVICES, ALSO ANY SAMSUNG SPECIFIC FEATURES (MULTIWINDOW, PEN WINDOW, SHEALTH, ect) WILL NOT WORK (THOUGH I WILL ATTEMPT TO INCLUDE ALTERNATES), AND WHILE IT IS PRETTY STABLE, AT THIS TIME THERE WILL BE SOME MINOR BUGS. AS CM11 CHANGES THOSE WILL BE REDUCED. IF YOU NEED ABSOLUTE STABILITY AND EXCELLENT BATTERY LIFE PLEASE USE A TOUCHWIZ ROM BASED ON THE OFFICIAL mj4 UPDATE>
for a slightly better look at what touchwiz is vs what cm11 (aosp) is check out a few of these links.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48773400&postcount=2
http://www.androidauthority.com/touchwiz-better-than-stock-android-215634/
I AM NOT TRYING TO SAY cm11 ISNT VERY GOOD. I LIKE IT QUITE A BIT.
or i wouldnt have gone through the effort of making this.
just that touchwiz is more than the launcher it is actually a whole set of files built directly into the system specifically designed for our devices.
MANY of the apps that come stock on the note 3 rely on these files to function.
and no its not as easy as just copying them over to cm11 based roms.
CM11 is more of a vanilla android experience (with some mods)
PLEASE READ POST #3 CAREFULLY.
THE INSTALL PROCEDURE FOR THIS ROM MAY BE A BIT DIFFERENT THEN WHAT YOU'RE USED TO.

ROM OS Version: 4.4.x KitKat
Based On: Cyanogenmod , AOSP
Version Information
Status: Testing
Current Beta Version: 1.0
Beta Release Date: 2014-01-14
Created 2014-01-15
Last Updated 2014-01-15
NO KERNEL INCLUDED>
MUST INSTALL OVER A CM11 BASED BUILD
which will have the kernel and a full system this rom only changes and adds features for cm11 builds
STEP ONE:
install a cm11 build tested over this one here...
thank @noobnl for his hard work bringing us a working cm
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2599669
i used:NEW NEW NEW BUILD from that thread.
there is now an official build page for the note 3 cm builds here.
latest official builds can be found here
http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=hltespr
Reports are it also works very well with VANIR based roms
http://www.emccann.net/nuclearmistake/VanirAOSPNightlies/hltespr/
STEP TWO GET THIS FILE:
DOWNLOAD
VERSION 1.0 ALPHA SOME MINOR BUGS (CM11 is not 100% yet)
(if downloading from phone gives a bin file download with a pc, should be.zip)
INCLUDES ALL NECESSARY GAPPS AND OTHER NEEDED FILES!
Built on top of cm11 for multiple reasons, (my upload bandwith is horrible right now, cm11 is getting constant updates, this will make things easier on me at least until everything gets worked out) (should also work UNTESTED on other cm11 builds/roms for the sprint note 3)
Install instructions
FOR THIS VERSION AT THE MOMENT CWM RECOVERY IS NOT SUPPORTED
cwm lacks the fix permissions script needed to ensure certain data settings remain intact
future versions will improve on this, however for now use TWRP
Install notes for test version 1 (this will change dramatically with upcomming versions)
FIRST (ESPECIALLY IF COMING FROM 4.3)
wipe everything in recovery except internal and external sd
(wipe>advanced)
reboot into recovery (IMPORTANT)
then install from there.
install cm11 first
boot to system
This is an update add on to cm11 based roms
flash update reboot (to write data to system)
flash update again, fix permissions, (edits data after a boot)
reboot
(i have been working on a much improved install procedure that should ensure a one step install,
the reason for editing data is to pre-set some app settings
without having to edit individual apk files, this increases
compatibility and ensures things still work as intended as apps get updated)
open pie control give admin
open wanam press update install (to force admin)
will need to open a few other apps also will list as found
future versions should take care of this automagically.
can use hide apps to hide unwanted apps from the launcher (this will also be preset in the future)
i usually use it to hide all the wanam modules and not the xposed installer.
then use xposed installer , modules to edit settings as needed.
also can hide anything else you want to leave installed but not see.
these apps may need root enabled (just open and try and change something) should prompt..
Xposed installer
Pie control
startup manager (if wanted)
texdroider dpi (if wanted)
file manager
xhalo floating windows (wanam module)
app hider (to hide apps optional)
also there are some included themes under the settings menu themes.
ignore the warning and just press apply, (stock cm11, blackout, twstyle)
may also want to uncheck and recheck all the wanam modules and reboot after to be sure they all actually get set.
ADVANCED USERS/USERS WANTING TO USE THIS ON TOP OF ANOTHER CM11 BUILD
STILL READ ABOVE NOTES>
Dirty flash on top of any running cm11 system should be fine (unconfirmed)
NOT WIPING DATA SHOULD BE FINE ALSO IF YOU ARE ALREADY ON A 4.4 BUILD.
DO THIS:
flash update reboot (to write data to system)
flash update again, fix permissions, (edits data after a boot)
reboot

1. When will the next version be released?
Wrong question.
2. How do I install the rom?!
ViperMax Install Instructions
Download the the latest ViperOne full ROM zip from the download section
Place the file somewhere on your phone storage. Alternatively, if you have a USB OTG cable (I have this exact one), you can place the rom on a USB key (FAT32, NTFS are all supported).
Confirm the MD5 on the download page matches the MD5 of the file on your phone (ES File Explorer will show the MD5 of the file)
Reboot to TWRP Recovery
Backup current ROM if desired
Install ROM using TWRP and select wipe during aroma install if coming from another base
Reboot and Enjoy
If Aroma hangs up, reboot your recovery by holding vol-up and power until phone resets...then before it begins booting up, hold volume down, load into recovery and try again.
3. How do install OTA (Over-The-Air) updates?
Settings - About - Software updates
4. How do I restore my HEQS (Horizontal Enhanced Quick Settings)?
Try long pressing the date in the notification bar (Pressing the date for about 2 seconds will toggle between HEQS, Quick Launch bar and "nothing")
5. How do I make my device look like stock?
To disable some of the tweaks, do the following:
Disable HEQS (Horizontal Enhanced Quick Settings): Long press the date in the notification bar for about 2 seconds to toggle between modes until it's hidden
Disable Weather: Tweaks - Status Bar - Weather - Hide
Disable Header Text (cpu usage, etc.): Tweaks - Status Bar - Header - Information - Hide
Disable VEQS (Vertical Enhanced Quick Settings): Tweaks - Status Bar - Vertical quick settings - Disable
6. I have a problem with the ROM (FC, Boot Loop, apps closing automatically). How can I get my problem resolved?
First things first. Try wiping data and replicating the issue:
Rebooting into Recovery
Perform a Nandroid backup (of just Data if you wish)
Flash the ROM and select the option to "Wipe Data"
Try replicating the issue
If the problem persists, capture a logcat and send it to me.
To capture a logcat, If you have fastboot setup, you already have the drivers installed and probably already have adb.exe in the same folder as fastboot.exe:
Open the Command Prompt (run it as Administrator if UAC is enabled in Windows)
run adb logcat >c:\logcat.txt
To capture an FC, use the command adb shell "logcat | grep AndroidRuntime" >c:logcat.txt
Press Control-C to stop logging
Paste the contents of c:\logcat.txt into http://pastebin.com
Post the link here with the problem being experienced
If you still have the issue, check to see if it's been reported here and create a new incident if it already hasn't: http://venomroms.com/forums/project.php?projectid=14
7. Whats the md5 sum thing?
It ensures, that the rom is downloaded correctly and completly to avoid weird issues when installing/using the rom. Google for "md5 sum checker" and you should find what you need.
8. I found a theme or mod, will it work on this rom?
It's NOT recommended to use mod/themes that dont clearly state, that they are compatible with our rom. Thems/Mods always use framework files which will brake mods/stuff in our rom.
9. My question is not listed here, what to do?
Ensure you used the xda search, google and your brain before asking a question in the thread. If you cant find an answer yourself we will answer your question for sure! (-:
10. My media (pictures, music, etc.) is not listed in the Gallery/HTC Music/etc.
Try rescanning your SDCARD by using an app such as Media Scanner
11. What are the correct sizes for custom carrier logo?
Try 100x100
12. Developer mode is no longer listed in Settings. How do I enable it?
Go to Settings - About - Software information - More and click on the Build number 7 times. (For real! )
13. Insufficient storage error on app update/install in play store
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=38899557&postcount=1
14. Where can I find themes for this ROM, besides the HUB?
You can find themes and information on how to make your own here.
15. Themes from the HUB make my icons too large, why?
The One Max uses different dimension icons. Venom Themers will be updating statusbar themes to accomidate this change over the next couple of days.

1. Phone icon, like you said, add the htccontacts.apk from the 8th post.
2. Hide power saver icon.. I must have missed editing that apk.
3. I had removed the network toggles from the cdma (Verizon/sprint) rom and that transferred over to here.
4. The auto brightness slider bar was removed from 4.3 tweaks by Turge because he said it created issues.
5. I can't use the gsm kernel, so my Wifi doesn't work...hard to test what you can't use.
Edit: if I get time after my 12- hour shift tonight, I'll address any issues in an ota update. However, it's my birthday today, so I may be busy with family stuff after work. But if you find any bugs, post them here, and I'll address as soon as I can.

Sorry but I have to say....
Most of the devs providing core functionality and roms in the One Max forum are in the US and most of them have or will be getting Verizon One Max's. If we had our own forum (which I never advocated for because we are such a small group) the International forum would only be empty.
So everyone should please refrain from making comments like the above and lets all work together...

Thanks guys, and of course, this should go without saying...you must follow the instructions for the sense 5.0 roms and upgrade your firmware/twrp before using this ROM!!!!!! More info can be found in captain_throwbacks 'official thread'
Excellent work, Vin:thumbup:

I'll also be starting a new Viper4g 4.0.0 theme thread. All the Rosie/Prism theme apks are ok to use , but old 4g Statusbar themes will have to be redone , they will only change eqs icons and battery. HTC one sb themes will also work

Thank you...and I'll use this post as a reminder, don't use Viper4G keys on the playstore as a form of donation. Just use the Donation link(s) in the OP or under my username if you feel a desire to donate.
Thanks,
Vinchenzop
Get a little thing like the flu and end up being late.... AWESOME! Thanks guys!

Excellent work! Many thanks for keeping this device alive and well. So many tweaks, so little time.

Hey, Vin...nice work. It's always great to see devs who have been lurking in the shadows come out with great roms, even after they have gotten new devices. Our devices have lost a lot of attention, and you are among the few that are left. Kudos.
P.S.: Dang...that's a lot of toggles. Even more than Sense 4, if I'm not mistaken.
Oh... It's on!!
