just root your device problem solved.
then flash this via CWM : [APP] Official Xperia S app from ICS
how to root 4.0.4 directly?
I think you would need to flash 4.0.3 kernel, root it, and then upgrade it to 4.0.4. Check general section, i believe there are couple of threads explaining the process.

and tick:
wipe data
wipre cache
wipe applog
and flash it
