HellO I need help ... I am having neov with unlocked bootloader, rooted , and CWM installed
ON my neov Yesterday I tried installing Night-elf kernel experimental lite v9.6 through flashtool and i failed ..although the process was successful ..whenever i turned on my phone ..the sony ericsson logo flashed and nothing happened . Then i used flastool to get back to my stock android ICS ver 4.1.B.0.431. Now my problems are :
1. MY phone doesnt go in to the recovery when i press the volume down button when the sony logo appears
2. My phone doesnt recognize itself as rooted ..but i can go to the root directory when i use ES file explorer.
3. I Repaired my phone using PC companion but still the same problem.
4. I tried to root my phone again using doomlords method but it failed and without it i cannot install CWM
1. with CWM installed,i press back button to go recovery.Night elf kernel have built-in CWM installed.
2. you have to root your phone. My ES file explorer didnt go to root directory even my phone rooted,it always show SD card content.
3. Dont understand what you repair for
4. Make sure you have the right file for install CWM.there is for GB and ICS...

I went back to my stock rom so that means i hv a stock kernel ..and in stock kernel u hv to press the volume down button to go into recovery..and ES file explorer does go into the root directory .Go to ES file explorer -Settings -there will be a option called go up to root ..check that ..and press the back button it will go to ur root directory ..and i do have the ICS files for installing CWM ...
I never use that type of recovery,i m always use CWM and back button.
I ll tel my step :
1- make sure have all files and correct setting to remember while rooting and install CWM.
2- root the phone
3- install CWM
its easier...sorry not link to the right thread,it s already in the sticky.
btw...how you unlock your BL?test point or official way?

Thanks so much dude that did it ..i had kernel problem .. thank you so much :victory:
How did you expect it to have root and recovery, AFTER you did a clean flash with flashtool?
Se phones doesn't have recovery partition. So no recovery on stock.

You need to root again, using Madyfish method. And when you enter doomlord tool, close flashtool or you will have errors.. (took me 1H to discover this ...)

thanks for taking the time to take a look !
Alright, I'll try helping out.
1st. xRecovery
Install xRecovery then do a full wipe of your phone... Dont forget to backup just in case.
2nd. FlashTool
Use FlashTool Through your computer and flash the official firmware.
3rd. Master reset.
FlashTool 0.2.6 - "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920746"
Decrypted Official ROMs - "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=683793"
xRecovery - "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=859571"
See if any of these methods work...
result :
my phone root is broken so it says successfully instaled xrecovery via the flashtool but i cant boot onto xrecovery it just do a normal startup

that and If u want, do a manual installtion of xRecovery. lemme hit this up:
1st. make sure buzybox is installed, just in case, dl the installer from the market and run it.
2nd. dl xRecovery 0.3 and extract it. (preferebly on computer)
3rd. go into /res/raw/ and you'll find 3 files, copy and paste it into /system/bin/
then xRecovery should be back.
(i kinda do this often cause the auto install of xRecovery usually fails on my phone)
HEY guys...thanks for your hard work here...
i've a problem,
SHORT VERSION:
1-downloaded Doomlord gingerbread backup and made "factory reset"
2-no access to xrecovery (actually i've missed with them in system/
3-no root permission and can't get it with flashtool
4-all i can do is to use the phone in flash mode
5-NOW HOME BUTTON DOES'T WORK,POWER OPTIONS SHOW ONLY POWER OFF,AND I GUESS NO USB DEBUG IS WORKING AS FLASHTOOL NOR SUPERONECLICK NOR ADB METHOD CAN ROOT THE PHONE
Now I'm asking,....can i root or flash custom rom without usb debug??
LONG VERSION:
1-downloaded Doomlord backup
2-wanted to install wolf GB TW or z's uncap
3-my old xrecovery can't mount SD
4- i thought the error had been in the phone so i made a factory reset
5-after the reset i still had a root access
6-downloaded xrecovery 0.3 + unzip
7-copied sh&xrecovery.tar in system/xbin
8-copied 2 charger files to system/bin
9-still the old xrecovery
10-copied the xrecovery.tar in system/bin
11-no recovery mode at all
12-i later i realized that i've no more root access
13-tried 2 factory reset and superoneclick and root with flashtool and with adb exploid method -all not work-
14-then i realized that USB debug may not be working as there's no notifications about it
15-tried some .apks -Gingerbreak&x10iroot- also not work
PLEASE HELP IF U CAN...
since you can connect it in flash mode i suggest flashing stock 2.1 and take it from there
i can flash the firmware in flash mode...but can i flash the ROM?

Yes and no.
No because you can only flash official sony ericsson firmwares using flashtool.
Yes because when you flash back to 2.1, you can root, install xrecovery, and install any rom you want (providing you have the correct baseband).

I had the same problen and fixed it. So first you will need a stock firmware of ICS (find it on google can't provide link because I am using phone...sorry) then you will need latest Flashtool version (download it on google too).
Once you have everything downloaded follow the steps.
1)Instal Flashtool (it's easy)
2)Then open it and navigate folder with name Firmwares.
3)Put in this folder the .ftf file you downloaded (I mean the stock Firmware) Plug the phone in and wait while Flashtool will recognize your phone. IF not instal ADB drivers
4)Then open Flashtool and hit the button with the lightning
5)Choose flashmode
6)Then choose the firmware you puted in the folder.
7)Follow the on-screen instructions and you have your phone back
Reply if I helped you!!!

u can just reflash your kernel and restore your backup from recovery. if u used x-parts or any app to install recovery it installs it to system partition. when u install a new rom it wipes your system partition.
if u haven't unlocked bootloader u have to flash stock firmware via flashtool. then install a recovery mode and restore your backup.

u maybe using an incompatible kernel. try reflashing it via flashtool. if it doesn't works use fastboot commands from command prompt or a terminal.
Hi all, I updated my phone to 6.1.1.b.1.54 but then realised I couldnt root so went back to the firmware before fully - now I am wondering do I Need the full version of 6.1.1.b.1.54 after rooting? Or just the kernel?
Also how do I get CWM onto the phone?
There are so many guides etc, I've spent an hour or so googling it but perhaps someone in the know would find it easier?
thanks.

You need to flash the 6.1.1.B.10 kernel in order to root and install CWM
1) download flashtool here - http://androxyde.github.com/
2) download 6.1.1.B.10.ftf if u don't have it - https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B_d8uWGbkaeta1NFaWI0TlA5bzA/edit?usp=sharing
3) Open flashtool
4) Click flash
5) select the firmware
6) don't wipe anything
7) exclude everything except kernel.
8) click ok
9) Now switch off ur phone, hold the volume down button, connect it with pc and release the button. You'll enter into the flash mode
10) Now the kernel will be flashed.
11) after flashing is done, turn on ur phone and ur phone is ready to be rooted.
12) after rooting and installing CWM, open flashtool
13) flash b1.54 kernel in the way u've flashed b1.10. If u don't have b1.54, download from here - https://hotfile.com/dl/182170062/e1418fd/XPU_6.1.1.B.1.54.zip.html
that's it. ur done.
INSTALLING CWM RECOVERY
1) download CWM from here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1948455
2) Extract the zip file
3) After u've rooted ur phn, connect ur phone with USB debugging on.
4) run install.bat
5) wait for the command prompt to install.
You're done. To access the recovery reboot ur phone. When the song logo appears press the volume down button repeatedly until u enter into recovery...
HIT THANKS IF IT HELPED YOU. THIS IS MY FIRST POST ON XDA.
