I have seen many Threads regarding this. Some say it works some say it doesn't. Well it seems to save battery for me , but i have a question.. as it disables/enables your wifi and data(3G/4G) ..does it affect the hardware ..can it damage the hardware..the wifi/data adopters, etc.
From what I understand of it, being that jd runs in the background. As long as ur not a heavy user and u keep ur screen off most of the day. The system works. But as for damage, maybe. It gave me a load of connection issues. I still have some after I uninstalled. Even after an RUU to stock the issue still present. So, maybe. Maybe not

MAYBE !! .. sounds scary ..hahah ..dont want to brick my hardware due to the constatnt enabling/disabling ..now wondering if i shud disable it (i had bought the premium version)
You will get connection issues and very good batterylife. I'm hoping someone can find a solution for the issues by using a tweaked profile or another app. It is not harmful, just annoying. Any usage of your phone will shorten it's lifespan, and I don't think turning radios on and off is any worse than lets say your screen.

I have been using JD for over a year now on different handsets (Moto Milestone, HTC Desire, SGS2). The current version seems (mostly) stable and claims to extend my battery life by a factor of roughly 1.8. Hardware damages are unknown AFAIK. Connection issues can sometimes arise (very rarely & I don't know whether it's actually JD). Usually it restores a connection (3G or WLan) within 2-5 seconds which is fine by me. Note that connecting speed to eg WLan not only depends on JD or the phone itself but also on the router.
Earlier versions of JD did indeed have grave problems with restoring data connections. But this was around version 1.8 (I think). The current version 3.5 works just fine. Try the free version & if you like it I can only recommend the paid version. Once trained properly, the location aware switching of WLan works well.
(I'm in no way connected to JD, just a satisfied user.)

I have an SGS1 now. Considering upgrading due to unfixable lag with it. Is the SGS2 free from major problems?
Experience may vary .. but for me, after 1 week (coming from HD2), it's a dream phone. Biggest problem seems to be battery life. My is comparable to HD2, but some people have considerate problems with it.
Battery life (fixable - there are some rogue processes that eat it up), banding (16bit color instead of 24bit - fixable, driver issue).
phone gets very hot when gaming, radio is a bit f***ed in that sometimes you cannot get the internet to work when going from wireless to 3g (workaround is to toggle flight mode, bit annoying to be honest). some are experiencing a yellowish left side of the screen, though i personally do not have that problem.
all in all it's a good phone with a few quirks, but comparing to sgs1, (had it previously as well) i must say that it is quite a leap in the right direction.
speaking of lag on sgs1, have you updated to 2.3.3? i gave the phone to my mom and installed 2.3.3 and the lag is almost gone to be honest.

OP, go visit a few forums for phones that have recently been released. The new question isn't "are there any major problems?", but "which major problems should I investigate?" I would challenge any existing SGS2 user to point out a dual-core phone that has fewer issues. You'll find "different" issues, but not "fewer." For now, for me, there's no phone currently out that I'd replace the SGS2 with.
And OP, the direct answer to your question is find the threads on display banding, Wi-FI performance, GPS, 2/3/4G radio, audio, camera, and battery life and if, based on your needs, you're OK with what's been discussed you should be fine.

Had it for a few days. My wifi works fine, no light leaking out of the sides, battery life is normal for an Android smartphone. I don't notice any banding (and I'm not going to go looking for it).
Coming from a Nexus One it's a massive upgrade. Couldn't be happier with it (aside from the loudspeaker quality, iPhone 4 is better in this regard).
By all means take the plunge. It's the best phone currently on the market.

I'd say it's a major... but only effects a few people, it seems.

Which network are you using? It could be an issue on the provider's end! I am on Telstra NextG and find that the issue occurs only in certain areas. I believe it is very tower-dependant as I can go into areas where it flips between 3G and HSPDA+ many many times without fail and then I can get into an area which I assume have not been upgraded and I will end up with the phone stuck in one of the two modes and not be able to transfer data.
I really want this phone when it comes to Canada. The issues seem either minor or limited to small percentage of units. No different than the SGS1 or any piece of technology for that matter. Defective units do make it out the door, that is why there are warranty and return periods.
As to the issue some of you guys are having with loss of data signal, the SGS1 had an issue while on Eclair where when you were in a no signal area the phone would totally freeze and you would have to reboot. It's been fixed since Froyo along with many other bugs.

I am assuming the connectivity issue people are having is with the "up arrow" constantly lit up but not the down arrow. This problem I have seen in every single android handset I have used (G1, Optimus T, SGS1, and of course, the SGS2). The only common denominator is that I have used all of them while on T-Mobile USA's network. It almost always happens when I am in areas with spotty reception, or in other words, instances when I lose signal, momentarily.
However, that isn't the biggest issue for me. I bought the SGS2 to play the Gameloft games I bought on my SGS1, and I can tell you right now that this is the biggest shock to me when I did get my SGS2: none of my Gameloft games work (Asphalt 6, MC2, NOVA2, Eternal Legacy). Although I am finding out more and more about why this is the case now, this was not something I saw coming in the research I've done leading up to my purchase of this phone. 2D games seem to work fine, but if you intend to play 3D games on this phone, I suggest running some searches here with the the name of a game-in-question to see if there are any threads already about its compatibility with the SGS2.
That being said, I do not regret buying this phone one bit. It is hands down the smoothest Android experience I have ever had. I cannot slow this phone down even when I tried, and I am a very heavy user--I can drain my Vibrant's battery in under 3 hours, with di.fm playing while I use feedly and the browser while talking on beejive. This phone can handle that with no slowdown, and last much longer than my Vibrant to boot. I've actually gotten through a full workday with this usage pattern, on a single charge. This is the first phone to last me through an entire day. Even my iPhone needed charging mid-day.

I have just ported to Telstra, from Three ... and the whole train trip home has been perfect. On 3, I had to restart 3 or 4 times.
So, yeah, seem Telstra is OK.

SGS1 does not lag with almost any recent roms. Major problem for me is that it dont have voodoo sound. A MAJOR problem that lol

That was the biggest pile of junk i had ever owned. In 5 months the charging port quit working. In 8 months power botten failed. So then, all the phone would do is boot over and over. Completly usless.

This is what happened to my old Motorola Atrix 4g:
condition: unlocked carier, unlocked bootloader, themed extensively, lots of kernel additions. gingerbread 2.3.4
The phones wifi/bluetooth stopped working after I tried turning wifi on with the GO Launcher EX home screen widget and according to the IRC channel it was a hardware issue possibly caused by a software issue. Further using my phone and applying a wipe and a fruitcake led to bootloops, countless random phone restarts, and no fix for the wifi/bluetooth.
So I got a new bell motorola atrix and I am wondering if it is at !!ALL!! possible for my new phone to experience ANY issues if I use the battery from my old phone in my new one. Please only message if you are having a similar problem or if you are actually experienced enough to give an educated answer. The battery doesnt have any bumps that I can feel, it does have wear, probably from heat. I am not experienced enough to tell if the naked steel conductor part where it connects to the atrix is damaged, but it doesnt have any chips or bumps there. It doesnt reflect light evenly if looked at closely because the middle of each of the four boxes are quite shinier then the rest of the box. Sorry for being paranoid but I really dont want another $350 dollar piece of semi-garbage, Thank you for all those who contribute.
Also, if anyone knows a fix for my old atrix that would be appreciated, and can you also tell me some other things I can stay away from to prevent the same problem from happening again? Should I use titanium backup on my new atrix to restore applications from my old one including go launcher ex?
PS. I want to use my old battery as a secondary one for long days away from a charger.
I'll warn you now this will cause problems my dad and I had same cells I got my new ATRIX and he asked for the battery from my old cell (he wanted it for same reason as you do) it worked fine for him at first but then it started make his cell go really buggy and he was using stock ROM ,locked bootloader and non rooted if you still wish to take the chance I suggest that you wipe battery stats between changing battery's but since its a new cell I don't recommend it also I know with old cells (non android) the battery and cell share codes and don't work right in less it finds the battery has no code I.e a new never used battery gl and plz hit the thanks button

Hey guys! This is my first post on XDA, though I've been using it for quite a while.
I'm not exactly looking for answers/solutions, but rather sharing my problem and see if someone else is having them too.
I have a Latin American version of the I91000 (TTT). I recently upgraded to ICS using the official firmware from Samfirmware (UHLPE). At first everything looked great. The performance improvement was noticeable from the first bootup. Not only was it faster, but the intro video was far smoother and looked nicer. The general UI changes are very nice, and I did notice an improvement in battery life.
However, I've been experiencing a couple of glaring issues that really mared the experience enough to make me want to go back to Gingerbread, which I will probably do.
These are the problems:
1. The mobile data connection is very unstable. Sometimes it just doesn't load anything, and sometimes I lose the signal altogether. The 3G/H/H+ icon disappears and all. I never had this problem in GB during the 6 months I've had this phone.
2. The Bluetooth audio connection also has problems. It's now more unstable and susceptible to interference, and the lag is also much more noticeable now. It was about .5 seconds before, but now it's more than a full second.
But that's not the worst issue. The media remote control functions just stopped working altogether, namely, the |<< , >>| , >/|| buttons on my headset. I have a Nokia BH505 Bluetooth headset, and I didn't have any of these problems before either.
So that's it. I would like to know if someone else is experiencing one or both of these issues. I'll also check the Samfirmware forums to look for replies on the matter. Thank you for your feedback.
Now that there are a couple of versions of the 'official' Lollipop update floating around for the Z3v and people are using it, what's the verdict? What are your thoughts? Was it worth the wait? Is it running alright, better, or worse, than KK? Any problems or concerns?
It might help if you let us know which version you installed (.485 or .509), if you're rooted, and if you did a clean wipe and install or flashed over your previous version.
Also...is simultaneous voice and data working??.....

It does not. I don't think it works on either build, but I'm running version .485, FYI.
Multi-user / guest mode also has been deactivated and is missing.
Im actually enjoying the update, fun little things here and there. Im greatful to have the update everything works well.
I have the unrooted .485 build. To my knowledge almost everything is working perfectly. Battery life is the same if not better. I love Sony's take on material design. The only two things missing are multiple user accounts and the ability to do voice over data, but I do not think that will be turned on until Verizon officially releases the update. Since verizon hasn't released it yet, I'm positive they haven't "hit the switch" to turn it on for our devices.
I'm waiting for Verizon to push this to my phone but am a little concerned that pdanet/foxfi will stop working for me when it comes. Any thoughts on this? What are my risks of waiting on not rooting? Wi-Fi hotspots is critical for me.

I'm actually experiencing a dramatic DROP in battery charge longevity and haven't been able to find out what's doing it.
Other than that, the upgrade is "OK", but without the missing features that we're waiting on Verizon for, I'm not sure it was worth all the hassle.
I just look at it as good practice for when 2 have to go through all this crap again when they finally do release the good stuff.

After having whittled down some of the background apps that I had done in K.K. (per Gigaspx's list), I am now experiencing much better battery life. Also, now that I have Xposed-lollipop-z3v working to tweak the interface, it's looking less foreign to me and more intuitive.
I had both versions installed and clearly prefer 509. I had WiFi issues with 485 and my phones was overheating while wireless charging. 509 fixed those issues and everything is working fine. Compared to 4.4.4 everything is faster and I rely like the new lollipop interface. I haven't done any testing but I think that the battery life also improved.
I'm on 509 and have seen a few odd things.
My GPS locked up the other day and would not update my location. I had to reboot to fix it. This has never happened to me on this phone before.
Hitting recent apps lags. It takes long enough to come up with the list of recent apps that I start to question whether or not I hit the button every single time.
Settings from Tasker profiles that have always worked without a hitch are not being respected. For example, the screen will continuously turn off after 5 or 10 seconds but when I check the settings for screen timeout it says 2 minutes. Re-applying the profile works as expected after.
Other than that I'm enjoying LP. I'll have to do some testing to see what I can fix.

I'm starting to have a constant wakelock. No idea why and I cant fully charge with a wireless charger.
I have only had lollipop a couple of days now (flashed 509). So far I like it. Battery is about the same, never have had any lag, maybe lollipop is a little faster? Several things I like - BT seems more stable, lock screen controls are now more consistent, and the security features are better (I use a pin to lock my phone). I generally like the small changes to the interface.
Things I don't like. The volume controls is not intuitive (muting etc). Themes don't work as well either. Can't seem to get navigation buttons to change.

Since upgrading my bluetooth calls have been annoying and inconsistent. Some calls are fine and others cut in and out so much I have to disconnect from bluetooth to continue the call. Never had a single issue with 4.4

I had Bluetooth problems updating to non root 5.02 without doing a factory reset. I switched back to 4.4.4, rooted and then updated with dual recovery and have had no issues for the past two weeks. My sony smartband talk watch was having a lot of problems which prompted me to go back to a clean factory reset 4.4.4 and then root. I used kingroot and installed recovery before flashing the prerooted 5.02. I'm getting 5.5 hours sot and its very stable.

I'm having Bluetooth problems from a clean stock install... It won't connect to anything... You're saying that the rooted version runs better?

Running .509 and am pleased with the results. I have Advanced Calling supposedly running but to be honest I haven't tested it yet. Phone is very stable and smooth. Battery life is excellent, getting 2+ days from a single charge with light to moderate use.

I tested my Z3V on 5.02 with my son's Galaxy S5 and it does work including HD Video.
I was having the notification tray freeze up the whole phone from time to time. Had to force reboot.
Anyone else? It only happens sometimes when pulling it down.
