Hi Guys,
I am getting kind of desperate. I keep rebooting into recovery mode. Then, the screen shows Fastboot mode started... udc_start (). I think it is stuck. I am using LG Optimus ONE (P500). I have tried battery pull a lot of times. Doesn't work. Any suggestions? If you suggest I reflash stock rom or something, tell me how please. Thanks.

for flashing original firmwares
If you choose to reflash stock ROM, here is what you need:
- tools: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=875881
- ROMs: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=944881 or the link suggested in the tools thread
You may wait a little bit longer before reflashing to see if anybody has a better solution to your problem. Good luck!
More Questions... Help please if you can... Thanks
Hi All,
Thanks to those who have responded so far. I kind of needed the phone fixed ASAP, so I sent it for repair. But anyway, I have a few questions:
1)Is it possible to reflash stock ROM or a new ROM even if the the computer or Android SDK can't detect your device? (This is with the correct driver installed. When my phone was in the fastboot mode screen, it couldn't be detected as an LG Device at all when plugged in.) If you can, how?
2)For those who have successfully gotten a new ROM onto their Optimus One, how did you do it? Is there anywhere where the procedure can be found? And is it relatively safe? (I know there is always a chance you might brick your phone unless you are some expert, but there are some procedures that are safer than others right?)
3)This last question isn't really relevant to this forum section, but I'll ask anyway. Which phone models (any brand, preferably 2.2 onwards) are good for rooting and installing custom ROMs? Like, are there any phones that most rooting/ROM installing software supports? (For instance, I have heard that HTC phones can usually be flashed with custom ROMs without bricking that easily 'cos they are supported by stuff like ROM Manager etc.) And one more thing: what are the easiest/safest ways found to root/flash a new ROM?
Thanks everyone.

Yes it is possible, you'll need to firstly boot into 'emergency mode', by pressing volume up + back + power when the phone is off. Then follow these steps to flash stock rom. You do not use Android SDK at all, all you need is for the phone to get into the emergency mode, it is what most people with bricked phones do to reflash.

Personally, it was relatively easy for me even though I'm a new user to android. I've had my phone for 2 weeks and bricked it 3 times within the first 72 hours. But there are methods to get it back as I explained in Q1 XD In order to flash a new ROM, there are 3 MAIN steps.
1. root your phone
2. install custom recovery
3. make backup and flash new ROM
if you need help on certain individual steps, just post it here and I'm sure someone will help you.

In terms of the easiest method to root, it is definitely to simply run an app that can automatically root the phone for you, such as z4root, or SuperOneClick are just 2 examples. So I'll say whichever phones these app support, will be the easiest to root. ROMs will depend on the users of those phones and their dedication to creating customisable ROM. You can find most of the phones and available ROMs on this forum anyway.
Is it possible to exit emergency mode? Do you do a battery pull or something? I am planning to test out booting into emergency mode when my phone comes back from repair. Will it harm my phone? (Does it do stuff like wiping system data or my installed apps?) Thanks in advance to anyone who will reply.
I think you can just hold power to turn your phone off in emergency mode, but if it doesn't work, you can always pull the battery out. You didn't mention what you did for this problem to start but unless you perform the same thing, you won't need to use emergency mode.

when you said install a new rom, did you install it through kdz? if you did, try installing an optimus s rom through recovery. heres how:
download a rom on your computer
plug your phone in to you computer (with it already booted in recovery)
toggle usbms on your phone
transfer the rom to your phone
flash the rom
Good day everyone,
I hope you all are doing well
It's been almost a year since I bought Ideos U8150-B but to tell you the truth I wasn't satisfied with the phone's speed, it used to lag alot. I tried different methods to fix it but they weren't quite successful.
Then I came to know through the XDA forums about rooting, installing a custom rom etc. I felt quite relieved but being a noob I couldn't do much
Luckily I now have found the way of doing this the easy way, Just follow the intructions below:
NOTE: Rooting/Modifying your ROM/Installing a new ROM will void your warranty and at times it can be risky too, you may end up bricking your phone. DO THIS ONLY WHEN YOU ARE MENTALLY PREPARED OR WHEN YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING
ROOTING Your Android
There are many ways available on the internet about how to root your android but they unluckily didn't work for me much. While browsing through different threads I came to know about this awesome software "z4root" which can root your phone with just one click and luckily it did the job quite well, that settles that
Now How to Install a Custom ROM:
Follow these steps:
1- You need to flash a custom recovery
In my case I flashed ClockworkMod 3.0.2.4 (by marcnvidic), there are some others available too but I don't quite know about them much so I would recommend clockworkmod.
HOW TO flash?
It's simple, install "Root toolbox", it must be available in the android market if not then google it.
Install it on your android and when you will open it you will see a number of options, just look for "Flash Recovery" option and then it will ask you to browse the recovery, navigate it to where you placed the recovery file and it will flash it for you within seconds.
2- Choose a custom ROM: Download the custom ROM of your choice and place it in the sd card. I am currently using Fusionideos and I found it to be the best ROM for ideos U8150. There are many others available as well.
3- After downloading and placing your ROM in the sd card switch off your phone and boot it in recovery mode (To boot in recovery mode press volume up key+call key/send key+power button for about 5 seconds and it will boot your phone into recovery mode and you will see a black screen with few options like wipe data, wipe cache, install zip from sd card etc. If you don't then you must have made some mistake while flashing the recovery, if that happens try step #1 again.
4- Once you have booted your phone in recovery mode you can finally start installing a custom ROM, just do the following:
* Perform a backup of your current ROM using Backup and restore option in the recovery.
* After backup is complete go to the main screen and select Wipe data/factory reset.
* After that return to the main screen and finally select "install .zip from sd card"
It will take you to browse the custom ROM file, just navigate it to where you placed it. Wait for the installation to complete. After the installation is complete reboot your phone via the reboot option on the main screen and hopefully you will have your new custom ROM running
I hope that was helpful and you won't have to spend hours browsing the web to learn about all this

thanksssssssssssssssssssss
nice and easy alternative instructions.... well done... In Rom Manager app i was not able to install custom recovery... because my Ideos u8150 was not listed there... so your method worked perfectly... thanks again
Locked by ZONG
Hi,
I've read you post about rooting and custom Rom installing.
But my phone is locked by Zong so I want to ask that after doing all this, whether my phone will be unlocked or not?
Please Reply as soon as possible.
Thanks

Sorry but installing a custom ROM will not unlock ur phone. U will have to use some alternative method for that. For instance, using dc-unlocker will help but it's not free or u may go to a mobile market and ask an expert to unlock it for u. I also have ideos zong and it's still carrier locked.
I want to unlock for free
I want to unlock my phone for free
that's why I posted here so that I might get help from here.
n as you said that Dc-unlocker has charges for unlocking and I've also visited market but they are demanding too much money for unlocking
but I want it for freeeeeeeeeee

Yeah it is good to save some money
BTW, how much were they asking to unlock ideos at the market and which market was it?
Unlock IDEOS U8150 | ZONG
You can get your phone unlocked from hafeez center, lahore.
I asked from one shop and they told me Rs.1200
but I think that if you visit all shops, you'll surely find some shop demanding less price than the above one.

As far as I know, deleting a system app like facebook, youtube etc should not harm your rom in anyway but for this you need root permissions and root explorer app for R/W mounting.
P.S. I am talking about third party system apps, don't try to mess with other system apps.
Ok, i have now bought a SGS2 coming from the Desire community. My phone is due later today and it will be rooted + custom ROM installed straight away.
I have been installing ROM's etc on my desire for ages and the whole principal is not new to me, however i just wanted to get my facts straight here before i jump right in as it does seem quite a bit different here!
Ok, i have this guide here to root:
[19.10.2011][CF-Root 4.4] KE*, KF*, KG1/2/3/5/6/7, KH1/3/4, KI2/3/4/8 - su+bb+CWM4
It all seems very straight forward and it installs CWM4 so all good. Where i am a little confused though, is that it says unless you flash another kernel which has CWM then you will lose it? This is new to me as on the Desire you could flash different kernels all day but it would never lose my CWM?
So if i then flash a custom ROM say this one for example:
Sensation ROM
..its implies that it doesnt touch the kernel?? - Is that correct? Does the ROM's for SGS2 not have a particular kernel included? - If so thats something for me to remember from here on!
All i want to do is root, install different ROM's and see what one i like best but keep CWM all the time as i am very used to it!..
Now i did see this thread:
SGS2 Easy Rooting Toolkit(zergRush Exploit)
Now it seems very easy to root on this method but no mention at all of CWM - so can i use this method and then install CWM? - I couldnt find how to do that though
As you can see i have done some research and i hate asking silly questions, but i just want to make sure i understand before i start!
Thanks in advance all!
I'm curious about this too. I just rooted with the zergbrush method that you mention on my Galaxy S2, but I can't get ROM manager to work. Do we need cf-root for the CWM to be installed? I'd probably try the cf-root method if that's the case, since I want to backup current ROM before flashing with anything else.
Well i think by the lack of replies that it may have been a dumb question , so i will use the cf method and just carry on reading the various threads..
I haven't heard ofa custom ROM that ships with a kernel withouth CWM installed, just because it would be really stupid.
The only thing you should be warned of is the difference between custom ROMs that are based on samsung firmware (touchwiz interface) and AOSP ROMS (like CM7 and MIUI). I tell you this becasue most Samsung based ROMS come with a CWM version that is not compatible with AOSP ROMs so in order to flash an AOSP ROM you'll have to flash a kernel via ODIN that comes with a non modified version of CWM. That said, you won't be having any problems.

THis is exsctly was I was refering to earlier. ROM manager DOESN'T work with CWM version installed with cf root kernel, since cf root kernel comes with a version CWM modified specifically for SGS2 devices. If you want to use ROM manager you'll have to flash this kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1118693
Anyway there is an app called CWM manager that was developped for using with the modified CWM (cf root). You can find it in the market, it may be your replacement for ROM manager.
EDIT: CWM manager app isn't in the market but is included with the cf root kernel. So if you flash the cf root kernel you'll find the CWM manager app in your app drawer.
Grab odin,
Put phone into download mode,
Put a kernel that has cwm into PDA section of odin. (should be a .tar file)
Plug in phone, flash.
Plug phone into computer, move VillainRom 3.0.zip onto root of phone.
Unplug phone.
Reboot phone into CWM recovery.
Install villainrom.zip from CWM menu (install zip file from sd etc)
All done.
Custom rom, rooted and running latest 2.3.5 android.

This might sound stupid but rather that than knacker my phone completely.
I have successfully rooted and flashed a custom rom, and I'm happy with it but for future reference and to double check before messing up my phone, can I flash any rom?
hi guys;0) i got an rogers note today I717R. I rooted it all worked but: i cant flash clockwork mode. device is not listed on rom manager i tried using the at&t one but didnt worked. When i try flashing it goes to 100% and then stops. How can i flash ? i would really like to use custom roms.
when i try Goo manager it says No recoverys were found
Sorry for this questions but im looking for hours now here online cant find a fix
When the Canadian Notes are updated via OTA they have a a file that prevents the installation of a custom recovery. Check out this thread:

Hi guys,
I was wondering if anyone would be kind enough to point me to a link for a Hisense U980 Stock Recovery and scatter file. Mine has unfortunately become corrupted and i currently have the MLS recovery (Chinese) version on my device. I've basically followed the guide I've found on XDA forums to root and install the custom ROM but i'm having the following issues:
After flashing the custom, my SIM management option is greyed out under settings. Therefore, it's not detecting either of the SIM card's installed (dual SIM phone).
Running the new MIUI OS, my devices soft keys (Home, Back buttons etc.) are no longer functional making it difficult to navigate menu options.
I've tried following the tutorial to create a stock recovery but MTK Droid Tools is not detecting my device.
I've downloaded the stock ROM from needrom but am unable to flash it with the current recovery.
My feeling is, if i can revert to the stock recovery, i'll be able to flash the stock ROM.
I've posted some images as well.
Any help will greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Graham

Phone must be rooted (IRoot works)
1. Install any root explorer or browser and then check if root permissions are enabled (Security App>Permission>Root Permission).
2. Modifying Build.prop
2.1 Open root browser/explorer and navigate to system folder.
2.2 Open build.prop with the text editor (root browser comes with it)
2.3 Add this line on last line of the text then save. Select allow to all permission prompts.
qemu.hw.mainkeys=0
If the keyboard is missing download a keyboard APK like swiftkey and install it the through the file explorer.
Hi guys...
I have a question and a suggestion
For the stock ROM I found where I can download it its covered in the official forum for the hisense but its in Chinese I think I can't post the links.. Also I used the frameroit apk to root my phone its simple... My question is ... Have anyone got this to work I have the links for the miui for u980 but its my only device now n I don't want to risk ... If so can anyone post a screen shot for it n is it worthy I always was a fan for slimroms... Didn't like miui but its the only option now ... Also I found a link to twrp recovery for it... My main concern is not bricking the device as I always used to flash Samsung devices n this is my 1st time with hisense... But I like the device n the hardware is good enough for me... Do u think miui will make a difference..
Thx

Hello Graham and everyone, you guys are struggling so much.
I'm gonna try to backup my rom and post it for all of you my friends.
But gonna have to clean it first, so be patient. Have a good day.
Ok, i finished uploading my ROM, I don't know if the stock recovery is included in it.
I would like to help you and backup or copy/paste my stock recovery files. I will search online and if you have an idea you can help me too.
I can't use a PC because currently my phone's USB is broken and no one has a similar one here. So, I'm ordering one online.
That's why i backed my ROM using "Online nandroid backup".
Here is the link for the ROM:
