Hi,
I am fed up with NFC making that stupid noise! I use it to change my phone to silent so it's normally in a place where I want the phone to be silent but it plays the sound when reading a tag. I know the ogg files are in the Nfc.apk but when I've tried replacing them with silence and pushing the apk back it always breaks NFC on my phone entirely
I also really dislike the NFC icon you get on the system bar under ICS, that wasn't there on GB and I always leave NFC on so it's pretty annoying.
Would someone who know how be able to mod NFC so it is silent and has no (or just a transparent) icon?
Thanks

The sound doesn't bother me but the icon does, as you say, was much nicer on GB without the icon there. Wondering if it is the standard or something that Sony put in?
It wasn't there on my Nexus S with CM9 but I don't know if that was a CM9 thing rather than ICS
No, stock ICS doesn't have that icon.

I have Sony ics and tbh the icon doesn't bother me. If I want it gone I would switch off NFC.

You can disable the icon in build.prop. ro.nfc.icon or something.

You don't need a mod, you need an attitude adjustment. I was merely voicing an opinion.
It's a tiny icon, hardly stealing screen space.
If you want a mod then place a bit of black tape over that part of the screen ;-)

I'm not saying your opinion is not valid but you do appear to be saying that of mine.
If you don't mind the icon and sounds, bully for you, but I dislike them so I created this thread.
Now back on topic. That build.prop mod worked for the icon, so many thanks K900 but it's the sound that is the bigger annoyance really. Any ideas how to get shot of that? As I say, when I tried replacing the ogg files in the apk and pushing it back on, it broke so I obviously did something wrong.

Hello,
Presenting today a little modification of standard lockscreen.
As U all know QVGA display don't give us much space for nice graphic things, despite that I tried to do a good looking Honeycomb style lockscreen mod, and here it is. I leave the effect to your opinion. If You downloaded it, and You like it, than press the "Thanks" button - 1 second, and a big cheer for me.

This mod should work with all stock, and modded sony ericsson frameworks. Tested on .24, and .504 - works like a charm.
NOT TESTED ON X8! (but probably working...) And NOT FOR CM6. Only SE FW!
SCREENSHOTS:
Tutorial HOW-TO-INSTALL:
- Open framework-res.apk with 7zip
- Select "res" folder from downloaded archive, and drag him to opened 7zip window
- When prompted "Are sure You want to copy...?" select "YES"
- Close 7zip
- Push framework-res.apk to your phone
Tutorial screenshot: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=525089&stc=1&d=1298451316
Please have in mind, that it's the only fast, and safe method. Don't try to update framework-res.apk another way, or You get a bricked phone after pushing file to system folder!
If You aren't sure how to do this please ask. Asking don't cost, and can protect from messing up Your phone!
The safest way to push framework-res.apk to Your phone is using ADB Mask Controller. When You f*ck up Your phone is always a chance to get back with this app. Please be careful, and read everything before You try to install!

Wow... that´s nice.
I´m trying to make my own with the help of "draco_ag"... but I can´t get the hang of it.
My idea was to take the blue stock slider and colorize the buttons to green/yelloish for the unlock and gray for the mute. I just don´t really get the hang of it... My problem is that I don´t know why some elements just look ugly when I recolor them in PS.
Perhaps something for you?
I´ll use this one until I figure it out.
Love the Slider!!! Thx!!!

Try using the tip from OP.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=868423
Please look at this private conversation (no nicks):
Just so I understand... I Connect my X10mini and start ADB Mask Controller. Under the tab "Framework" i click Pull to make a backup of my own framework. This one I open with winrar and browse to res (and the desired folder) and leave it open. Then I drag and drop my new elements in the RARwindow (the corresponding folder) and close it... then i click Push to put it back on the phone... reboot and done?

Not exactly.
If You want to modify framework safely You must do a backcup yourself, for example with RootExplorer. I don't recommend doing it with ADB Mask Controller because sometimes it's buggi with pulling framework.
Second - You open it with 7zip, and no other program! Only 7zip. The reason is simple - only 7zip give You 100% safety. Then You drag-and-drop "res" folder from archive, and close 7zip window.
Now You go to ADB Mask Controller, and under "Framework" tab You click Browse. Now just select moded FW, and click "send". When prompted "Do You want..?" Click OK, and thats it.

New WidgetLocker 2.0 has that option. Unfortunately activating it give us not only no default lockscreen, but also any key can wake up the phone, which is very annoying i.e. while listening music (volume keys). Thats the android (or xperia?) limitation. We have the same feature in Battery Indicator, but as I said - enabled wakes up phone screen on every button hit.
Yes, I use widgetlocker also, but with nolock, because with only widgetlocker I can't disable the default lock screen... I have seen that some Android phones have an option for setting the default screen lock to never....
Nice lock screen! What theme are you using for the status bar and stuff? Really like the graphics and stuff.

I really liked the boot animation tonecreationz ported to the Atrix. tonecreationz original thread HERE. So, I edited it up to match the overall blue theme I'm using now, which consists mainly of greyblur and some custom-colored icons I made.
Credit goes to tonecreationz and to those he place credit towards in his own thread. All I did was change the color from green to blue/red/yellow. itsonlym3 is responsible for the sound effect.
If anyone sees anything wrong with the animation or has any suggestions, speak up. In the slim chance that I can/know how to fix it, I'll do my best.
*disclaimer: as always I make no warranty with the linked CWM zip. if you soft brick your device, that's the risk you take. worked for me.

-completely revamped animations for huge improvement in image quality. Should now be just as good as tonecreationsz' original green version.
-Added versions with sound (credit to itsonlym3)
The files linked below for download are NOT to be used with the leaked 4.5.91 Gingerbread 2.3.4 or anything newer than ATT's 1.8.3 firmware. The CWM zips are not compatible with the new version of Tenfars CWM for unlocked bootloaders (i think, i'm no dev)

I suppose that depends on what you want to do with it. If you want it to play with the boot animation it goes in /system/media
but to make it play you have to edit the desc.txt file that is inside the bootanimation.zip
go HERE for a general guide on how to do that.

what sound is with them? also, if you have your media volume muted then reboot does the bootanim sound play no matter what? that's the only reason i wouldn't want it if there was no way to boot w/o sounds.
there's links to with and without sound.
plus, you could just pull the sound file out of the file and/or modify the desc.txt file.

Or do you just want the ability to use or not use the sound depending on situation?

If you have root explorer, you can always try renaming the ogg files in /system/media/ to something different or better yet, move them out to a different location when you don't want sound...
then replace or rename when you do want sound...
I don't think there is a simpler solution other than just using the version without sound...

dont know about notification pane but i know how to change the ui sounds. you need root and a root explorer to do this. if you have the stock aosp sounds you just have to rename them and replace the sounds you want in the system/media/audio/ui folder. there are 2 water sounds in that folder. one for the touch screen and the other for the capacitive buttons. their names are TW_Touch.ogg and S_HW_Touch.ogg. to replace them, rename the sounds you want to use as the water sounds. example: if you want to use a file called tap.ogg as your default touchscreen sound, just right click on the tap.ogg file, choose rename and replace its name with TW_Touch.ogg and save that. transfer your newly renamed file to the system/media/audio/ui folder but remember you have to set your file explorer to read/write to do this, reboot and youre done. do the same with other sounds you want to to change. hope that helped.
Here mate,
here you got both files you need to replace - as attach.
You just need to unrar the file and paste the 2 files in this directory: system/media/audio/ui
I changed Lock.ogg and Unlock.ogg to iphone sounds and it works perfect on stock rom!

Bugs:
- There is a very tiny 1px transparent bar sometimes when unlocking slow. (except for the black version)
- Dont unlock dragging over the status bar, just release somewhere between clock and statusbar.
Download:
http://www.mediafire.com/?gqn62mmr9xf4q
Installation: (will probably only work on CM10)
- Flash one of the three zip packages
BB10_lockscreen.zip = lockscreen without white background behind clock
BB10_locscreen_clock.zip = lockscreen with white background behind clock
BB10_lockscreen_black.zip = no transparent background, but black. No 1px bug here.
Note: this replaces some framework files and SystemUI.
Please click thanks if you like this or donate a little.
Thanks a lot . I really waited it

It works but not exactly BB10 like
lockscreen is great but it actualy does from bottom to upward.
its more similar to windows phone 8 beside wp8 screen waves like paper.
BB10 lockscreen tend behave more like LG optimus G lockscreen just not radii driven.
your lockscreen works in principle toching lower of the screen.
instead it should be any where on the screen.
only thing neat is it has some arc finger movement which is nice
BB10 is almost 100% the same: check this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CCUbOq6oONM
Only difference here it is black (as it was in dev kit a from bb10 i believe), also i just ported it from the nexus.

Too bad though, the transparent version looks damn sexy. I guess I'll stick to the black version for now.
Anybody tried on 4.2 ?
Will this work on xperia arc s?
I want the black version so bad , but we only have the transparent one , and the 1px bug annoys me D:

Thanks! I plan to use it as well. Just wanted to be sure. Could the keyboard be changed,or substituted, however? Too much red for me. I'd prefer maybe black keys with red characters, for example. Maybe I could flash one from somewhere else, I don't know.

Yes you could try flashing one from somewhere else shouldnt hurt anything.
How would we revert to stock icons for applications?
Do any other colors exist? I would like a ICS blue if possible.

Yes there is a blue one.
As a suggestion, I'd love it if you modified the menus, such as the menu resulting from the menu button, to look like the shut-off menu-i.e. black, with fine red lines and white text .
Note: Looking at the files in the zip, it sort of looks like the menu background should in fact be black, or transparent black, but it isn't. Maybe I'm not understanding the file labels, some are more readily identifiable than others. I assume if you don't include art in the file, then it remains as Google designed it.
Thanks!!

Yes, exactly. Mine doesn't look like that; OK, After swiping the screen about 30 times with my palm it finally decided to take a screen shot before the menu closed itself. There must be a better way, but you can see my menu and yours don't look anything alike.

Thanks! Either of your methods was way better than mine!! But, mine did get the job done eventually. Now I know.
Next question is, why are they different? Did you make a change to the theme, or is mine somehow screwed up?
