The only custom kernel for ics that currently (mostly) works is Anthrax. It is not hosted on XDA. Search Google for it and you should find it.
We're really waiting for HTC to release the source.

Just go to anthrax-kernels.us.
If posting this link is against the agreement with XDA and that certain dev, (I don't think it is since it don't say his name but who knows) I will completely understand if this post gets deleted.
Sent from my Anthrax infected 3D!
Thanks fellas!!

How to know which kernel is correct?
As of now I am using Sensation rom which has Siyah kernel 2.5.2 and I want to flash speedmod kernel or N.E.A.K. Kernel,
N.E.A.K. Kernel only supports sammy roms
I tried to search but I could not find out if Sensation rom is aosp or sammy do you have any idea of it?
also does speedmod kernel support both as nothing it written about it on its thread

Normally on the first page of a rom thread you will get a description what is the rom. For example MIUI is well MIUI. Hyperdroid is sammy deodex rom with of course modifications and tweaks in the build to make it better than stock.
Sensation rom is sammy deodex no aosp nothing like that. And when you normally look for an AOSP rom it normally would say it in the heading of the thread anyway.
On the kernel thread it has a guide of what roms the kernel works on and which ones it does not. Siyah works basically with any rom. CM7 to AOSP to sammy deodex. Regarding Simone's kernel which is the NEAK version or something like that it is based on only sammy stock deodex roms and that is mainly the ones in original development and android..just look out for deodex, sammy and stock rom
AS above its all a question of reading the info on the first page of the kernel post .
Plus if it does not work flash another one .
the Neak kernel should be ok been on mine for a few days .
Speedmod likewise ok have used it before .

Thanks everyone for their wonderful help!
I have got one last question
Speedmod kernel says "it is only for Samsung Gingerbread ROMs. It will not work with CyanogenMod or MIUI ROMS!"
does this means it will not work with sensation rom?
Edit: ok looks like the different versions are just the updated ones
But still the question is if it supports sensation rom?

Now, if you look at the VERY FIRST page for SensatioN ROM,, it says:
SensatioN ROM Features:
-Based on Samsung Firmware XWKK5 Android 2.3.6
With all of this information, you should be able to deduce that the Speedmod kernel WILL work with your ROM. If you still don't understand, I'm going to suggest you don't flash anything to your phone, for fear of ending up with a paperweight.
Ok this time I understand everything
I didn't knew that Sammy roms means that the ROM is based on Samsung's stock ROM
Also I thought that speedmod only works on stock ROM so all this things got me confused
But anyways now its all clear

Hi I just recently unlocked and rooted my rezound and am looking to install a custom rom. There are so many ICS roms out there and I find it hard to sort through them and find the best one. I would like to know: Which ICS Rom is the most stable, which ICS Rom is de-sensed the most, if the rom updates the mainversion, and which ICS kernel is the best (and where to download it. Thank you for your help!
All the Devs list bugs in the first post of the from thread so read that carefully before flashing anything.
For stable....I would run Clean Rom ICS by Scrosler or Nils Business ICS if you want full-sense stable along with a bit of the theming done.
As for Senseless...I have been running NewtoRoots Senseless and it has been running awesome for me. The main issue is inability of sending/receiving MMS but I'm using GOsms in the meantime until that is fixed. One of the users packaged the rom to flash the kernel as well if you're not all that comfortable using fast boot right now. In this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=22435498
Most of the ICS roms will update your main version unless you flash the kernel (boot.king) via fastboot. There is a how to in the Dev section to revise you main version if you wish to go back to GB.

Thanks for your help! I was actually considering flashing newtoroot's senseless, but just wanted to see if any other roms were any good as well. I will probably flash senseless tomorrow. So when I download the rom, it will automatically flash the kernel, right?

Actually most if not all all the devs have changed the main version to the OTA version number.

Yes they will supply the kernel also. Some devs include it in the rom zip, others have it as a seperate dowload. You wil have to read the first couple posts in the thread to see what it says. Follow the directions of the dev is the best advice.

Hi all. There is something with which I might have beats audio on my stock rom?
Thanks.
So your looking for your stock ROM to have beats? Are you rooted? It will have to be a custom ROM.

You will need a custom kernel that supports it. I know the latest Anthrax supports beats.

So if you add the Anthrax Kernel you will have Beats support, no what next needs to happen to configure or see it available.?

Flash a custom rom that's has beats enabled.
#Root-Hack_Mod*Always\
Rooted and all. There are currently two parts you need to have "full beats"
1. Rom support
2. Kernal support
Otherwise its not beats...
Currently anthrax is only kernal with support.. on to the new issue...
What recovery? What ruu??

I have 4ext touch recovery Rc3 and Ruu I think is 1.20.401.8 or 10.59.9020.00U_10.15.9020.06_M
The only problem is that i want to use stock rom. Is there any rom that's as similar as possible? Expecially about battery life...

Meanrom2.92 is basically a beefed up stock Rom, with beats enabled on the Rom side... Then you need anthrax stock kernal with the beats drivers... That is going to be as close to stock as you can get with beats... Also has some serious battery life...
I use a 3500mah extended battery and I get a solid 10-12 hours of game play time... It will sit almost a week at idle..
Obviously the stock battery will be less

To expand on NIN's answer, the only ICS kernel that works 100% with the CDMA Sense ROMs (like MikVirgin) is the stock kernel. There are others (I guess other since there is only one) out there, but some things are still not working properly with it. When HTC releases the kernel source, then we will see some great kernels, but until then, stock is the way to go.
Aaah ok, well thanks for the info , ill be patiently waiting for the a new kernel soon hopefully
I'm S-Off TWRP 2.2.2 If I Flash EvilZ's kernel on Viper4g 2.0 can I use Viper Control to go back to the stock kernel or do I need to nand back or something similar?

Ok, sorry to be noobish, but how would I flash the Viper kernel? I'm only familiar with flashing zipped flashable kernels.
Just like you normally flash roms and kernels.
you can pull out the boot.img that comes in the viper2.0 rom.
I've been hearing people having screen tearing issues with evilz kernel and viper2.0.
IMHO i think the stock rom kernels are always optimized to the point where their battery life is great.

Yeah, that's why I was making sure to find the easiest way to get back. Some people seemed to be getting good results from EvilZ, but maybe I'll just stick with the one with the ROM.

Non stock kernels can add features way beyond stock. Not just battery but other things. I am a believer in kernels, you just got to find one that works with your setup.
Now that said evilz didn't agree with my phone, hoping to find some time to start work on a new kernel.
