Just saves a bit of time and its just my strange way of doing things
What's the difference between this rom and senseless v4.1.1
Sense? :laugh::silly:
I'm unable to get the same speed as the senseless ROM however I believe it is much faster than stock
Do people still want it?

Take it easy? We aren't being harsh. There was no point in posting before you had a link other then try and get attention for yourself. It was pointless and as to saving time he could have typed it up using preview and then saved it on to his computer. We were just pointing out that he didn't need to post it yet, and it doesn't really make sense too. If he had wanted to get feedback and ask for opinions then maybe he should post something in general.

I have already got a link, its just my Dev-Host account got suspended for too much bandwidth usage :/
I am working on getting this resolved via contacting Dev-Host on twitter, they seem to have an IP Block on me for some reason, hopefully will be resolved shortly.
@WadeGeek, this wasn't a silly attempt to get attention, maybe you should get to know what people are like before you start making wild allegations.
To the others i am working to get this resolved and sorry for the delay, i wrote the OP when i was uploading the file last night, however the link failed.
I would upload to another site but DevHost usually works well and allows me to keep track of how many DL's etc.
What has less of a point, setting a place aside for a future link or posting to complain about it?
Either way to argue about it is pointless, it is the op's thread to do as he likes. If people take issue with it take it to the mods. Personally I think it is pretty ****ty that both of his threads have less than friendly post on the first page when all he is trying to do is learn how to develop and share his work
My two cents
Version 1
OK, so version 1 is up and my account is unblocked so its downloadable.
Please give em your opinions and requests and this will make it much easier and quicker for me to iron any issues out
I had to re-upload the file :/ but its thee now SORRY FOR THE DELAYS

I am rooting soon and would like to know what rom is close to stock but takes out the bs apps like footprints and such, runs quick, lets me overclock, live wallpaper, has the basic functions working (google voice, marketplace, voice input, etc). Also why choose other roms vs. what I need? Do other roms have better functionality? Thank you for all for the great community especially the devs. Love you guys!

If you're looking for a rom that's close to stock try plain jane OR XTROM.
If you're looking for the fastest thing out there you'll want one of the froyo ROM's but they aren't stable yet.
try the plain_janeT2....... pretty much stock 2.1....... can overclock, a2sd, wifi tether...... removes apps like footprints, amazon, peep, stocks....

I had problems with web views on apps though with Ivans - presumably because it uses the 2.1 leak instead of the OTA. Id recommend PlainJain for HTC goodness, but XTROM for sweetness and speed. That thing is peppy.
Also, you can very easily remove stock apps yourself. So whichever ROM you choose, adb commands (or Root Explorer app), can get rid of em for ya.
I use titanium backup to freeze/uninstall apps.
I did a search for XTROM and nothing came up.

You realize that by dignifying his rant with a response, you've given it at least a small amount of validity.
Ignore him. That's pretty. no one I'd acknowledging his rant but you. Just let it go.
Also, check out evil eris in the coming days/weeks. I bet framework adds a lot more to it.

Alpha0.6 Release notes:
Another minor release. While working on bigger problems that will take a while I wanted to push out an update for some things that have happened in the last few days. This is primarily to get Flemmard's work out for more testing. This contains the start of CyanogenMod settings. However, most of the settings are not functional on tablets yet.
With this release I will also provide two flashable zips to allow you to easily switch between lcd density 120 and 160. The default is still 160 because it offers the greatest compatibility. Any lcd density value between 160 and 120 will ruin market compatibility. For those that would like a "higher resolution" look and feel, you may flash the 120 lcd density update.zip. This will copy a new build.prop and will update the launcher for proper display. I strongly recommend changing the font size in Settings->System->Fonts if you chose to do this. The 160 lcd density update is provided to easily revert the change.
Touchscreen fixes
Ability to hide the combined bar(navigation buttons and clock) for full screen. This uses the ICS api so it will require app support(not all apps have been updated). This is an option under Settings->[Interface]->System->Combined Bar (Credits to Flemmard)
Scrollable quick settings. This will require tweaking later to allow it to be bigger on the Touchpad but fixes overflow issue on 7" tablets with the new Bluetooth toggle. (Credits to Flemmard)
Reboot to recovery is working via the power menu(hold down power button). Note: reboot will sometimes shutdown rather than rebooting.
Preliminary support for Rom Manager. In order to use this you will need Rom Manager Premium because it is not official yet. In order to use it you will need to execute "Flash ClockworkMod Recovery" in Rom Manager. Confirm the model is cm_tenderloin, say yes that you have installed manually, and check ClockworkMod 3.x. Now you can use Rom Manager to flash update.zips. Official support should come soon.

The problem with that is that dalingrin asked specifically that this NOT be done.
It's not exactly theft, but definitely bad form.
And do we really want to alienate the dev's that are coding this for us?
I'm quite thankful for his work, and I'll be happy to give his site the traffic if dalgrin would like it to be that way.
Imagine a coworker of yours swiped everything you did, and handed it to your boss and said, "Look what got accomplished this week!"
It's just not cool.
I'd like to go on record by "ANTI-THANKING" this post, but unfortunately that's not possible.

We all know who made the update so that's not the issue here. The issue is not having to get redirected to another site that's going to tell us the exact same information. If anything he should post something here on XDA (a much better community that RootzWiki IMO) and have the exact same stuff here. Why make us go to a certain site?

Hey Masta
It was a request by the developer. A simple request to link to the op of his thread is what is deserved. He wants to keep question and counts as he should. I don't like it when people repost mirrors of my stuff either. These threads aren't needed because many are already out linking back to source files.
Not to mention, without dalingrin and team, we wouldn't have such nice toys. They make ground breaking systems, the least we can do is honor their wishes. Would hate to see source closed up due to people not doing what's asked.

I agree, also to mention that by you distributing a linux kernel and also the gapps, you are violating many other agreements. That's why the other site has links to each GIT or repository and you have to download them seperate. This protects everyone as the source can be verified. If someone were to post a zipped up virus / Trojan / keylogger the end user would never know it. Also it's against XDA rules. I'm not trying to be mean, it's just XDA can be called out and has been called out in the past for distributing GAPPS and Linux Kernel without sighting the source.
Link removed, however it's ok to link to the dev's thread and discuss here. Unless you would also like to link to the source's where members can download and build their own roms. Thanks and I hope everyone understands.
Well I didn't see where he said no mirrors at all. But I know I've had problems with goo.gl or whatever it is in the past. Also I didn't claim it was my own. I'll just carry on helping at other sites instead then. Where the members aren't as technically minded and are constantly asking what they need and can't figure out the mess on rootzwiki, so having just one link helps them all no end.
I'm a new user here. I think a link in the first post in this discussion would be useful. A link to the download at rootzwiki is better than no link at all in my opinion but perhaps I am missing something and the link is actually posted somewhere?

The problem is that Dalingrin (one of the dev's that's been working on this project) has specifically asked that people NOT provide external links to his work. He wants to be able to keep track of how many people DL their stuff and do Q&A, via rootzwiki.
In an effort to not piss the guy off, some people respect his wishes.
thanks!!
Just wanted to say thank you.. good job and keep it up!!
Why is this the only ROM that takes over 4hrs to download and then its incomplete! I'm sorry, but it's just not worth the time.
Why didn't you post this in the rom's thread? If it just got released recently, it's possible the download server is overwhelmed.
To answer your question about download speeds, its the file host's problem. Finding a reliable/fast/cheap file sharing site at the moment is pretty difficult. And 4 hours of waiting, and having a invalid checksum/incomplete download? That's nothing worth to start a thread nor rant about, either inform the dev or don't download at all. It's nice to have all these devs contribute time to making a stable ICS ROM, but have unreliable host sites. Just try again is all I can say
Start deving and make your own roms.
I've Noticed This Being A Problem. I Can't Control The Bandwidth Over The Free File Sharing Sites. I'm Working On Setting Up A File Sharing Server On My Desktop.
I Really Don't Appreciate This Thread. WE ALL KNOW About Download Speeds From Servers. Sometimes It's Good And Sometimes Not So Good.
If You Are That Pissed Off, Go Make Your Own ROM And Go Host It On Your Own Unlimited Bandwidth Site.

You might make a polite enquiry about why the download is slow, you might even sympathise about the difficulties of finding good download sites, but what you wrote is rude and implies criticism of the developer who is giving you something for FREE.
Whether you judge it "not worth the time" is something for you to decide, we aren't interested in trolling remarks!
Hey XDA,
I got my S3 at launch, and ever since I've seen some great Jelly Bean roms coming out I've been tempted to flash one on. My only problem is that I'll be losing S Beam, Smart Stay and Direct Call.

Samsung is almost ready testing Jellybean for the S3, it will come out in about 6-8 weeks officialy. Maybe some leaked roms will pop up at Sammobile soon. If you only want to root for Jellybean i would not do it and wait for a little while.
If you want those features stock with Samsung based roms and wait for the official jelly, in the meantime check out a few custom s Samsung roms to keep the flash addiction happy
There's a few reasons I'd flash one of these roms on it. #1 being I for some reason am a massive vanilla android fan, and #2 being that I live in Australia and it will probably take them an extra 6 months to bring the official update here after it's released. Although, I did get the "Stability Improvement" update last weekend, a few weeks off the rest of the world, is that an indication of future updates being that quick also?
Thanks for your replies and I look forward to continue this thread to help me decide. One part of me is thinking how hard is it to touch the screen to stop it from sleeping, press a button to call someone, or use bluetooth to transfer files bigger than web pages. The other is saying what's the point of getting the latest and greatest smartphone to get rid of it's advertised features?
I think ultimately the answer is just flash it and if you don't like them just restore your nandroid! I've got 4 now, of different roms/kernels ....it's like having quad boot!

if you root then you can create a nandroid backup(complete system image) so I try different roms, if I like one I set it all up then do a nandroid, so if I want to try other roms and come back I just restore it, but now that this will lose your data between making that original nandroid and returning to it

Everyone's situation is different, hence why I'm asking. Also, I'm not "demanding" anything, I'm simply asking people who have already done what I'm thinking an opinion, and even developers can explain what the pros of using their software compared to stock if they so desire. I may be new to these forums, but I've been a part of the Android community since it's release so I don't appreciate being treated like a so called "noob" when if you calm down, sit back and think about it I have not broken any rules, and I posted it in Questions and Answers not the Development section so this is also the correct section.
To the other people who actually cared to share their opinion, thanks, and I think I'll give a few custom roms a go.

Nevertheless, you can compare your questions with other questions and answer them. Be it here or in other forums.
Because I do not think your question is "unique" and can not be answered with another question that has already been asked.
You must simply enter your title in Google and then you'll find massive pages, where the same or similar question has been answered.
Why I am so upset about it? I have already explained in my text.

This is not exactly a whats best rom post its asking is JB reliable enough to install; as its a not yet released firmware .Plus featureless lost .
Simple solution for whats the best rom posts is to report to a mod let them decide .
Personally i would not report this as its not a whats best rom post .
But OP i would actually wait for JB release from Samsung .

Personally i would not report this as its not a whats best rom post .
But OP i would actually wait for JB release from Samsung .

Then he should change the title. There may be discrepancies because of his title.
You have to admit that the title "Custom Rom or Not?" sounds like such a post

Its getting a bit off topic but i dont actually disagree with your viewpoint . Its just a complete waste of time forum is what its users are and their is no way around a general lowering of standards apart from the mods saying bang bang .I gave up a long long time ago and now ignore many posts .
OP not included in the above .

Thank you all, I appreciate the feedback and I will change the title.
I have decided I'll do a backup of my current software and just give a few roms a go can't hurt unless I brick it.

Try temasek's rom, it's fast and fluid and i rarely have launcher redraws. Google Now is suprisingly useful in all times.
Some people think they are mods, just report the threads instead of coming into every thread you think look useless lol.. Talk about waste of energy

I saw the thread closed. Someone can fill me with the details?
The dev has left xda but the rom will be updated at AFH

The dev has talent and a promising future (if you're reading this I mean it, you do good work) but he's a high school student and frequently leaves the site and abandons his projects. Definitely try out his stuff (he'll probably be back) if you like to switch around ROMs but don't expect a long supported ROM.
Oh thanks for the answer I was looking at his past message but that particular was removed.
I'm around. Closed for reasons I'd rather not get into (though some around here have mouths bigger than their hearts). The response I left was childish and doesn't belong here. I'll be back
Reason to be happy today!!
bump!
anyone have a mirror to the latest stable v3.3?
i wanna try it out... seems that removed from AFH
