Yes, the Polaris is compatible with microSDHC. I as well as many others are using 8GB microSDHC cards. Many people have asked this question, and its also listed in many online spec sheets as well as in the manual.
I can confirm the polaris WILL work with the MICRO SDHC because I'm using the 6gb SDHC. I heard it's capable of 32gb maximum.
16GB cards are on their way!
I am more interested in a MicroSD 8Gb Class 6 instead of 16Gb Class 4.
Polaris specs from HTC:
"Expansion Slot microSD™ memory card (SD 2.0 compatible)"
SD 2.0 = SDHC
Specification of SD define max 32GB
SDHC
Hi,
No problems, I use Sandisk 8GB microSDHC wit my Touch Cruise.
Yosi
I use a Sandisk 8g SDHC, class 4, and goes pretty well!!!
do have you view a real difference of speed (program run, take photo, Tomtom navigate) on a SDHC class 4 and a SDHC class 6 ?
(sorry for my english)

I haven't seen any Class6 of 8 Gb MicroSDHC (maybe there is no one??). If i'm right 16gb microsdhc will be available in stores only from december
I don't have experience with changing to a class 6 card, I do have changing from a none classed micro sd to a class 4 micro sdhc card.
I noticed a performance boost specially in loading tomtom.

there will be no ANY differrence betwen class4 and 6 in phone
huge difference will be visible only in data coping on computer using card reader
fast memory cards were doveloped for cameras and other devices with fast readers - our phones are far from this
view this link : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2590710#post2590710
The "class number" is for "speed write" and not "speed read".
An application that read data (map,photo,video...) on microSD class 4 or class 6 has same performance.
obviously sdhc class refer to write speed - that is definition
I just do not wite every time "write/read"
reading speed may increase, but it depends on card
it das not changing fact, that in HTC TC will be no visible difference betwen cards - but huge differnce will be in other devices
and yes, I did check it I have two Sandisk card - both read and write speed are different in my card readers (in both readers I have)
hi,what is different between class 4 class 6 of memory card?

Is a class 2 sandisk microsd card fast enough to store/view some media and such on it and have decent use with the Atrix?
I have a class 4, 4gb in right now, but I can get a good deal on a class 2 8gb card
This may help:

that all depends on your usage, some people might see it as too slow, but again it depends on how you feel about the phone read write slowdowns
I use a 16gb polaroid class 2 card i bought for $13.. no problem at all. Although some people might disagree.
I have patriot 16gb class 10, I paid it at 35 euros, speed is really fast 10 - 16mb/s
I have recently bought this Smartphone, and I am planning to change the original 8GB micro SD card with a 16GB micro SD. But I have no idea what class of memory which suitable for my Xperia Neo.
Should I buy class 2, 4, 6 or 10 ? Cos I don't want it effects on the phone's performance, if I choose the wrong class memory.
Can anyone help me please ? Thanks in advanced !
Im using A-data16gb class 10 in my Neo V ..satisfying solution fo less then 20 €
I got a class 4 32GB Icidu Microsd. It's pretty fast.
class less effects on the phone's performance.
class only determine read and write speed
get class4 for basic
if got budget get class 6 8 10
I bought a Xperia Mini pro SK17i a few days back. It came with a 2GB memory card. I want to upgrade to larger space.
Please tell me should I go for 16GB or 32GB one. Will there be any problems? I mean any slowing down or hanging etc. Also tell me what class of microSD should I buy?
Im using a Class6,32G card on my mini,i think it's fast enough.
It matters how much space you need. Class 4 and above is fast enough for the XMP, not it is just your choice how much space you need . Im using Class 4, 32GB SD Card and I haven't got any slow or problem with loading my music or pictures.
I'm on a 16gb class 6, no problem at all.

I have SanDisk 16GB, Class 4, works like a charm.

Go for a 32 GB one if you think you'll be able to utilise the space. If you pick a class 6 or 10 card you really shouldn't have any speed problems. Obviously a higher class card is faster - class 10 FTW!
Micro SD Card Suggestion
Well 16Gb or 32GB is based on your requirements
My suggestion would be 16GBclass 4 or 16GBclass 6
I am using 16GBclass 6 on my SE Live With Walkman and it has no problem
for me
Class are based on their speeds
Class2 -->2Mbs
Class4 -->4Mbs
Class6 -->6Mbs
Class8 -->8Mbs
Class10 -->10Mbs
Use "Crystalbenchmark" to test the read/write speed of your cards
First check the read/write speed of your 2GB sd card that came with
your device and this help you to differentiate speeds of different class
types

These are only minimal speeds, these can be higher.
I have Class 4, Sandisk, 16GB, Write is 8.7 MB/s, Read 28.9 MB/s.
There's a thread on this subject somewhere here.
What you need to consider as well is access speed.
Higher class cards transfer faster, but to do so, data has to be accessedfirst, and that takes longer with class 10 than class 2 for example.
That means, if you are goinf to work a lot with larger files, it pays you to get a high class, if on the other hand, you are going to onstall apps to work with small files a lot, it will actually slow you down.
Edit:
I've found it, anybody interested should look at the tests results

There is a very good review here.
Which is best 32GB memory card for Neo V..
n is the Phone fast with 32 GB card or getting Lagged??
i'm not getting any lag with my 8GB (class 4) card. 32GB will do good
Let me give you an advice.
To the best of my knowledge a 32 GB sd card will need more power to work which means it will draw more power.
Also it depends from whom are you gonna buy it?
Sandisk? (if it is sandisk then BUY IT)
Also at the store ask for its class.
Just something about classes.
A class 4 card IS always going to give you at least 4mb/s write speed.
Although this is not always true.. (i bough a Kingston class 4 16GB for 8.5 euro XD and it is working fine but it mostly runs with 3mb/s it is slow but it was the cheapest and bigger)
The higher the capacity of the sd the slower random read write speeds.
So if you are planing to move many apps on your sd i do not recommend anything class 10 like.
But if you mostly need it for gaming/music/movies then for CLASS 10
Oh and always but sd cards from the web they are way cheeper than from stores.
(my Kingston from a shop costs 16Euro -mostly like every card 1Gb=1euro)
Buy a card with a high speed class.
Take min. class 6 or class 10.
Buy a card from a well know manufacturer like kingston , San disk or Samsung.
I use a 16 gb Samsung class 10 and the write speed is fantastic. 12 mb/s.

The answe is yes and no.
What 32GB ?
A 32 gb class10 sandisk wont slow it down.
A 32GB CLASS 4 KINGSTON WILL SLOW IT DOWN
it depends on the cards class and company.
a kingston class 10 VS sandisk class 10
would lose sandisk creates very fast sd's
If you are willing to pay a lot of money then buy sandisk class 10
IT WILL BE EVEN FASTER THAN WHAT YOU HAVE.
It depends on everything!.
Also android doesnt use the full potentional of the sd card.
You will need to root your phone and use an sd booster app to unlock your cards MAX SPEEDS!
For 32gb class 10 is must. Otherwise video recording, playing HD videos etc will lag.
I use 8gb class 10.
toshiba 32gb class4 no lags so far
Exchange of files between the computer and the phone affects the importance of speed
Class 10 is a must. Im using imation 8gb card. Images and videos loads and saves faster cmpared to lower class.

I use this Samsung class10 32GB. http://tweakers.net/pricewatch/294822/samsung-microsdhc-32gb-class-10.html#tab:info
Previously used a transcend 16GB class4, the speed difference isn't that much, but you'll save a few minutes when making a CWM backup. (I went from 9 to 6 minutes).
But it was just €3 more than a class4 card, so worth the price.
My brother use Sandisk 32Gb class 4 for his MK16i (x.Pro)
Everything is working very well
