I was on the latest nightly build of CM7 with Clockwork Recovery. I wanted to try ICS Passion - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1362961
It said I needed this bootloader - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1117990
That said I needed to use Odin so I used this guide - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20666234#post20666234
I got into Download mode, and Odin recognized my phone and I tried to install the new Bootloader, then it said it "failed" and my phone's screen went from the download mode to a black screen. So I unplugged my phone and took out the battery and when I put it all in, I get this screen with a phone connected to a computer with the "!" sign inbetween. Nothing I do changes it. I need help, I need this phone for work. How do I fix this?
Thanks in advance. I know it's Christmas day, and I would really really appreciate anyone who would kindly give me some direction here.
ODIN should recognize your phone in the connect to computer screen, if you see a yellow COM in ODIN, you're good to go, flash back to stock.

I've tried V3 and V4 and ODIN still does not see my phone. Do you have a link to the latest version? Should I have my phone connected when I run ODIN? I've tried running it when it is connected, and when it's not, and then connect it after ODIN has started. Thanks in advance!

Try this.
1. Turn your phone off.
2. Take battery, sim, sdcard out.
3. Hold volume up & down buttons.
4. Connect usb without letting go of the buttons.
5. Put the battery in, without letting go of the buttons.
See if you can get to download mode that way.

Future reference for those who red this - when you flash a boot loader UNCHECK "AUTO REBOOT". That way if it fails you can just try again.
I always uncheck it, if successful just hold the power button for 10sec for reboot.

Hello.
I have a problem. Shortly:
I've installed a new rom, aAn's CM7mod, i think the v2.2, because i couldn't get the tethering work with the other rom. Okay, CWM recovery, install, reboot.. Then for one week was stuck at Sony Ericsson logo, i tried to take out the battery even for 2 days, everything, but still stucked.
Now i tried the flashtool, disconnect the phone, take out the battery, then put it back, press back button, connect usb, green led appears, 5 secs and the phone starts, exits the flashmod. So i cannot get into the flash mode, to make a recovery.
Pls give me advice. Thanks.

well, this would be my question. what can I do? cannot get in the flashmod more than 4-5 seconds, because the phone is starting, and getting stucked at SE logo.

Do you have the kernel you need for the ROM you flashed?
Anyway, if you start up PC Companion or SEUS with the phone disconnected and choose update, it will give you a repair option. choose that, select your phone-model, it will download the firmware for it and ask you to connect your phone flashmode. It doesn't need flashmode for very long, it will connect within a couple of seconds. once the popup-dialog disappears jsut leave your phone alone and you will be back on stock firmware.
Thanks will try that, than im comeing with the news..

You can try to enter flashmode by pressing HOME and POWER button at the same time, that will give it a hard reboot. As soon as the screen goes black (backlight off too), press the back-button. Do this with the usb-cable already attached to your phone and your pc. Ofcourse you do this only when flashtool or SEUS/PC Companion show you the popup to connect your phone in flashmode.
I had the same problem with my E10i, and that home+power than back b. combo helped! :good:
My cell was stucked on bootlogo, but in E10i (X10mini) you couln't pull out the battery just like that, so if you whant to SEUS repair your phone, you must have the phone turned of completly, but i couldn't do that. So i start SEUS whait till i get to the point when he whant your phone connected, then i press home+power button, managed somehow to plug in USB c. than press the back button and releas the home+power buttons. The rest is history...seus recognize the phone...download the files...and repair my phone.
Good luck mate! Try it! :fingers-crossed:
Okay, i've made it.
Shortly, the 1rst problem was the windows 8, ive reinstalld the 7th and SEUS on it, then easily selected the phonetype from the list, than holding back button, than connecting the cable, easy light clean install and thats it.
Thanks guys.
I hope this is in the right section, don't know as I am new to XDA.
But I have a real issue. Here goes.
I recently updated my Xperia S to ICS. And I thought I want to root it.
So I went ahead and started, but when I should have placed a zip file on my internal memory, I extracted the files there instead.
So no, on CWM, when I am supposed to install from .zip file, I can't, since I do not have .zip file there.
I have tried almost all of the options on CWM on the phone, nothing works and I just get back to the start.
So my question is, how do I get out of the loop?
Is there any way I can access my phones files? So I maybe can put the SuperSU .zip file in the directory?
I can boot the phone in fastboot mode, but then it doesn't show on the computer.
Or maybe I can just reverse everything? An easy way, because I am not the best when it comes to this. I have found some solutions, but they ALL require that you put files on your SD card. Only problem is that my phone doesn't have SD card, only internal memory. ANd I can't access that right now.
Please help
Download Flashtools from http://androxyde.github.com/
Download a stock ftf rom from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1599303
Put the downloaded rom in the flashtool/firmwares/ folder, then go to flashtool/drivers/ folder and run Flashtool-drivers.exe, when that has finished restart your computer.
Turn phone off, now press and hold the volume down button and connect the phone to your computer with the usb cable, when you get a green led you can let go, you are now in flash mode.
Start up flashtool, or flashtool64 if your on an x64 system, click the thunderbolt icon in the top left corner, select flashmode and click ok, in the left hand window select the rom you downloaded and then click ok in the bottom right corner.

Is your Bootloader unlocked?
Hello, I'm having the same problem too, but I wonder how do I "turn off" the device, since I keep pressing the top button to do this and it reboots and goes into CWM mode? Will I have to remove the battery?
Good news. Luckily I managed turn off the device. In the CWM main menu, keep the cursor positioned over the option that resets the device. Hold down the power button and immediately after, press the volume up and hold. Wait until the device vibrates 3 times. Now ready you run the procedure to connect in download mode and reinstall your firmware.
You guys must have used cmd to flash nozomi-recovery.img?
Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk 2
Yeah, exactly. I used recovery-nozomi.img with CWM version 5.5.0.4 ... but I made a mistake in not installing SuperSU.

That's why I hate nozomi - recovery.img!
Nothing to worry... Happened to me too.
Use flashtool to reflash entire ftf(if you have ulbl) else use SEUS to repair (if you have lbl, I hate pcc!).
If lbl.... Then ulbl.
Use cmd to flash a custom kernel(don't use doom kernel its for gb).
Finished....
Thank... If helpful

hmm
Had a similar problem.. FIxed it with a lot of reading but now dnt remeber anymore :/
I'm having this problem too...
Almost everything is ready for flashing now, except the phone is not really turning off, even after 3 vibrates when holding down power and volume up... It turns off, but coming back in flash process!
That's how far I can go: It turns off, I hold down volume down, connect it to PC, have a green light. Flashtool see the phone, I push Flash button,Program gives "Device connected in flash mode" message, then "Selected Xperia s (LT26i)_WORLD_6,1,A,2,50_IT.flf" message, "Preparing files for flashing" message and "Device disconnected" message, because this stupid Recovery back on my screen again...
If I just can find the way to turn off my phone, so it's not come back to live when connected to PC...

SOLVED!
I manage to fix it!
Just wait for Flashtool to give error message (with phone picture and USB cable in it) and ask to reconnect device. Unplug device, press power button and volume up button until vibrate 3 times. Push volume down and plug usb cable, to get green light. Flashtool continue process from where it was broken.
Error message popped up not from first try, so hopefully this will be helpful to somebody...

You wrong section!
Xperia P, U, Sola, Go Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
i was using some jelly bean sony rom by divaksh (it had cwm touch) and i wanted to try the new cm10.2 rom by munjeni
i downloaded the cm10.2, put it on my external sd card through a usb micro-sd reader and then put the µsd back in the phone
i selected "reboot to recovery" from the phone's power menu (i had an xposed module for more power menu options)
then i noticed that the phone didn't reboot, but it had turned off completely
i held the power button and the phone vibrated but didn't power on
it powered on on the second try, i then went to the cwm recovery by tapping the volume down key
(i was going to make a backup of the current system, but i forgot it lol)
i flashed the cm10.2 zip (cm10.2_pepper-ota-eng.root_Build.1.zip) without doing any wipes, because i wanted to get to the correct version of cwm recovery
(i would've properly done the wipes/formats from the cwm recovery that is in the cm10.2 kernel)
it finished flashing the zip and i rebooted my phone, but then it didn't power on anymore
now when i hold down the power button, the phone makes a short vibration but nothing else
.
if i plug the phone to a charger, the led lights up (red) for approximately a second and then turns off
if i hold down "volume-down" and the power button, the phone vibrates once and flashes the led (green)
i've tried going into flashmode and fastboot mode but the light doesn't stay on for long and sony mobile flasher doesn't even notice the phone even though the drivers are installed
the "hold down power button and vol-up"-thing also works but it doesn't seem to do anything else than vibrate
what should i do?

When I bricked my xperia p I flashed a custom kernel which allowed me to enter Cwm and then flashed the stock rom. I am new to this flashing thing so I recommend that you ask someone experienced what to do. I just shared my experience of recovering from a softbrick. Don't flash new things blindly but ask someone experienced before doing so.

Have you used flashtool to flash firmware before on that PC?
Have you installed flashtool and it's drivers (sola, flash & fastboot mode).?
Make sure the phobe is off, press power + volume up untill you feel 1 + 3 vibrations and see if it stay in flash mode longer.
Just Flash stock

Same problem here, I think that Munjeni's post is bad written.
Ok, I fixed it, follow my instructions as they goes. You have to flash the .img kernel that CM10.2.zip comes from.
For flashing it, go as follows...
First try to install the following drivers, with Flashtool. The executable is in C:\\Flashtool\drivers
Run as adminsitrator and follow screen instructions, allow any driver install.
When it's ready, try to plug in the phone in fastboot mode (turn off, hold power and vol up and release power button, led has to turn blue/violet/pink, whatever, a color like that)
Run flashtool.
Flashtool will recognize the phone as the log says, if its not try to install drivers mannually.
If it's recognized then click the black lightning button and select fast boot mode.
At the right side click "Select kernel to flash" and browse the kernel that comes in the .zip. (in the file you've downloaded you have to extract a boot.ini because is the main kernel to make the ROM work, so you have to put somewhere else, I prefer desktop)
When selected, log writes all the procedure until it show an "OKAY[time]" message.
Finally click "Reboot device into system" in the center side and wait until boots.
It should be working now, I spent a lot of hours investigating, but finally I fixed, hope it works for you too!
If there's an error or some question, feel free to post.

That was "the long run" for windows-guys.
For Linux - no drivers needed anyways - just download fastboot from anywhere and look for kernel. Put them in a personal directory. Open and run in a terminal (some have to be login as su) "fastboot flash boot kernel.img" (or whatever kernel is called...), plug phone in usb, while press and hold power and volume-up buttons. Blue LED comes shining and terminal tell you the flashing.
Unplug or type "fastboot reboot" to re-start phone.
Sure, you also can use FlashTool, too. But for only flashing a kernel it is not needed. Only for flashing stockrom ftf. But this is another story.

If I wrote for Windows 8 there will be more than that, believe me. Managing Android with Linux is a lot easier, from flashing to programming.
But, face it, Windows is the standard here.

Last night, i accidentally swiped to restore to an older ROM that i had. Not meaning to do this, and beginning to panic, i attempted to stop it, while it was still at 0%. I did this by holding the red button down. As i have now realised how stupid that was, i am wondering if there is any chance to fix it. It is now stuck on the Sony logo. Although i have seen many problems here, i cant find anyone that had the same problem as me. I was running the existenz ROM, and the ROM i was accidentally restoring to was the official ROM. I had the exact same problem, I created a guide to help other people with this problem. Here it is. I can't post links yet but if you want to have a look, search for this on google ( oneplus : Xperia z2 bricked help!! ) It's the first link ( fourms Oneplus Net )
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To get Sony's UI/ROM back:
Download and Install Flashtool from here.
Download a proper ( official ) ftf firmware for YOUR phone ( eg Sirius ).
Now copy the downloaded ftf firmware file to ( C:\Flashtool\firmwares )
Open the Flashtool and click on the little lightning rod and choose Flashmode.
Now a window will pop up and ask you to choose firmware for your device, Choose the one you downloaded and click flash.
--------Choosing a wrong one WILL further brick your device--------
Meanwhile, turn your phone completely off, To do this hold the Power button and the volume UP button until you feel your phone vibrate 3 times.
Flashtool will pop up saying you need to put your phone into flash/fastboot mode.
Now put it on fastboot/flash mode ( connect the usb to your computer and hold down the volume up button while plugging the other end to your phone. Your phone's LED should be blue at this stage.
The flashing process will start and once it's done, Flashtool will ask you to unplug the device and restart the phone.
The first boot takes 5-10 minutes.. CONGRATS YOU HAVE UN-BRICKED YOUR PHONE.
Now if you want to root your phone and install a custom recovery ( TWRP ), Download this package and extract it on your desktop
Make sure you have usb debugging turned on ( on your phone )
Navigate inside " to root" folder and run install.bat
Once thats done, to install recovery, navigate inside the " recovery folder " and run install.bat
Make sure to follow on-screen instructions. ( your computer and your phone )
Now you have Rooted sony ROM.
