Hey everybody.
I've been using custom roms for a while now, but when I install a new one I need to disable fast dormancy with *#*#9900#*#* and change my HSDPA version with *#*#301279#*#* in order to get usable data speed with my carrier.
On roms that don't allow secret codes, I usually just replaced the phone.apk and contacts.apk with the stock versions and all would be fine, but on my current ROM, AndyX 8.0, it doesn't allow me to do this. I replace the files, reboot and get com.android.phone" error messages, no matter what files I try. I've tried wiping dalvik cache and fixing permissions but nothing works. Worked fine up until version 7.2 of this ROM.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Use the matching apk files from the stock rom .

Thanks for the reply. Still no luck, though
EDIT
Nevermind, got it . I tried doing it via root explorer, fixing permissions, wiping cache, making my own CWM update .zip file. In the end, the only way it worked for me was replacing the files inside my ROM's full update package and flashing the whole thing again.
I cant open my messaging app..force close..how to gox this??
I try application manager>all>message>clear data but didnt work..

I'm on a rooted RAZR max on jelly whiz ROM rls7 and had no issues until yesterday...
My phone randomly rebooted itself and then half my apps and widgets were gone... Now every time I Try to install one I get 2 different error messages either install failed due to insufficient storage or error -24
I tried uninstalling market updates clearing data and removing my Google accounts and restring them... I've done that and fix permissions through safe strap as well as wipe cache and dalvik cache but am not having any luck.... anybody know what's going on here?

Maybe "Fix permissions" in "advance" in ss menu will help but i have doubts. Best thing to do is wipe and clean install rom again
I did a permissions fix through ss didn't do anything..... Someone must have a solution to this

I have recently had my messaging app stop working at each time i try to open it after i did a back up from titanium backup. I have tried using Go Sms Pro as a substitute and it receives and sends messages but i cannot see any of the messages after they have been sent or received. I have tried using different SecMms.apk files like others have said but have had no luck. Tried clearing cookies and date from application manager and restarting the phone but have had no luck. Is there anything that i can do to fix this issue?

Still not working after doing both of those
clear cache, data and force stop messagging app and then restart. if that doesn't work, make a factory reset and then install another rom.

Does the message actually send? If do the person your messaging, delete the whole chat with that person and try again, should fix it.

Good thing you're rooted..
You need Root Explorer (or any other app that will allow you to push an apk to the system)
and download this SecMms.apk i extracted from wanamlite's XXDLJ1 base ROM: http://www.mediafire.com/download/24cli92xvlvpjd6/SecMms.apk
1 Put the SecMms.apk file on your SD Card
2 Open Root Explorer
3 Locate the SecMms.apk you downloaded
4 Long press the app and click Copy
5 Go to system/app/
6 Tick rw on the upper right
7 Click Paste
8 REBOOT
