I am running AOKP Paranoid build ROM right now, obviously rooted and stuff.
But I want to run the latest official ROM, with with everything basicly STOCK.
I want to know how can I go on doing this? There isnt any STOCK rooted build of last nights official ROM on here.

So there has been a lack of relevant threads that explain my topic issue for me so I have decided to make one for myself and for others in the event that this happens. So right now I am using RemICS-UX 4.0.4 but I wanted to use Eng-matts ergybit 2.3 rom, because I am traveling and I need video calling from skype, but when I tried to flash this rom with odin, instal via cwm it goes into a bootloop. I also tried to flash Ruebens Lewa os since it uses gingerbread as a base, then I tried to acquire the ROM again but I git a bootloop. Sadly I didnt back up my stock rom, so I'm trying to find away to get back to the stock rom so I can fladh eng matts rom again.
So if anyone has anyway for me to get to my stock rom please help
My device is the sgp 5.0 international

You need to install rj kernel if you have an intl device and entropy kernel for usa device . After you install the kernel you can flash erygit rom. Just replace the kernel

maybe you should flash the rom again with cwm and if you get a bootloop just reset factory/cache works for me : )
Go into CWM Recovery (if possible) and flash rumirand r14 kernel and flash a new ROM.
Suggestion: Next time flash a ROM via CWM Recovery, ODIN flashing is easier to brick than CWM, CWM is very safe and you can always reset the bootmode if you're stuck somewhere!

I just picked up a second SGS2 for my wife. She does not care about a bunch of custom stuff on her phone. She wants it to "just work right" as she puts it. I do however want to root it for the purposes of CWM rom backup and app backup. My question is, will the genuine update of ICS automatically bring the brick bug with it if I update OTA or through kies? I know I need a different kernel for cwm etc. Looks like maybe I want the stock rom from the Semi16 thread?

That's the way I would go.
Stock ICS UCLE5 with a custom kernel is an option. Stock Gingerbread with a custom kernel is another option. If you root and install a custom kernel, the phone will not update automatically, since it will not have the stock kernel.
My son's phone is still stock Gingerbread 2.3.4 with Entropy512's daily driver kernel which I installed for him way back in December.
Hi all sorry I'm new to this,
So my friend gave me his used Samsung Fascinate and told me its already rooted, has a custom ROM, and CWM Red. I've confirmed the CWM Red All. How do I tell what ROM I'm using? I need to install PDroid but it requires me to patch my ROM file.

Also how do I got about patching the ROM file? Do I just use the Pdroid patch file, and patch the ROM file, then reflash with Odin?
I've only used aokp and blackbean, but it would tell me in about phone. I think the rom you are running is based on gingerbread, I started flashing with ics, so I don't know what roms were gingerbread based. I would follow droidstyle's guide and flash something newer. The latest paranoidandroid is jellybean based (4.1.2) and it will be much faster. Odin is mostly used to flash your phone back to stock, so it would normally be the first step.

If all else fails you could download the ota updater program

It may or may not have a new ROM,,, but it should tell you what you have

Hey All,
Im considering switching back to a Stock 4.3 ROM from www.samsung-updates.com to my Samsung Galaxy S3 i-9300 they have a international rom for Great Britain which i think will work fine for my phone, Im currently running a SLIMROM of 4.4.2 with Touch CWM..
I personally dont care about the counter and odin flashing, really need to know if these .zips are flashable with CWM and if i can maintain my CWM recovery because i might wanna switch back to slimrom or another if its not as fast or slick as Slimroms seem to be..

Flash stock rom via Odin ,then flash a custom Rec ，finally restore your old rom

How about enjoying both worlds by using CWM based custom rom? The same good-old samsung UI with several major improvements.

I am currently running jellybeans ver21 on android 4.1.2. Can I just use odin and upgrade the MJ9 firmware then wipe and load new roms using the newest firmware or do I have to go back to stock first?

From what I read (because I have the MJ9), having 4.1.2 with MJ9 can either cause messy problems with some apps and sms/mms/calls/data/etc. or works perfectly fine (usually when you flash a custom ROM).
I haven't done it myself but you're more than welcome to do a complete backup of everything on your phone and flash MJ9.

I went from 4.1.2 and Beans 22. I flashed mj9 with Odin, booted immediately in to recovery and then flashed Alliance 26. It's working perfectly.
