Xperia Neo CMW

Hi dears!
I would like to know if I can install and Custom rom or a kernel to overlock my Xperia Neo, with CMW and locked bootloader.
Thanks for your time guys
Kind Regards,
Ghafit
you can install a custom rom(rom should be converted to recovery image file) , but kernel cannot be installed on locked bootloader...
so, with stock kernel for example, can I install CM7, do you recommend that to me?
Nope, don't try that... you need a custom kernel for CM7 or MIUI roms.
and there aren't anymore nice custom roms with stock kernel?

NOTE : it is not the problem of rom , works perfectly on unlocked BL

Kernels are included in custom roms. You can flash a different kernel if you want
Try this:
ROM: Nightly#15+
KERNEL: Thachtunganh kernel
RECOVERY: Amonra 3.06
Search it in this thread..

Recovery: Clockworkmod
ROM: CM7 Nightly
Kernel: already included in nightly...

Thanks I'll wait for ICS.
in my opinion root is worthed to optimize stock ROM, delete some bloatware and get more free RAM
but custom rom is not stabilize yet, I prefer using stock ROM with some customization

[Q]custom kernel

Hi guys,
Someone can explain me why i should flash/install a custom kernel? Which benefits i should gain? Flashing a custom kernel delete my data? Or is like a software update ?
I need a custom rom to flash a custom kernel ? Or is the stock rom ok?
Is better a module's kernel o a unique kernel?
Hope someone can answer
Thank you

Kernel is the kind of mediator which talk between your OS and Hardware...
So changing Kernel do not change the OS,
Different Kernel gives different advantages, that is why you need to update Kernel.
A kernel module is an addition rip a kernel that sits in /system/lib and does something...

You can gain more speed, governors and I/O schedulers.
No, nothing will happen your data. You can experience bootloops if the your rom is not compatible with the kernel.
V2 kernel is compatible with stock rom and with several custom roms.

Ok, so i could install flar2's kernel module safely? without the risk that involve flashing New roms?
That because my stock rom have kernel version 3.0.21-g6c11713 , right?
In this way i should gain possibility of write in /system .. correct me if i have misunderstood
Thank you

You can use custom roms based on stock firmwares, no custom kernels or cm based roms I'm afraid

So how would I know if it's based on stock firmware? Never had a sony before so basically I get twrp or clockwork recovery and install the rom?

It will state in the rom thread, romaur and monxified are both based on stock
Whichever rom you go with there will be instructions on how to load it on a locked bootloader in the first post
