I bought my xperia on contract from Orange and have flashed an ics rom.
Does anyone know if it's unlocked or locked?

if you bought it from Orange it will probably be locked bootloader.
Type *#*#7378423#*#* in the dial pad, then go to "Service Info" -> "Configuration" and see the "rooting status"-

Followed your instructions and under Rooting status it says
'Bootloader unlock allowed:Yes'
If it makes any difference I actually purchased the phone from Phones4u
I'm talking about the network lock though, I'm wondering if a 3 SIM would work in this phone?
for Network lock check the SIM lock menu inside service info. If you have unlockable bootloader you'll probably don't have sim lock

Yeah under SIM Lock is has 0 for all of the different headings, presuming that's unlocked right?

I got my S2 through my carrier (Telenor Sweden), who told me early batches would be unlocked as they were still finalising how to lock it. It does indeed accept other SIMs just fine. As I understand there are four methods an S2 can be locked however:
1. [NCK] Network lock
2. [SCK] Subset lock
3. [SPCK] SP lock
4. [MCK]
How do I verify if my phone is locked in any of these ways? No sure what they entail to be honest.
Thanks!

Np. Did you have similar circumstances to mine?
=D thanks thanks for the tip. all off here too!
"Personalizatiob Status"?
Is it only me who's seeing "Personalizatiob" on the SIMlock status screen? FW version KE7. Can anyone report a text fix on a different version?
Mine says that is all off, but when I put a SIM from another carrier doesn't work!

What carrier is that? Remember that the phone has to support the type of network as well.
Hi there,
Know this post is a little old but think my brain may explode!
I have a SGS2 and trying to sim unlock it. I have put in this code *#7465625* and says its all unlocked. Thing is it wont pick up the o2 service at all. I tried the unlocking apps and nothing was found or said phone was unlocked. If I make a call says 'Mobile network not available'.
It picks up the o2 APN settings which are all correct I believe, hope someone can help
2nd day of searching but the search still goes on for the answer! (lucky me! lol)
OK if anyone else has this problem might be worth looking into wether the IMEI has been blacklisted mine has!
I used a website called checkmend cost me £1.99 but soooo worth it!
Hopefully shouldn't be a problem returning it to CEX!!!
I have checked my phone, and it says that it is unlocked, everything is [OFF]. Yet when I put another SIM in, the phone won't accept it? How do I know if my phone supports another SIM card or not?
Quick question. I was online paying my bill this morning, and I saw a link under my device that was labeled Sim Unlock. I clicked the link and it gave me a pin and unblock code. Is there anywhere on the device, possibly in the settings that would allow me to put this code in for unlocking the SIM slot?
I was under the impression these were SIM unlocked from the factory.

I was under the impression that it was a reset in case someone accidently got locked out of there sim and was not to enable other carriers (could be wrong however)

That sim unlocking is you security pin and puk codes if you have password on your sim card/4G sim. It has nothing to do with global /gsm Sims.

Hi everyone,
Everytime I open the phone I'm asked to enter a Sim network unlock PIN.
At first I talked with my carrier, which tried to give me few PINs to unlock the network lock, but none of them worked.
After reading a while on the internet (and also as it says on the box) I suspected that this is about the Region Lock samsung implemented in it's new devices.
I bought my device in Europe (and well, I don't live in Europe).
I talked with the shop I bought the device from just to make sure the device is not sim locked, and they claim that they indeed sell only sim free devices, so I turned to Samsung.
After talking with Samsung in the country I bought the device, I was given an unlock PIN, but unfortunately, it doesn't work.
Do you have any idea what could it possibly be?
Maybe I tried too many times wrong PINs and the network is locked now? Don't know already....
P.S.
All the phone features works fine (if I go out of the screen with the PIN request), except for mobile internet and calls of course.
Images attached below.
They claim wrong that my friend is sim locked & you will need to find out what carrier its locked to, that carrier will have specific codes.
At least that is my understanding.

Thanks, but based on what info are you so sure?
I talked with the shop again and they INSIST their devices are sim free.
I need to have some kind of proof to argue that.
And also, I'd like to hear more opinions please...
BUMP - any ideas please?
Have the shop were you bought it from replace the phone or you can call the carrier that the phone is lock to and request the unlock code. It should be very easy to determine that by firmware build number (For example: G925P is Sprint)

Just confirmed it's a G925F... so it's not sim locked, as the shop stated.
This phone is simlocked to a network. You need to find out what network it is locked to then get a unlock code.
Once you enter an unlock code it will be unlocked to all network....

Ebay is a cheap place to get unlock code but you NEED to know the original network

Why can't it be? that is a model number for UK handset but it doesn't mean anything else. All UK and europe (also middle east) models are G925F , some are network locked and some are not.
Accept it and do something about it. Ask for refund or ask the seller to get you unlock code.

Ok thanks. Thought all G925F are sim unlocked and cannot be locked...
Is there a way to tell the network it's locked to? (because I know what the shop is going to say: "no, its not unlocked so we dont know the network...")
Not sure, try GalaxSim Unlock from the play store. It might tell you

Doesnt seem to support S6.
Regional Lock
Your phone is regionally locked., which means you should unlock it with a Europian SIM card before using in an other country.

What you need to do is check with the shop where the phone came from? Which country the phone was bought. Once you know that you can try different sims (they are freely available from providers or ask your friends). The unlock code is a combination of Phone IMEI number and the network so you need that information.
Let me know how you get on...
Hi
I'm in the UK and have just got a used g5 h850. It came with a Vodafone sim in and i was told it was unlocked.
The Vodafone sim doesn't register ( no network) and neither will my tesco or giffgaff sim.

I've installed an app from playstore called lg phone info.
That says it's on EE.
When it's been sat on the side for a bit and I turn it on, it says network locked at the top left of the screen.
I take it this means it's locked to ee still.
Is there any way of finding out if it's had to many codes entered and is permanently locked?

Hi there ,by many reasons I wasn't able to upgrade my phone this year but I am tempted into buying one lg v60 .
I would like to know if this phones when come from tmobile still having the tmobile unlock app ,since it's the easiest way to unlock them when purchased in full .
Hope someone can help me ,thanks
My Tmobile V60 does not have the unlock app
I have not seen the device unlock app in a while. My past 2 phones I've had to log into the T-Mobile app and unlock through there.
Go to settings/Network & internet/mobile networks/network unlock
You don't need the app anymore. In the settings there is an option to request unlock, mine unlocked in less than 30 seconds after it was paid off

Does this apply to Sprint also? Do I have to be connected to the network for this to work or does it work via wifi?
Where do go to unlock the v60 for root?
