Hello,
I have a question about product codes:
I have a Lumia 800 phone, which originally had the product code 059M3C1 (TIM IT).
I have downloaded with DPM the firmware "Nokia 800 RM-801 Country Variant RO Black V3" with product code 059P1Z4.
I have flashed with NCS Recovery (this is how: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1457341) but now, in NCS i get 2 values for the product code, as shown in the attached screenshot.
I don't know why the "Basic product code" was changed to 059J2N6. I coudn't find this version in DPM.
Can somebody plese tell me why this 2 product codes appear in NCS? How can i change the product code correctly to 059P1Z4?
Thank you.

Yes, but the phone has since been flashed with it's original firmware again using NCS.
I can also not find any information on my basic product code. I do not know what the basic product code even does, as the regular one is what is used for update eligibility, etc. The fact that the two are similar but not the same makes me think it should be this way (at least in my case).
Removed PIC. See below.

No idea. I tried to check mine, but NCS can't read my product code from my phone. Maybe because I'm using Windows 8 Customer Preview. (There are any other wierd things as well in NCS. ) But I Googled your Product Code, and hasn't found anything about It! There is no region connected to that, but some of other users has the same case, that you have. Does It affect anything?

The regular product coded that is listed (059N599) is as it should be for Canadian Telus cyan model. Never had any troubles updating via Zune, etc. My father has the same phone but US country variant model, so I will connect his to the computer when he gets home and see if it is the same case.
Well here is a comparison. My dad's phone on the right has never had the firmware re-flashed, and has only been updated through Zune. So apparently it is normal for the product codes to be different.

Hi guyz,
I have a Nokia Lumia 800 with me of UK region and I dont mean just software wise. The actual phone was shipped from UK and the product code is 059J3G0
Now I reside in India and due to this region differences many of the features dont work especially USSD which is proving problematic since its difficult to even check my balance.
So is it possible to change my firmware to Indian version?
Thanks.
Possible very much, infact I have updated to the latest UK firmware, but will flash it back to the original White Lumia 800 firmware

Yes you can
1) goto seidea[dot]com and start off by downloading the Nokia Care Suit and Data Package Manager.
2) After installation of both also install the WinUSB driver from C:\Program Files\Nokia\Nokia Care Suite\Drivers or C:\Program Files(x86)\Nokia\Nokia Care Suite\Drivers
3) Connect your phone with the Nokia Support Tool for Store open, this programme will have a launcher in the main Nokia Care Suite, and should have detected your phone, disconnect cable, this might restart your phone, this is normal.
4) Next fire up the Data Package Manager and search for RM-801 in product type, this will return a bunch of different variations of the firmware. In the cell below Name type India and download any of the firmwares you want, possibly to match the colour of your phone as well.
5) After download fire up the Nokia Support Tool for Store, change it to offline mode at bottom right, or simply disconnect from the Internet, from the file menu, select Open Product and select product RM-801
6) From the bottom left pane, select Programming and then Recovery and select the new firmware you just finished downloading.
7) Flashing should take 5-7 minutes and leave the phone un-attended. Voila
Again I take no responsibility for any dammage to your phone, and you may download and flash any firmware from the entire list under RM-801 should not be a problem.
Additionally you may also want to take a backup from WP7 Easy Backup, google it or search the forums for it.
regards
Prateek
mohib.sheth,
no problems at all, i´m from Brazil and i updated to test Tango one from Mexico and another from UK, both worked like a charm.
U can follow this thread if u have any issues, like dead phone, errors or different Product Code

or simple follow the original one Tango:
New update !! Rm801_059q201_1750.0805.8773.12220_002 thanks to surya467
Thank you so much lohiaprateek and xpc21 for the steps.
Another query is If I do flash to India firmware, will I get update from regular Zune or I will need to keep flashing to the latest firmware manually?
Zune should prompt the update ideally..

USSD is not supported (fully) in Windows Phone so as far as that goes changing to an Indian FW will not make any difference.

Hi, I've had this doubt for a long time, and I'd be glad if someone could give me a couple of quick answer. What does the CSC affect, and what does changing it do?
Right now using CheckFus it says my CSC is i9300UUBBLG2, and after doing a quick google search, it appears to be from Mexico or Trinidad&Tobago. Being from neither, why does my phone have that CSC? Just by chance?
Also, being in a country where all phones are carrier-unlocked, would changing the CSC to a specific one benefit me? Would having any in particular be better?
Thanks!
At the time of purchase, the phone comes with a certain firmware installed and a certain product code.. When looking for an update with Kies, you are proposed an update only under two conditions: first, the trio PDA-MODEM-CSC must correspond to a firmware officially released for your product code; moreover, it must be available an update for your same product code. CSC (Country Sale Code),
If you install with Odin a firmware different from those that Kies would allow you to install, you're changing the product code. If the firmware that installs and however journal, Kies will continue to suggest updates (if available) but linked to the new product code.
In this way, however, make void the warranty: this is in fact linked to your IMEI, connected to a certain product code at the time of sale.
The CSC is not the same thing as the product code, but similar: the CSC is that part of the firmware that contains customizations (preinstalled applications, icons, sfond .To change CSC uses this application https://play.google.com/store/apps/...sgscsc&feature=nav_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDNd
CSC is the consumer software customisation and is specific to geographical region and carriers. It contains the software packages specific to that region, carrier branding and also APN settings for data connection, MMS etc for your service provider.
CSC has nothing to do with what languages the firmware supports and it will not add keyboard language support either.
Its not an update code nor is it actually required to operate the phone .
CSC is part of the codes that are presented to Kies if you use the official update path . Part of not the whole code required to match to an update .
Kies has nothing to do with the IMEI code .

Several months ago, I followed the process many on these forums did of developer unlocking my Nokia Lumia 920 via the Canada Rogers ROM. For a while it was great, but I would like to now return it to the AT&T ROM, as all the updates I believe are caught up. Some of my apps, including some Nokia ones, seem to not play well with this developer ROM, and my WiFi is hit or miss at home now, possibly due to this ROM. Is there any way to un-developer unlock my phone?

What is you Hardware Product Code?
The Hardware Product Code is generally inscribed physically on/in the drawer of the SIM card or on/in one MicroSD card), 059.......
I wasn't able to find any numbers on my SIM tray, and my phone is a Nokia Lumia 920, so I do not have a Micro SD slot. Is there any other way to find this number? I was also unable to find it in the "About Phone" section under Settings.

Extra+info:
Value of Manufacturer Name?
RM-820_nam_canada_246

I was wrong, the value is that of the current rom, not the Hardware Product Code. But it does not matter.
Normally your Hardware Product Code is ATT U.S.
So just re-flash the present Hardware Product Code, with Nokia Software Recovery Tool ou Nokia Care Suite (Software Updater Module !).
Nokia Software Recovery Tool does not recognize my phone. If I connect my phone after opening the program, it says it was unable to connect with my phone. If I select that my phone is unresponsive, it asks that I reset the phone via VolDown and Power, and try again. This also does not work. Is the Other option, Nokia Care Suite, my only option? It seems intimidating, but I can try it.

For Nokia Care Suite, you have two options:
- Either you do not fully follow the tutorial and you go directly to the Software Updater module.
- Either you fully follow the tutorial (in having taken the right Product Type and the right Product Code).
There isn't a way to do it, I've tried flashing pre and post portico ATT roms, but once you flash a Rogers RM-820_nam_canada_246 you're stuck with it.
I have not however, after moving to 8.1 tried any of the new roms, or know if they are available, but might be worth a try.
OK assuming Etaduck is right, and I have no way of returning to AT&T's ROM, what am I missing out on?

Hi all,
I have a UK GT - i 9300 locked to Orange and i have just been signed up to EE.
EE claim the phone is already unlocked.....it isn't. They failed to provide a SIM unlock code, so i went to a third party (computer shop) to get the code. They provided an unlock code, and an unfreeze code. They don't work. It just says "registration code unsuccessful" or something similar when i try to put it in upon booting up the device. The guy at the shop is now at a loose end and is happy to refund the unlock code fee, but says he cannot unlock the phone.
I have tried the codes that start with #1972.... to enter the hidden menus, i actually had to enter #0011# i think....regardless, that didn't work as under network options (or whatever it was called) i have no option to tell the phone to allow other sims.
I mention all of this because please believe me when i tell you there is not a simple solution to unlocking this phone....i have read pages and pages of forum advice and nothing works.
My very specific question is; can i root this network locked GT i9300 (UK version) which is currently running on 4.3....or not? It is the only possible solution i can see to save this phone from becoming a paperweight.
I can promise you that hours upon hours of research has not got me a sensible, definitive answer to this question.
Thanks guys. Much appreciated.
Paul
It doesn't matter if the phone is SIM-unlocked or not when you root it. If i can find a stock ROM for the i9300, or if it is 4.1.1 or 4.1.2 with the old bootloader, it is unlockable for free. http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/help-i9305/guide-sim-unlock-i9305-t3267901 this is the thread, tell me if you want me to find a stock ROM and i will try to make it zip-flashable.

Thank you for your reply.
Unfortunately after nobody responded yesterday i decided to flash the phone back to an Orange UK version of 4.0.4 and see if the Galaxsim unlock program worked from there. It has now given my phone the generic IMEI number 004999010640000 and Galasim is just saying "UNABLE TO READ NV DATA"
I've tried the method of changing the nv data bin files, and it doesn't work.
I have no backup of my original efs folder.
The bottom line here is that i have been going round in circles with this pile of sh1t service from Orange and EE, and codes that don't work for over a month now. I mean no offence by asking this bluntly, but can someone just give me a simple yes or no answer as to whether i need to buy a new phone or not?
It seems everyone has a theory on how to unlock this phone, and none of those theories actually work.
Currently phone is sat on
Android version - 4.0.4,
Product code - GT-I9300RWDORA
Original Product Code - ORA
IMEI NUMBER - 004999010640000/01
Sim Operator - EE(23433)
Registered Operator - @[email protected]
OS version - 4.0.4 (15)
Baseband - i9300BVLE4
Bootloader - I9300XXUGNB5
Patform - exynos4
LOCKED TO ORANGE.
Some simple instructions on how to fix this, or an honest answer as to if it is even possible would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks
hi guys,
i am in a bit of a trouble as after waiting for a long time for MM to be released for honor 5x in my country Pakistan but there wasn't any thing to hope for so i decided to flash manually and choose a MM file but when i put the update.app in dload folder and attempted to force flash it came back with update failed error after some reading on xda and other forums i found out that the update package was not of my region, it was European with with Denmark association. so i changed my region to mts/by (Belarus) and modified the custom.bin file in accord thinking that i would change the region back to Pakistan after up-gradation (poor me ). the update process then went smoothly and my 5x rebooted but right after that some thing strange happened.
the boot screen went green with red and blue boxes and i was frightened that i might bricked my device but after some time it shows the honor logo and setup process started.
secondly my sim card seemed to be not registered and required puk code. i dismissed the message and went on with the process. now my sim is not registering with the network.
also there is a massive battery drain even i didn't install any app.
the overall look and feel is not changed very much and also the performance is laggy.
Thing is that now i wanted to downgrade it to lollipop. and totally clueless what to do here.
i tried (Honor 5X_Firmware_KIW-L21_Android 5.1_EMUI 3.1_C432B140_United Kingdom_Channel-Others ) by putting update.app and force flashing it but the update got stuck a 5% and after 10 to 15 minutes it restarts.
please help me out, i am totally confused here
Edit: my device model is KIW-L21 but after upgradation to MM it changed to KIW-AL10.
Build number is KIW-L21C432B330
Attached is the device information.

I have tried to look for an MM for middle East but could not find it. The only solution for you imho is to flash MM for middle east.
Another way is to unlock bootloader and manually downgrade to emui 5.1 by flashing image files.

Well thank you but please elaborate. What do you mean by change my phone to original specification?? Are you referring to change my region or any thing else? Idk how to change region on MM and my device is not rooted. I tried to unlock its bootloader but the captcha code is not appearing in emui english website. I also tried the chinese web but it is not accepting my entered captcha saying i have not entered correct code. I tried many times but this whole unlock thing is driving me crazy. I used three different laptops, three different browsers and also tried it on mobile browser but the same thing happened again and again.
So whats your opinion in this matter, and please forgive my noobness

First of all, you are not a noob buddy. Only experienced users try this stuff. The problem is that Huawei/emui is easily messed up. Well, we learn from our mistakes.
I meant, you should change the region back to middle east. I never tried to change the region of my phones so can not help you there. Sorry for that...
The captcha code problem is faced by tons of users and everybody takes a different approach to solve it. I used Microsoft edge on win10 and never faced the captcha problem. You can mail Huawei customer care with serial, IMEI and device id and state that you are facing captcha problem. May be they will provide you the code.
If you can not change the region then alas! You are in more trouble than I thought.
I am on limited mobile data these days, if that was not the case, I would have downloaded a transition package for any other Huawei device (preferably honor6 or 7 as these are my devices) and would have used Huawei update extractor to see what partitions are they flashing for a rollback.
(Advised by DigiGoon to do this)
That would have allowed me to specify which partitions you should flash to rollback to LP to change your region again but that's all wishful thinking for the time being.
By the way, did you edit build.prop to change region?

If it goes well, root, change region and flash middle Eastern MM.

Well, to get your original device id, head to the thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-7/general/bricked-honor-7-honor-6-id-t3468333/page1
I apologize for KitKat instead of LP. My bad, I should have checked in detail.
Try to unlock bootloader and root the device as i am running out of options until the region is back and as for IMEI, head to
http://forum.xda-developers.com/canvas-a1/general/fix-imei-perfect-fix-android-imei-t2943567
And make sure the file you are using is the one you downloaded for your specific model.
Hope, any of this helps you.
What about battery drain and lags? If they disappeared and firmware is working fine, may be just restoring IMEI would be enough.

First of all thanks for your continued and kind assistance.
The thread you mentioned for imei is for mtk users only.
And yes i got my device id and the unlock code too but when i tried to unlock the boot-loader the command came back with wrong unlock code and failed.
i think my phone internal specification (imei and model number is missing) which i changed somehow and unintentionally is causing the problem. i tried but couldn't find any method for Qcom imei changing.
battery now is not draining like before but lag is still there.
So despite all your help(which i deeply appreciate), i am back to square one.

You may wish to have a look at the following page:
search the web for "Huawei Bricked phone repair guide with DC Phoenix" (sorry for not posting the link as I'm not sure it's allowed by these forums)
It's something that I haven't tried myself, but on that page, if you look at Method 2 Step 3, they're describing a possible (paid) solution to restore your missing details. I should caution the following though:
1. My antivirus flags the link in Method 2, Step 3 as UNSAFE, that could be because of what it does (changing IMEI, etc...) or maybe because the linked page/software is actually unsafe. You should exercise your own judgement there.
2. It's a paid solution
3. You may have to go through all the described steps before you attempt to repair your IMEI and other attributes.
I have used method 2 to un-brick an Ascend Mate 7 successfully, but that device had not lost its IMEI in the process, so I did not have to go through step 3 (paid 15 Euros for DC-Unlocker credits to flash the site's own recovery, nothing else I had tried would work).
The alternative would be, as other members have suggested, is to take it to a service center if that is an option for you. Hopefully someone here can suggest a better (and free) solution that you can apply directly instead of the above.
