Problem answering calls, workaround? - Galaxy S III Q&A, (US Carriers)

When im at work I keep my phone in my pocket. When it rings the screen turns on and sometimes I have gone in to get the phone and accidentally ended/refused the call in the process....is there a way I can keep the screen off when the phone starts ringing...then come one once I touch the screen or press a button?

Verizon Touch Pro Lock during phone call

Hello, I have been looking all day to find out how to lock the screen during a call.
I keep getting random things happening when I am calling… Hanging up, calling someone else, programs running… etc… Hanging up is the most common for me.
I would like to have the screen lock when connected but have the hardware keys still active so I can end the call. But I also need to be able to get to the keypad and other areas when on a call, but I would like to have to unlock the screen first.
Thanks!
Have you tried hitting the power button on top to turn off the screen during a call? then if you need to get to something you tap the power button again to turn on the screen again. Simple, effective.
That solution does not work with a bluetooth headset. When you disconnect your call via headset, the screen comes on even if the power button has been pressed.
I have S2U2, but I can't figure out if there's a way around this 'feature.'
You should try Throttle Lock. It locks the phone very well.

Screen input delay after moving away from face

Ok, so lately I've noticed when I've had to call a few numbers that need me to Press 1, 2, 3 etc on the dialpad that I can't do it right away. When I put the phone to my ear, as I would expect the screen switches itself off. When I pull the phone away from my face the screen comes on again immediately, but there's about a 5-7 second delay before I can actually press anything. In those seconds after the screen comes on, it wont accept any touch input whatsoever. It's not delayed, presses I make during those seconds just aren't registered at all, then suddenly it begins accepting input as normal. It isn't just number keys either, it's the entire screen, so I can't press End Call until nearly 10 seconds after I've actually pulled the phone away from my face, nor can I move the phone away and press the Speaker Phone button quickly.
This only happens when the screen comes on after being against my face though. If the screen is just turned off and I press the power button, or double tap to wake, it accepts input immediately, so I don't believe it's a hardware problem.
Currently running 4.4.4 rooted, image was made from stock and pre-rooted prior to being flashed onto the phone.
Has anyone else experienced this issue?
yeah i've experienced this as well. doesn't happen on speaker though.
No, doesn't happen on speaker phone. If the screen goes off from that and I turn it back on then the screen responds immediately. It only seems to happen in cases where the screen auto shuts off due to it detecting that it's against your face.

Can't answer phone Galaxy S9+

When it rings the 2 buttons come up on the phone. I swipe the answer button and it goes to the screen it's supposed to but keeps saying incoming call and I can't answer it. I swipe it back and then this screen shows up. I can't end the call or go back to the home screen until I click on the thing at the bottom that says send message - where did that come from I didn't put it there I don't want it there and before that was there I could answer my calls. When the whole mess is over with it says I rejected the call. And naturally I can't upload my screen shots HELP!

Stock Dialer/Phone app LOCK/Speaker Phone

The Basics:
Device Samsung Galaxy Tab A SM-T295 8.0 android 9
I have actually two sort of related problems.
First is that, when call comes in, even though this thing is really to big too hold up to your ear, the call doesn't automatically default to SPEAKER. There is a button that needs to be touch AFTER the call is answered to put it into speaker mode.
The second issue is that, as soon as you answer the call, a lock screen requiring a double tap to open comes on keeping you from getting to the speaker button. In another place I read that this lock screen in intended to keep you from inadvertently dialing or hanging up and such when holding the phone to the ear.
This lock screen has about a one second timer on it so getting to the button is very tricky.
This lock screen makes it all but impossible to be on a call and set up a second call to make a three way. I don't do this very often so it isn't that big a deal.
The ideal solution for me would be to get the device to default to speaker phone on every call.
The secondary solution would be to disable that lock screen so I could immediately hit the speaker phone button as soon as I answer the call rather than have to answer the call, double tap to unlock, and scramble to hit the speaker phone button before it locked again.
Since I have already tried and failed to be able to get in to change the SMS limit, solutions that require the same kinds of actions probably are no good.
I a wondering if there is a replacement Dialer/Phone/Contacts APP that might solve the problem??

Note 4 - How to stop screen from displaying/unlocking during & after notifications &
Hi all.
Two problems here which I'm presuming have the same fix.
1) This happens when I'm using the phone, say, listening to music via Bluetooth headset. When I receive a message or email, the screen will automatically light up to the unlock screen showing a notification pop up that I have a message. Because the phone is in my pocket and the screen is swipe unlocked, which I prefer, it is highly likely that the phone will unlock fully - so by the time I look at the phone it's done all sorts of things I didn't want.
2) When answering a phone call, the screen obviously lights up as normal. I have set it up so that when the phone is upright the screen will go blank. But, when I have finished a call using the headset, the screen comes back on again and shows the contact and because the phone is unlocked it ends up doing things I didn't want.
Please can someone tell me how to keep the screen off during and after a phone call or notification!
Is there a code to write or delete that can make it so that when I receive a phone call or notification I must press the power button to display the screen like I normally do to see the time?
Any assistance is very much appreciated!
Thanks
