[Question] How To Fix Wi-Fi Drop Issue?

The Wi-Fi connection on my Motorola Atrix 4G drops alot.
How do I fix this Wi-Fi drop issue? I'm rooted running the latest 1.8.3 over the air update.
Maybe you have already done it, but make sure you have
Menu -> Settings -> Wireless & networks -> WiFi settings -> (menu key) -> Advanced -> WiFi sleep policy to 'never'.
Unfortunately Android will still make sure to lower the bandwidth as soon as your display turns off and I haven't heard of a fix for that.

[Q] WiFi continously scanning for new networks...

Hello all,
Not sure if anyone have the same issue, but my WiFi drains about 7% battery in 30 mins. My connection is stable. It seems that WiFi is scanning about every 5 seconds for new networks.
I'm on Villain 2.0, KG1 modem and KG1 kernel.
should only scan if not connected if you have wi-fi enabled that is!

It should, yet it's still scanning for new networks, even though WiFi is already connected.
Advanced settings when in the wifi settings should have a tick box for notifying you of available networks. Ensure this is disabled!

Hi - I have the same problem. I did not have it when I was on KE8 which was my original FW. I then updated it to KF3 and initially I did not have this problem. Then I observed the batter drain so I checked that this was happening when WiFi is connected. I have unchecked the tick box for notifying the available networks. It did not work. I flashed Cognition ROM v.13 and then v1.15. The problem still persists. Is this a known issue? I am not seeing many entries regarding this problem.
I don't know if this is a known problem or not, but very annoying.

[Q] CM7 WiFi settings

Hello All,
I'm using CM7 (2.3.3).
Where are the settings to have WiFi set to turn ON automatically when the tablet first starts up? Right now, WiFi is always off when the tablet starts up?
Thanks,
Paul
I'm having the same issue...
For me I simply go to settings > wireless & networks & enable wifi. From there I simply connect to the needed connection & it will connect automatically when it is within range. I've never had to do more than that as it will connect on its own even after a reboot.

Are you using Wifi during syncing? If so, Wifi may get disconnected when the screen is switched off. Go o Settings -> Wireless and Networks -> Wifi settings -> Advanced -> Wifi sleep policy -> and set it to 'Never'.

Go to WiFi settings. Tap and hold on the network you are connected. Select DELETE. Turn Off WiFi. Restart your phone, turn on WiFi and select your network.
Hope this helps.
