Screen issues. Please help! - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777

So I just installed a new back panel on my phone and I don't think I caused anything to come loose but my screen is having an issues with these weird horizontal lines moving around. They're faint but they're annoying. Could somebody please help me and quickly?

Disassemble your phone like you did before double check all connections test the phone, just hold the battery in place, then if its good do a normal shut down and put it back together carefully not to bump any connectors. Find out what one is the screen connector GENTLY in hook it then hook it back up and test

Thanks. I hope its just a cable not fully attached and I didn't break something.

I'll try that in the morning

Screen problem

Got a second eris off ebay to use as a test platform, the problem with it is that the screen is selecting whatever it wants. It just goes crazy and won't let me move or remove widgets. I think it is the digitizer.....what are your thoughts?
When I touch anywhere on the screen it will scroll between screens

Give this a shot: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=64CJHQ6L - It's the official HTC touch screen calibration apk. If that doesn't work, I would root it and see if it wasn't a problem with the rom.
Ill give it a try. Ive already got it rooted and running celb 2.3

Applied the calibration and yhat seemed to help. Do you think a bad trackball could cause problems?
Sent from my ERIS using XDA App
Yes. Most common trackball issue is constant scrolling to the left.

UPDATE!!
ok, read into the trackball issue...this is what i came up with.
i removed the batt cover and battery, removed the 4 screws in the housing, exposed the circuit board, removed the 2 screws holding the power port. then, gently raising the port, removed the trackball itself (paying close attention to the orientation).
went to the store and got a bottle of 91% isopropyl alcohol and a can of that spray air stuff. took qtips and scrubbed the trackball itself and then did the same to the sensor that is on the board. then took the can of air and blasted all the moisture and residue that remained.
put it all back togeter, powered it on and BAM!! all seems to be working well now.

[Q] (HELP) Vibrant camera problems!!!!!!

A few months ago i washed my vibrant. dried it out etc. Got it working fine except that the camera was forcing closed all of the time and also caused it to overheat. so long story short i took the camera out and it worked fine except for the camera obviously. i ordered new oem vibrant cameras online and went to put one of them in now i have a weird problem the camera works but the power button doesnt. i was messing around with it and found if the camera board is mounted upside down the power button works and camera doesnt but this obviously wont work seeing that the camera cant mount in that position and still be able to put the phone back together . i know this is really strange and i probably will not find anyone on earth that is having this problem but just thought id throw it out there and any help would be greatly appreciated.
Couple of things, If you have a oem camera and you make it upside down the power button works then there is something that is shorting between there, try using some saran wrap as an insulator and try that to see if that solves the problem. Also, use a magnifying glass and look very carefully. I would guess you will find some of the insulating protective coating (conformal coating) has a scratch leaving something exposed.
Hope that helps
I will try thanks for ur response I needed help beyond my knowing I appreciate it will try later and post back

SGSII AT&T Random Reboots

Is anyone experiencing random reboots with your phone. It will either just flat out reboot, or the signal meter gets an X then the media scanner function and comes back to normal.
I read on the international GSII's that you wedge a piece of paper in the battery compartment to stop movement or the RAM is bad.
Please any thoughts or advice?
Not at all. I would try a factory reset and if that doesn't fix it return that thing. Good luck

Reboot all the way to the GalaxyS II screen, or back to the bootanimation?
The two are VERY different.
No problems here, even with an experimental kernel.
No reboots on mine as of yet...
Had that problme
Had the same problem, took it back the second day and got a different phone. Works fine since.
Ugggg....
Thank you everyone for the advice. I took the phone back and got a new one. No reboots.....which is great. However, now there is like screen burn in (similar to plasma tvs).....only noticeable with bright white or dark grey screens like when you open the market app and the grey screen appears in the background. Its like a huge discolored grey band right through the middle of the screen. Guess I will take this one back for #3......if this doesnt work Im gonna get something else...
i guess I should consider myself lucky that my phone is flawless

Vibrant got wet acting funny

Hi,
I installed a screen protector that used this fluid when installing the protector (you spray it on the screen and the protector and smush them together). I got a lot of the fluid inside the phone when it was on (I took battery cover off and it was dripping through). Now the phone is acting weird, I am randomly getting USB connected notice, the whole screen has flipped sideways and I cant get it to flip back, when I try to turn off screen flipping the button doesn't do anything (I actually cant turn it on the button just doesn't do anything). Its says media scanning sometimes randomly, and I get this wierd screen after pressing the unlock button from a locked state, a screen Ive never seen before, it has like buttons for home and some others, and when I press home it takes me to my unlock code. Its just acting bizarre. Anyone have any ideas what is going on?
Thanks
If it was dripping through the phone It probably fried mutliple things inside the phone. Hence the problems your having

Put it in a container with rice or some bread. It will extract the moisture. Don't plug it in until you get it dry. Good luck.

[Q] In-call screen blackout issue. Help please!

I'm hoping someone has a solution to this very annoying issue I'm having with my Note 2.
It's Verizon - stock - 4.1.2
When I dial a phone number and put the phone to my ear the screen goes black - as it should. But when I move the phone away from my ear the screen doesn't come back on. It stays blacked out and I can't get it to come back on with the home or even the power button.
This means I can't hang up, I can't put the phone on speakerphone mode, I can't use the touchtone pad to navigate through menus. It's made my phone a real pain in the arse.
Anyone have any thoughts on what to do or what's going wrong?:fingers-crossed:
A couple things I'm thinking... Try pulling out your spen when it happens.. Do a battery pull if nothing else.. It might be the proximity censor... Do you have a screen protector on it?

I'll try the s-pen, maybe that will work.
I've got a screen protector, but it's the same one I've had on since I first bought the phone months ago. I've pulled the battery several time, it's the only way to hang up!
I too think it's the proximity censor, which sucks because I don't want to trade in my phone for some refurb that's gone through God knows what.
Good luck...those were the only things I could think of. ..

Check your case and your screen protector. and clean the proximity sensor. Know it sounds weird, but have problems before with screen protectors getting oil on them when placed to the ear and the sensor thinking you are still close. Also lighting from cases makes the sensor go fruity. Not a science but worth a check.

THANKS! I used the compressed air method - I blew it through the ear hole and open the back of the phone and blew it through any openings I saw. Now the sensor works perfectly again. :highfive::highfive:
