This 2 files reinstall su to v3.0.3.2 and busybox to v1.19.4-wraithdu possible is busybox reinstall is not needed

Where can i find those two flashable zip?
Is busybox necessary?
I don't have busy box
Look at my Post there are 2 attachments, su3.0.3.2 and busybox
download it -> copy to your sdcard -> restart your phone in recovery mode -> install the 2 files with the recovery - restart your phone -> try link2sd
I don´t know if busybox is needed but it is better to install because some other root-apps need it

Newer Versions of the su bin causes segmentation fault in other apps on my phone so i let him update/downgrade to 3.0.3.2 which works perfect.
I use ICS Stock ROM on my Mini (ST15i)

Hi!
I've installed the 2.3.3 upgrade today on my phone, but Titanium Backup won't work anymore. Every time I start it, it says: "Sorry, I could not acquire root privileges..."
Other applications work fine and have root access - I tried Root Explorer, Terminal Emulator, BusyBox Installer and MyBackup. They all work fine.
I have on my phone:
- Superuser v2.3.6.1 (Database Version 5)
- Su binary v2.3.1-ef
- BusyBox v1.17.2
- Titanium Backup v3.9.0.1
- Android 2.3.3, BaseBand 2.1.71, Build 3.0.1.G.0.75 (DooMLoRD pre-rooted with xRecovery 0.3, from here)
Does anybody else have this error?

Wrong section, this belongs in Q&A, but.....
Click the Problems? button on the bottom right of the app. TB will prompt to download it's own local version of busybox. This may help your problem.
Try clearing the data from superuser. Doom had some left overs in there. After that TB should be able to get root.

Hi!
Sorry, you are right. @MODs: please feel free to move the thread to Q&A.
I pressed the "Problems?" button, but it only gives me 3 options:
- See Wiki
- Preferences
- Upgrade Superuser
I've tried the last option and updated Superuser and su. I have now:
- Superuser v2.3.6.3
- su v.2.3.2-efgh
- forgot to mention before, that I have only the free version of TB.
But still the same error Other apps work, but Titanium Backup still can't get root access.
BTW what has BusyBox to do with root access? Titanium Backup fails at getting root access (through the "su" binary). The BusyBox check comes only after it has been granted the root permissions...
Try Wolf's rom, it is working flawlessly there!!
regards
there is a newer busybox 1.18.4
try that

Strange, when I press problems, it gives a pop-up offering to download a known good version of busybox.
Anyway, try opening the superuser app and clearing the app list. TB can sometimes act up during su request and you never see the request. If you have a task manager, kill TB before trying again or reboot.

Hi!
Thank you very much, that did the trick!!! I cleared the data on both TB and Superuser, now it's working!
It also seems, that TB is using his own version of BusyBox ("1.18.4-Titanium from app") not the one already installed (1.17.2).
Thanks again everybody!

I think the kernel has an old version of superuser so to get latest version you have to flash it separately.

You're welcome Rajeev;
I says before this method tested by me on c5303 and .245 Firmware and I recomended to flash supersuer.zip separately.
but this kernel does not automatically install supersuer app? Are you sure?
I've tested many ways and all of the root method and "supersu" to make the program very slow and very weak.
I tell you this because I tested it with superuser root, really better and much faster at startup supersu works.

Yes it does
Edit: I can't update SU binary with Supersu. :/
It not works with the 2.254 firmware and it gives you phone restarts when try to do any root thing for example delete a system file.
SuperSu does not work either. I can update the binary but gives you unlimited phone restarts right after boot. So bootloop.
I deleted it in safe mode.
Waiting for the new version. :\
I have now installed supersu and updated binairy.
also i have tried superuser from chainsdd ant had no bootloop anymore but lost root when removing the chinese version.
how do i delete the chinese superuser app without losing root?
EDIT:
Somehow i managed to root my phone while the chinese superuser was removed and it didn't come back after root using Vroot
so now i am using supersu and it's working perfect.
EDIT:
Phone force reboot when removing system app or changing /system to r/w.

My phone is from middle East so an planning to use the original build
So it's mena Arabic
I did found a way to install it using flashtool but nothing about root
My phone is now rooted with locked bootlloader
If I flash using flashtool, can I root directly from 5.1.1 ?
If you search you would find that you can create a rooted 5.1.1 zip that you flash in recovery. Give that search button a shot.

Recovery should be: Z2-lockeddualrecovery2.8.21-RELEASE.flashable (Donwload from NUT's site: http://nut.xperia-files.com/ )
SuperSU should be: UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46 ( http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu )
And your personal .ftf
I suggest to create your pre-rooted package with PRF Creator v0.9. v1.0 can only be flashed via TWRP only. If you use v1.0 select Legacy Mode and use TWRP ONLY when installing. Select all options (See picture of v0.9) If you don't have Java installed the PRF Creator can't sign the .zip (I don't think so, everybody has Java!)

Dear All,
WARNING: I'm no developer, just a regular user. SO PLEASE ONLY TRY THE BELOW PROCEDURE AT YOUR OWN RISK. I'm not responsible if you end up with a device that doesn't work the way it is originally meant to.
Recently I decided to root my Mi 5 running Global Dev ROM (Version: 6.5.30 (MIUI7)).
Read a few threads.
Mainly (link A): http://en.miui.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=260976
Then I posted a Q&A thread: http://en.miui.com/forum.php?mod ... 0&page=1#pid5799160
I noticed that according to link A, we needed to wipe data to root successfully.
Here's what I did:
1. Unlock BootLoader via Xiaomi Official Method. - Important Step
2. Temporarily flash TWRP (link mentioned in link A) [fastboot boot *recoveryname*.img].
3. Selecetd English as the language.
4. Left the System partition unmodified when promted (Keep Read Only).
5. Mounted System + Cache.
6. Enabled ADB sideload.
7. SIdeloaded the superSU file (link mentioned in link A).
8. Rebooted device.
9. SuperSU was installed.
10. To check this I tried out SElinuxmodechanger + V4A (use apps with Root access at your own risk and evaluation of safe / unsafe nature of the app/apps).

Conclusion: I was able to root my Mi 5 (Global Dev Rom) without permanent flashing of TWRP + without modification to system partition (Keep Read Only)) + without wiping data in TWRP before installing SuperSU.
Hey, great tutorial, but after, the OTA update will work and / or remove root ?
Is the sideload necessary ? Can't the SuperSU file be stored in an internal folder beforehand ?
@hmnk: can you please post links for SElinuxmodechanger and V4A? Thanks.

Sideload was necessary at the time of the tutorial being posted as the MIUI version / TWRP didn't allow data partition to be mounted without formatting it. Hence, the flashable zips had to be sideloaded.
However, currently, I'm on MIUI Version: V8.0.2.0.MAAMIDG (MIUI8) and twrp-3.0.2-0-gemini, this combination allows data partition to be mounted without formatting it.

Thanks very much for this worked a treat. I'm on 6.10.13 Global, used ZCX-TWRP and SuperSU v2.76. No problems at all.
Many thanks for your guide. I'll try it on the next update
This has been working well for me, thank you. Now I'm wondering if the same method could be used to install things like Xposed without flashing TWRP too. Has anyone tried it? I'm scared. ::laugh:
