Thanks

SO Guys,
as u know im of course no Noob and i have some experince with android flashing/rooting/bootloader/custom ROms & Kernels, but i will buy Xperia S, so Question:
If i got Bootloop and cant pull out the battery what to do? Is there a Combination for Turning Off the Phone while boot? and i have read a few threads where people crying OMG i cant get to flashmode, is this really so?? Because i thought u can go to fastboot whatever u do with ur software..?! On arc S i always could go to Fastboot/flashmode Xperia arc S is better for Custom Roms/root hacking because battery removeable and micro sd and hardware buttons

you can remove the battery if you really want by removing the screws on the back, but there is a better way that is mentioned in the manual for the phone:
hold power button and volume up will restart, if you hold a bit longer it will shutdown the phone
this works even when the phone is booting or frozen so it is a foolproof way without unscrewing the back
i came to xperia s from an xperia play, i can say that the capacative buttons are not perfect, but are reasonable, because i found on my xplay the chrome on the buttons would slowly wear off.
you can access fastboot/flashmode same way on xperia 2012 devices
press volume up while usb plugged in for fastboot
press volume down while usb plugged in for flashmode
btw, i kinda prefer built in memory for phones, it saves me the hassle, and it is usually faster. i was kinda pissed when i bought the xperia play as a gaming phone, but i realised it only had 400mb for internal! isn't 32gb enough for you?

First of all you reset by holding power_volume up till 3 times vibrates
use the original rom and put it on firmware directory inside the flashtool
then use flashtool and flash system.sin and kernel.sin with unchecked wipes options ( by doing this you don 't lose your datas on phone )
if it dosen't repaire you must flash a clean rom again.
Boot loop Xperia S easy solution
There is easier way :
1.Turn off phone by long hold power button + volume up
2.Download Sony Updater Service program from http://software.sonymobile.com/emma/...-2.13.4.20.exe
3. Install program and follow instructions.
Good luck

Hello, Im trying to flash my phone with Jerpelea`s tutorial, but I cant put this phone in Flash mode, it says to hold the Back button after power it off, but it seems to have no effect at all...
also hold the back buttom while powering the phone doesnt work...
can someone help me please??
Hold back button down first then plug USB in and continue to hold back button
Hello A have the same problem is there a other whay?
Thanks
you have to switch the phone off.. take out the battery for 5 seconds (min).. then.. this is the bit you need three hands for... you need to hold the back button whilst plugging in the USB cable.. continue to hold the back button until the software tells you to let go..
Whill this work for de x10i ??
Resisting the temptation for sarcasm....
Yes, it's the x10i method.

There is only only method for the X10a/i/mini/mini pro/1.6/2.1/2.2 into flashmode, as Mr Iceman has already explained, if it doesn't work for you you're doing something wrong or your phone is broke. To save having to use 3 hands, plug the lead into the phone first, then attaching it to the PC is a much simpler task.
Oki, thank you, I will test it later because I have a bigger problem like I said here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=10781800#post10781800

I have the same problem, this metod don´t work in the xperia mini pro[SK17i], 'press volume down button' isn´t recognized
whit a command according to forum 'supported devices' . How can i flash this model of xperia now?
Help me ppl ! I screwed up big time !!
I originally got X10 mini with Android 2.1 and relatively old firmware ...anyway I rooted my phone, took the backup and then Flashed a CWM Recovery on it !
Factory WIPED all the data for the new ROM ......
Then I was about to Flash this CM 7.1 ROM when all of a sudden it displayed the message that it wont work wihout the Latest Firmware .... so from there on I had no choice but to Restore my Backup and go back to a working OS, so I could easily proceed with Firmware update ...... but that never happened !!!
The Backup couldnt be recovered ...it failed for i dont know what reason ....ever since then the device never worked beyond the WHITE Sony Ericsson LOGO !!! Im stucked ..... even the CWM Recovery isnt working now !!
I'm stucked !! I've been looking for a solution for almost 3 days now .... but had no luck !!! dont know what to do from here on!! KINDLY HELP !! plzz plzz plzzz !! I desperately need to fix this !! the device even aint mine !!!
restore to stock by using sony ericsson update service
First, don't panic
And you have to notice and make this a lesson; if CWM said that your baseband is incompatible, it means, CWM is not flashing anything to your phone, yet.. So you only have to restart the phone, instead of recovering your CWM backup, and you'll be back to your default OS
Second, now find a tool named FlashTool, and also find a 2.1 stock firmware.. now proceed to flash with USB cable, you'll find the instruction together with the tool
Third, you'll be OK, trust me
first of all moedjs man !! Thx for sympathy n giving me courage !!
but could you kindly confirm that FlashTool would still work even If I'm unable to mount USB anywhere !! coz USB would charge phone but since I'm stuck on Sony Ericsson Logo and cant go beyond that point I'm unable to update my Firmware via PC Companion tool by Sony Ericsson tooo !!!
Thats the main reason I was panicking mate !! Kindly Kindly confirm that for me !! n I'm already liking your positive attitude ..so I do trust ya !! THX again !!
i don't understand why you can't use official seus? afaik it doesn't need anything beyond the se logo. power off phone, run seus on the pc, plug the cable while pressing the back key, etc; right?

Sir I've been through that .... for some reason it didnt work for me beyond "plug the cable while pressing the back key" STEP !! i dont know why !! i didnt have any effect watsoever, therefore I couldnt proceed with the 3rd STEP of Updating it ! =(
and is there anyway to Remove the battery !! coz once I use Home+Power Key combo it restarts device ...... is there any other combo to power off the phone, so I can atleast save battery !! anyway m also givin FLASHTOOL a try !!
can't power off? well, try these steps:
start seus on pc
connect phone and pc with usb cable
press both middle and right button at the same time and press the power button
when phone goes down keep pressing only the right button

Man I just tried turning on my device for the first time today !! Battery was discharged i guessed so Initially I got Red blinking LED light .... now even that its stable on Green .... !! my device isn't turning on !! not even showing that white Sony Ericsson logo now ! i dont know whats happening here !!
I'm trying to be calm but stuff like that keeps happening to me !! Kindly guide me with that !! its still green I hold power button n yet its showing no sign of turning on ! =(((
do you see charging battery in your screen? have you waited enough to boot it again and try the steps above?
still, if you need to disconnect the battery, here is a disassembling guide: http://goo.gl/jDd6q

Wow thanks for that Dis-Assembling guide ..... !! I'll ultimately have to try this if everything else fails ....
well I never saw Battery charging on screen !! i think not even when it was working fine !!
I think i'll give it some more time with charging !! coz it just showed me that SE logo again .... but when I tried to restart it .... the screen didnt turn back on !!!
also when SE Logo appears it appears automatically ......dont have to turn on the device ... and then also green LED light turns off ..... Im not sure whether its still charging at that time or not !! I think NOT ! this is kinda dodgy ! what do you reckon ?
no led light, no charge, i think. have you tried triple keys way again? it's kind of tricky, do it carefully.
Yeah I did !! I pressed HOME+Back at the same time and then had to Hold the Home button to turn the screen off ! then I repeatedly kept pressing the BACK button!
actually from there on it started blinking that RED Led light again .... ! I think its still needs more charging .... but then again If it charges enough to power the screen on automatically ..... the Green LED disappears .... so M kinda stuck in the loop here !
Oh God Help me !!

i think flashtool needs a working system.
can you power off your phone or not? if able to do so, seus should work.
so, you have just one option if you can't start recovery: using seus.
and you've two options to start seus: the standart way, or the triple buttons way.
if you can enter recovery, you can try to wipe everything and flash a rom.
these are all i can say about it. hope you can solve it.

When charged enough there's no way to turn the device off ! I've tried both HOME+POWER & HOME+BACK then POWER (holding the back Key towards the end) button none of them actually works ! The Screen keeps powering back on, showing up that Sony Ericsson Logo !
Could it be USB Bricked or something ? (Apparently, since I cant access recovery I cant mount the device)
Try:
- turn off phone
- wait for 1 minute, phone still off
- connect to usb with flashtool
I have almost the same problem, my phone have been breaked several times but every time i had access to xrec or internet to solve problem. But this time when phone dischared for first time n I wanted to start it again I found that it's not gonna boot! Stuck on SE text logo... (I flashed CM7)
now it's charged ( although the screen was on, showing SE) n I have flasher n a rom.
but when i start to flash after showing "start Falshing" on screen (CMD) some seconds pass n CMD shows "write failed" n other things...
When i connect my phone to pc red LED shows itself for some seconds n after it disconnects itself while i'm pressing the back key...
And two questions:
1. Does it matter what the name of the ROM file -in firmware folder- is?...
2. I have to ftf files. on is about 108 MB n the other one 280 MB. Eachone can be a ROM?(I have tested Flasher with both of them.)
tnx
Hey guys!
I'm not allowed to post this into the development section for the xperia p, so I have to do it here.
I've decided to root my xperia p. So, I unlocked the bootloader and rooted my device following these instructions using flashtool method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1900172. Right after that, I flashed over this kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1894463.
I was pretty happy with this setup until I realised, that this kernel still has some bugs that need fixing and is not ready for stable everyday-use. (In my opinion..)
What I did next was flashing back to the stock kernel, which can be found in the same thread in the first post (for people who want stock kernel with custom CWM) and now my p is in a constant bootloop, turning on and off, without showing any logo and not giving me any access to recovery. I can't even initiate fastboot.. WHAT DO I DO NOW? I really need your help with this..
AND by the way, I have a lot of experience in the matter of flashing and android development, but this is the first time I really don't know what to do to fix this issue!

dont panic if you have boot loop all you need to do is hard reset the phone this is dont by holding power button and vol+ till it vibrates 3 times this will switch the phone off and allow you fastboot to flash cwm recovery again and then you can recover your backup
Xperia P.... has a removable battery right, if I recall.
Remove battery, hold vol up, place battery. Phone should vibrate 3 times.
Keep finger on vol up, shove USB port in. You should get into fastboot.
If you're aiming to go back to stock, then just go into flashboot (vol down), and flash a stock ftf file.

if this happens that means ur phone can enter into fastboot by connecting the usb while holding the vol up button
and u can flash this kernel

I see many people here desperately looking to know 'how to get into recovery in Xperia Neo L' . I cant answer to individually each one of them, So I've created this Thread for the people who cant get into recovery from their Neo L switched off and If anything happens (such as soft bricks) they would have to reflash the whole firmware.
Im not sure that if it works for every recovery, but Im pretty sure that it works for all kind of CWM available for Sony Xperia Neo L.
Power on your device,
Wait until you see your notification LED lighted up (usually pink in Xparts)
Start pressing volume up button again and again just from the very moment you see the Notification light [Instead of again and again, Pressing the Volume up once in enough] (P.S: The Light Doesnt stay long)
That should get you into Recovery from your switched off/bricked Sony Xperia Neo L
Press Thanks you must if you think this thread I made helped you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Volume DOWN button i think..
In my neo v i use clockworkmod, and i was trying to enter without success. Fortunatelly, i was playing around trying to find it and i found that when the blue light turns on, i have to shake literally my phone to enter cwm. So my phone uses the motion sensor.

Your Battery is empty
When the led blinks red or orange he says your battery is empty use the originalcable from Sony

If not, what did you do before? Flashing anything? Rooted/unlocked bootloader/rom? Please give us more information

I have a similar problem with my Xperia U. I only got to unlock the BL yesterday (the official way). Then I put in a boot.img from FXP CM10 ROM for... Xperia T using fastboot and it stopped responding entirely. I give, that wasn't particularly clever, but it's the first time I use FXP and the instructions did say I should use CM10 boot image and that's what I did as there is no Xperia U CM10 image.
I charged the phone for 2 hours from my PC using the original Sony cable and then overnight (for ~8 hours) using a charger from my aged Spica. Pressing and holding the Power button after charging produced no effect whatsoever. Not even a blink of a diode.
I removed the battery and replaced it after ~20 minutes. The Power button still does nothing.
Plugging in the charger lights up the red charge LED, but the screen is off.
Plugging the phone to the PC (original Sony cable, dual Windows Vista 32-bit/Debian Sqeeze 64-bit laptop) also only lights up the red charge LED, the screen is still off. Holding Vol+/Vol- buttons (or both) while plugging in the USB cable does nothing.
Because I can neither fastboot nor flashmode I couldn't use Flashtool or SUS.
I'm lost... What did I miss?
First there is no CM for U, and second you bricked device cause you flashed wrong kernel - its for another phone.
You might flash U kernel from CM9.
Now try charging the phone for hours, then try enter flashmode to flash stock ROM, or fastboot mode to flash proper kernel.

FXP for U is a modified CM9, right? That's what I was talking about.
I'm very well aware that's a wrong kernel I just didn't realise that until it was too late because of the cryptic device coding. I use Linux for 10 years now and it's not my first Android device so I have an idea how this things work.
I already did that. Is there anything else I might try or should I just repeat the charging process ad infinitum?
Once I too flashed a wrong kernel

Xperia t is no where related to xperia u
