Hey guys!
I'm not allowed to post this into the development section for the xperia p, so I have to do it here.
I've decided to root my xperia p. So, I unlocked the bootloader and rooted my device following these instructions using flashtool method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1900172. Right after that, I flashed over this kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1894463.
I was pretty happy with this setup until I realised, that this kernel still has some bugs that need fixing and is not ready for stable everyday-use. (In my opinion..)
What I did next was flashing back to the stock kernel, which can be found in the same thread in the first post (for people who want stock kernel with custom CWM) and now my p is in a constant bootloop, turning on and off, without showing any logo and not giving me any access to recovery. I can't even initiate fastboot.. WHAT DO I DO NOW? I really need your help with this..
AND by the way, I have a lot of experience in the matter of flashing and android development, but this is the first time I really don't know what to do to fix this issue!

dont panic if you have boot loop all you need to do is hard reset the phone this is dont by holding power button and vol+ till it vibrates 3 times this will switch the phone off and allow you fastboot to flash cwm recovery again and then you can recover your backup
Xperia P.... has a removable battery right, if I recall.
Remove battery, hold vol up, place battery. Phone should vibrate 3 times.
Keep finger on vol up, shove USB port in. You should get into fastboot.
If you're aiming to go back to stock, then just go into flashboot (vol down), and flash a stock ftf file.

No,i cant enter either of them..my phone does not responds to anything..usb cable or charger..vol. up or vol. down or power..wish had never unlocked my bootloader because than i had never developed intrest in all these procedures..i admit, rooting and flashing custom roms, enjoying a vast range f applications for root was fun alltogether but a very costly one..i know i wont be able to get it replaced because i already voided my warranty by unlocking the f***ing bootloader..!!

But your charging light turns orange? That means you should be able to enter fastboot mode. Did you try removing the battery, leave it out of the phone for like a few minutes to be sure.
Then connect USB cable with volume up, without battery in the phone.
Let me know what you get then

Should i be messing with the test pointers to get this undone via hardware..or i should stick to software manipulations using diffrent combos..i hve removed the battery 10 minutes ago,i guess all the capacitor power will be gone by now..so what next should i do..??

First off calm down and think clearly. I hardbricked my S but revived it. First off the recovery should be related to the kernel. Put your battery in and hold volume up and power for ten seconds. Then let it chill for a few minutes. Then try and enter fastboot so you can flash a new kernel. I have NEVER EVER found a phone that couldnt be revived from brick and I have rooted and modded at least 15 different models and manufacturers. It can be done, you just need patience. Fastboot mode is the way to revive a device and once you get the proper kernel on you should be okay. Just keep trying to enter fastboot. Dont run your battery out all the way though, since sometimes you can get it to low the phone cant charge and the charge mode is related to kernel.
I do have same problem, please help me.

Post your own thread instead of necroing an old one will help. Also saying what happened before the phone died will also help.
Anyway, hold vol up + power for 20 seconds and see if you can get it to vibrate.
If so, after the 3rd vibrate, quickly hold vol down, then jam the USB cable in.
You are now in flashboot. Flash a stock ftf and you should be fine.

Saved my life!
Was stuck into SONY logo after "testing" each CWM function (like the wipe system, etc .. !)
Many thanks!
Xperia U bricked, tried many things but now it gets stuck at "SONY" logo
I am now downloading this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1974430 stock ROM. can you suggest which kernel I will have to use to flash the boot partition with. and any steps I have to follow before flashing the stock ROM using flashtool ?
Background:-
I rooted my phone then unlocked the bootloader the official way.
Installed CM9. worked fine
Then I wanted to back to stock ROM (for some xyz reason)
I got a vodafone image and recovered the phone by flashing it but touchscreen was not working.
I think I have messed up a lot and now I cant get the CM9 working also (touchscreen doesnt work)
Touchscreen not working, is it a software or hardware related ?
I still believe if its software related it can be fixed somehow.
Thanks.

Hi everyone, I need help because I have probably bricked my Xperia Sola. Yesterday I tried to flash ClockWorkMod recovery ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1766892 ). I flashed kernel.elf via fastboot and after flashing I unplugged the phone and I pressed the power button, the phone vibrated and the Sony logo appeared then the phone vibrated again and the blue led turned on and.. nothing else! It doesn't boot and i don't know what to do I noticed that if i press volume up while the blue led is on, the phone goes into recovery mode but I don't know what to do! Can someone help me?
p.s. Sorry for my bad english!

Well, if you clicked the volume up while he was with that blue LED, and opened his recovery, he may still go start the kernel... remove and replace the battery and turn on the phone, maybe it solves.

I can't remove it! The phone has a non-removable battery!
OK, do the following, click the power button and hold it more or less by 10secs and release when you feel three vibrations . It will reboot your phone .
I followed your instruction but the phone didn't vibrate 3 times.. I'm desperate, do you think that if I bring my phone in a Sony support center they will fix it?
He turn on a Red led when you pressing the power + up vol? have to be pressed in the same time.. you can fix it easily here. you dont need to go to a sony support center now. If reset dont work , you can use flashtool to make it stock again.

If you want , flash this rom , its have root and CMW -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1897908 you can use adb to flash , or with flashtool , what is much more easy to use.

Out of curiosity, were you on GingerBread or ICS when you flashed this ? And is your bootloader unlocked ?
Flash a Stock as mentioned before and you should be fine. You can go Either Stock ICS http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1914264
or GB (as in the previous post).
And the Force reboot is Hold Vol Up + Power for around 15 sec. You will initially have one vibration, then three. After which it turns off.
What were you on? ICS or GB?
It's just an incorrect kernel flash. Phone can still be fixed.
I've first hand experience with this >_>
Don't send to Sony. They're useless.
Hold power + vol up for 10 secs. The phone will vibrate once, keep the buttons pressed until the vibration is felt 3 times.
Let go of Power, keep the vol up pressed. Then quickly shove the USB port in.
Flash these kernels via fastboot, depending on which version you were on.
GB: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1897908
ICS: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1922029
EDIT:
Or you can save all the trouble with the following:
Download Flashboot. After the 3 vibes, quickly hold vol down and shove the USB port in. Flash the stock ICS rom (includes kernel) which will fix your problems as well.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1914264
There's a global version in the thread somewhere.

I have a similar problem with my Xperia U. I only got to unlock the BL yesterday (the official way). Then I put in a boot.img from FXP CM10 ROM for... Xperia T using fastboot and it stopped responding entirely. I give, that wasn't particularly clever, but it's the first time I use FXP and the instructions did say I should use CM10 boot image and that's what I did as there is no Xperia U CM10 image.
I charged the phone for 2 hours from my PC using the original Sony cable and then overnight (for ~8 hours) using a charger from my aged Spica. Pressing and holding the Power button after charging produced no effect whatsoever. Not even a blink of a diode.
I removed the battery and replaced it after ~20 minutes. The Power button still does nothing.
Plugging in the charger lights up the red charge LED, but the screen is off.
Plugging the phone to the PC (original Sony cable, dual Windows Vista 32-bit/Debian Sqeeze 64-bit laptop) also only lights up the red charge LED, the screen is still off. Holding Vol+/Vol- buttons (or both) while plugging in the USB cable does nothing.
Because I can neither fastboot nor flashmode I couldn't use Flashtool or SUS.
I'm lost... What did I miss?
First there is no CM for U, and second you bricked device cause you flashed wrong kernel - its for another phone.
You might flash U kernel from CM9.
Now try charging the phone for hours, then try enter flashmode to flash stock ROM, or fastboot mode to flash proper kernel.

FXP for U is a modified CM9, right? That's what I was talking about.
I'm very well aware that's a wrong kernel I just didn't realise that until it was too late because of the cryptic device coding. I use Linux for 10 years now and it's not my first Android device so I have an idea how this things work.
I already did that. Is there anything else I might try or should I just repeat the charging process ad infinitum?

Hi All
I really hope one of you can help me..
i tried this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2249077&page=1
My bootloader is unlocked.
So i flashed the ICS kernel, ThP via the command: fastboot flash boot kernel-unsigned.elf
It gave the result: (bootloader) Flash operation complete
But then this step came: Flash the zip and power off the device from recovery
I thought that i needed to reboot my phone, and go into the startup mode i used to have on my CM10.1, so I turned off the phone..
But no boot at all now, and when i try to go into flash mode, nothing happens Only when i prest both the power + vol. up the diode light becomes purple for a short time, but it turns off Again, and my pc dont see the phone, not even a "Windows got a new usb device" sound comes
What do I do now? Is there anyway to bring it back to life?
I really hope someone can help
Kind regards
Juel

Hey guys,
I've got the xperia z tablet (16gb wifi only)
and I had unlocked it, the other day I saw it finally got an OTA update, so I let it update.
apparently that was a bad idea?, I was stuck with the broken android symbol every time i attempted to start the tablet..
I tried the sony software, the recovery thing it has. That has only made things worse, now the tablet refuses to start whatsoever.
Can anyone point me in the right direction? I'd appreciate it very much.

Hi
I had the same issues when I flashed the wrong ROM. Nothing worked no power light or anything.
Now I can't remember exactly what I did but I started to press buttons and I'm sure that holing the power button and the vol up for a while made it start again and it displayed an error and then went into flash mode .
As I said I'm not sure which buttons I pressed but I know that I held them in for a while
Try using Flashtool... Im pretty sure you can rcover it by flashing a FTF file.

get the stock ftf file and flash it using flashtools, I was in a bootloop and it worked
i know its an old post but i have to try
i m in a boot loop and i want to find the Fed file in order to do a fastboot....
Can someone give them??
I test my tablet SGP321 with many ROMs.. I end up going to boot loop... Crashes and stuff but I always recover from it.
The things I do before doing anything insane with my tablet
1. Take backup off apps/data
2. Always enable debugging and Unknown Sources
3. Keep the backup of the ROMs
4. Always have the xperia flashtool on my computer
Here's what you can do..
Press and hold the Power button and the Volume Up button for ten seconds until you see a white light flashing three times. While doing this somewhere around in 5 seconds you'll see white led flashing once, but keep on pressing those buttons till it flashes next three times.
After that your tablet will be turned Off.
You can put your device in flash mode and flash a new ROM from Xperia flash tool.
If you get the error "Unknown sources and USB debugging must me enable for flash mode, then your option can be to flash the ROM from fastboot.
Download a ROM (CyanogenMod or any with custom recovery).
Flash the boot.img via fastboot and reboot your device.
Once done you should see a led lit up while the device is booting (pink/magenta color in case of CyanogenMod).
Press the volume up/down button and you should be able to go to recovery mode.
From here you can recover your device easily
And before you do anything make sure you've charged your device well.
Good luck
